My husband and I are retired, he from the Federal Government and I from Electronic Data Systems (now HP). While we love living in Pennsylvania in the summer, we wanted a lovely place to spend our winters away from the snow and ice. Hilton Head is the place to be! We love to walk or ride our bikes on the beach, play golf at one of the many great courses, or participate in some of the many clubs and activities available for every interest.
Why the Owner Chose Evian
Hilton Head is an island with the wonderful island ambiance that we enjoy. Since its location is tucked in at the south end of South Carolina, it is protected from most of the major storms, and has not been damaged by a hurricane since 1898. The weather here is warmer than the north, but not as hot as Florida. The flora is beautiful in the spring, and the wildlife provides endless entertainment year around.

Shipyard is a small plantation located at the intersection of Hilton Head's two main roads, Rt. 278(William Hilton Parkway) and Pope Avenue. It is a gated community, peaceful and pristine, and ideal for couples, families, and friends. The lagoons and ponds that run throughout the landscape offer a haven to a wide variety of native wildlife, and the nearby private beach at Shipyard is one of the most beautiful on the eastern seaboard.
