Why the Owner Chose Colony Surf
I was living in La Jolla California, and came back to Hawaii every year to visit my family. In 2002 I noticed an OPEN HOUSE sign at this address and decided to go in since I always admired this building, The Colony Surf, when I lived here. When I saw this apartment I could not believe the view, and how beautiful every detail of the interior was, it was luxury in every way, a designers work of art. I bought it on the spot, thinking some day I would retire here in paradise. I moved into it in 2003. It wasn't till I moved to Hana Maui in 2007 that I decided to rent it.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
The first thing that shocks everyone is the view, all ocean, sail boats, surfers and canoes. The second is the sound of the waves all day and at night they put you to sleep peacefully. Third is the daily "Spectacular Sunsets". Fourth is the private beach which is easy to take a dip or a wonderful safe swim. The ground floor hosts "Michele's at The Colony Surf" a famous 4 star restaurant. Across the entrance to The Colony Surf is Kapiolani Park, 50 acres to walk or run 3 miles around. And a 10 minute walk along the beach and you are in Waikiki, for amazing dining , shopping, and fun.

I was born in Hawaii, my family has been here for over 124 years since 1885. My Grandmother was the first telephone operator at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in 1927. I used to have a home a block from this apartment building before I moved to La Jolla California. I moved back to Hawaii in 2003 into this apartment, it is truly spectacular. In 2007 I moved to Hana Maui and decided to let other people have the time of their life in my Heaven ON THE BEACH.

Our group stayed at this apartment for one month. We prepared for and celebrated a family wedding held nearby. The apartment is in excellent condition and consistent with the listing detail. The staff were extremely helpful throughout our stay. They made us feel like family without being intrusive and we quickly felt like it was really our home away from home. They offered help with shopping, directions, transportation, and several other personal times that made life easier and expedited our wedding preparations and related events. We found it to be well equipped including extra cutlery and dishes, which was well used for our meals. Many beach items such as towels, mats, etc. are available. Our diverse group used many of these and engaged in a variety of recreational activities during our stay. The ocean is nice for quiet recreation and relaxation on the property. The apartment is well located for shopping, access to beaches and golfing. Waikiki is about 20 minutes from Hanauma Bay. We recommend this place for people looking for a friendly, relaxed, and comfortable vacation.

Recently we stayed for a month in Honolulu - a combination of business and vacation. A friend suggested Roger's beautiful apartment in the Colony Surf because of its location on the water. Our expectations were exceeded. Not only is it right smack dab on the ocean, but the Colony Surf has its very own private beach just below. The giant window opens up for a panoramic view of the Pacific that goes on forever. And did I mention the sunsets? On the main floor of the building is a famous restaurant, Michel's. Just down the block is another wonderful place with a terrific breakfast menu, the Kaimana Beach Hotel. Waikiki is a short walk, and Kapoliani Park is literally across the street. Parking is difficult in Honolulu but this place has its own designated parking place in the building. nice. It's decorated with beautiful things, and the kitchen and bathroom are completely upgraded. We didn't want to leave. Comfortable, breezy and perfect.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay in this fabulous apartment very much. The place is well equipped, and nicely furnished/decorated. Bed is so comfy, temperature was perfect! My wife and I and our seven year old son stayed for five weeks in July and part of August. The unit is like new with a fully stocked gourmet kitchen and furnished with elegant designer furniture. The owner fully utilized the space with ample storage in the remodeled bathroom and living area. Located on Oahu's coveted Gold Coast, the unit has stunning turquoise ocean views, as you can see from the photos on the website. The building is private and secure with attentive management. We loved our daily walks into Waikiki and going to the beach in front of the Condo. The laundry room has all new machines- four washers/dryers and we never waited to do our laundry. We had one issue not worth mentioning and e-mailed the landlord, Roger Lane. He responded immediately and even came to the unit the next day to make sure our concerns were satisfied. We most definitely will stay here again for our next trip to Honolulu! This unit is highly recommended for anyone looking to stay at an exclusive condo on the beach.

My job took me to Hawaii for 3 weeks so I needed a place close to downtown and at the same time quiet and safe. The Colony Surf is a great building, wellmanaged and perfectly maintained - and there's a wonderful french restaurant right on the ground floor. The windows push back so that there is an huge unobstructed view of the ocean and in front of the window is a large sofa that's perfect for lounging, or reading a book, or a nap. Across the street is Kapolioani Park, - I managed to join the runners and walkers most every day. Waikiki is just up the street. I was very comfortable for my entire stay and luckily I was able to extend the stay for a week after my work assignment ended.
