This property is in a good location to access all the things London has to offer, but that is the only good thing I can say about it. It is advertised as a luxury apartment and it may have been when originally remodeled, but it is not being maintained. It advertises a lift, but when we checked in we were told to drag our bags down the outside stairs and the lift was not mentioned. We spent alot of time trying to get the built in coffee maker to work only to be told when we called that it was inop. No coffee maker/french press was supplied until we called the next day and then no filters or coffee were provided. The safe in the second bedroom was broken. The outdoor patio was filthy and moldy, yes it was winter, but still no excuse. If there was an alarm system and a video entry system there were no instructions as to how they worked. As a matter of fact there virtually no instructions of any kind as to how things functioned. The internet had a very limited range from the desk in the hallway. Only one phone was working, not phones in all rooms as advertised and did not find a fax machine. The combination washer/dryer did a very bad job of drying - basically useless. Daily maid service is advertised and we did not get maid service the first day - and there was a scarcity of hand towels in the bathrooms and hardly any kitchen linens. Several lights were inop (mentioned this and one new bulb was left in the apartment), the exhaust fan in the second bath did not work and the grill cover was filthy, one of the recessed lights in the second bath was falling out of the ceiling, the caulk in the tub area was moldy and in general the place had not been cleaned well. But if you enjoy listeneing to the Underground all day long then this apartment is for you.

We arrived well before check-in time but the manager graciously allowed us to store our luggage in the apartment while it was readied for us. She seemed genuinely concerned that the previous tenant had left shortly before we arrived. We had not expected to be able to check in as early as we arrived and were delighted to not have to worry about where to park our luggage while we went to lunch at a local pub. The location was delightful; walking distance to Paddington (though probably not with luggage). Loads of restaurants very close by -- a hotel next door with a very good restaurant. Taxis were always available within a block walk. Another block or two and you're walking in Hyde Park. The apartment was luxuriously furnished. Beds were comfortable. Furniture was 'trendy' and easy on the eye. Everything was very clean -- obviously changes were made after th previous review. The kitchen had everything one could desire -- including a cabinet full of instruction books! There is a built-in expresso-maker, a plate warmer, a microwave, over, cook-top, dishwasher, and the kitchen is fully stocked with glasses, plates, utensils, pots and pans. There's a Tesco Express a short walk away so you can pick up items to cook if you desire. And a Starbucks nearby to get the coffee beans for the expresso maker. (Don't have the beans ground -- the unit does that for you.) The master bath is very luxurious. Not only is there a large, jetted tub, there's a stand-alone shower that is huge! You could have a dance in the bathroom! The living room is quite comfortable. The a/c worked great -- since we'd just come from the Arctic, we weren't ready for temperatures of 70 degrees. I can't speak highly enough of this apartment. We'll definitely consider it for our next stay in London. Oh! Almost forgot! There's an elevator so it is simple to get your luggage down to the apartment. And it has a private street entrance. And the greatest lock on the doors that I've ever seen! Wish I could have it at home!

Very Poorly Managed Property

The good things about this apartment are that it is well located and very spacious. It is literally 2 minutes to Hyde Park and 10 minutes at most to the tube. The property is also beautifully and expensively furnished. Unfortunately, this property is not managed well. Here are the problems we encountered. -Floors and furniture dirty enough to write your name on them. -Living room rug stained with black scuffs and reddish/brown stains. -Wood floors scuffed and scratched. -Paint cracked and pulling away from the corners in the hallway. -Very musty and damp smell in the guest room bathroom. -Dozens of cigarette butts littering the ground of the outdoor patio. -Blood stains on the linens in the master bedroom. -Fungus/mold in the master bathroom shower. -Jetted tub and television in master bathroom not working. I contacted the manager with pictures of all these problems. He put me on the phone with the housekeeper, who was crying. That was awkward to say the least. I suggested to the manager to give me a refund for a night or two of my 5 night stay. He said he'd talk to someone about it, but nothing has happened so far. He did offer me a bottle of champagne or a free night at the property. Unfortunately, this was my 2nd trip to Europe in 20 years and I probably won't be back for a long time. -
