We offer breathtaking Italian countryside and a pool with Rome's historic center a short metro ride away. The metro Roma Nord green line runs every 10 minutes, our station is Montebello, heading north from Piazza del Popolo. Flavor of Italy is a comfortable, inviting family-owned and run property. We offer top quality service and facilities, from beautiful, and spacious rooms very tastefully decorated to the personal help we offer in planning your travel itinerary and booking museums and galleries.
Owner and chef Wendy prepares optional mouthwatering breakfasts daily and optional dinners. Meals are served on a flower-laden terrace in warm weather, overlooking the mountains, and in a cozy "tinello" during the winter, usually with a roaring fire. (Available only for our B&B customers and optionally for apartment renters).
We offer private cooking classes, culinary adventures and food & wine tours that will make your stay unforgettable!
The bedrooms at Flavor of Italy can comfortably accommodate two or more people and most have a separate entrance to the relaxing pool area.

We built our villa so we could enjoy one of Rome's most incredible pieces of property: 2 1/2 hectares with amazing views in every direction and a gorgeous pool, along with easy access into Rome's historic center by metro. Other historic landmarks and picturesque locations are a short drive away.

Our guests spend all day touring Rome's sites or other parts of the spectacular Lazio region and then relax in the evening at Flavor of Italy and enjoy the affordable, tourist free restaurants nearby. Our breakfasts (available only to B&B customers) are scrumptious and abundant and enough to tide guests over until dinnertime. We are happy to help guests with any museum, art gallery, trains or other assistance.

My husband and I own and operate Flavor of Italy located in north Rome. We also run an on-site cooking school and culinary vacation company. Our customers particularly enjoy our food and wine tours to undiscovered spots throughout Italy. Our wood burning pizza oven allows us to organize enjoyable pizza nights with our guests who all say ours is the best pizza they have ever tasted!

The view is breathtaking, but the apartment is not even close. One bedroomwith adjoining bath is fine. The second bedroom shares space with the dining and living room area. The small kitchen which shares with the laundry and the third bedrrom are reached by walking through this second bedroom. This third bedroom is dark, windowless and airless. Be forewarned that you must provide your own toilet paper and dishwashing soap. The kitchen is poorly outfitted and unattractive .The third bathroom is located outside up a flight of stairs. Web access is available at the owner's convenience, There is nothing available within walking distance, so a car is an absolute necessity not merely a suggestion. When I rented the owners were still providing transportation to the train station. A few weeks prior to arrival I was told they had stopped this convience, despite the fact thatit was still being advertised on their website and on printed postings in the apartment. The pizza dinner arranged was very overpriced for what was included;in addition to pizza, only a small green salad and two and a half bottles of local wine. The torte made for my birthday was a gift as well as the gelato which never reached my guests. I tried re negotiaing the price after I returned home ( not wanting to make an issue of it when I had six more days to spend here, but the owner was intracable and justified the cost. espite the promise of arranging for museums and attractions all that was provided were websites where you could make your own reservations. I do commend the owner for arranging for a dental appointment when my daughter-in-law had an emergency, We also found her husband charming. Being of Italian descent, I know a thing or two about hospitality. I found this in short supply. After arriving from overseas on a long flight, there was no provision for a drink or a bite to eat. Our host drove us into town to buy provisions and did treat two of us to a cappuccino and a small sandwich for my daughter-in-law. It was here that I learned about the need to purchase toilet paper and paper towels. I was advised that I would probably need the same in Florence..not true!!! The two local restaurants which were recommended were fine; you do need a car to get there. Be forewarned, there is nothing within walking distance. The swimming pool is fine. Saint Peter's is indeed within view if someone points it out to you, I would not recommend Flavor of Italy

While the B&B is a bit out of Rome (~20 minutes by train), we found it nice to get out of the city each day. The breakfasts were fabulous, the Hosts so charming and very kind to transport us to and from the train station and restaurants in the evenings, as well as helpful in planning our daily excursions - we highly recommend a day trip to Sperlonga - and the seaside restaurant there ... the name eludes me but Wendy will know :). The rooms were exceptional - very clean, very large by European standards and charming in decor. The view outstanding! We have all ready recommended Flavor of Italy to friends and hope to be able to return soon ourselves. You will have a wonderful time here!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.

When my husband and I decided to take our four children to Rome, we wanted to be close to the bustle and energy of the city, but still experience the serenity of the Roman countryside. Staying the the Flavor of Italy was the perfect compromise between both worlds. The property itself is beautiful, and the proprietors, Wendy and Maurizio, were positively charming and delightful, not to mention a wealth of information on where to go and how to get there. Every morning for eight days, they cheerfully drove all six of us to the station where we took a train into the city, and faithfully retrieved us in the evening. They made every effort to accommodate us, our children, and our friends who flew in from Germany for an over-night stay. Our apartment was spacious, clean, quiet and safe--and despite the cool May weather, our kids loved taking evening dips in the pool. If you are traveling to Rome with children, this really is the best place to stay. I recommend the Flavor of Italy without hesitation. We had a fabulous time with no regrets.
