McQueeney house description
Cypress Breeze Guesthouse is a very comfortable, relaxing and fun family getaway. It is located on one of the highest points overlooking the lake, with a huge yard and the sound of the wind blowing through the 100+ year old cypress trees along our waterfront deck below. Cypress Breeze has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. One bedroom has 2 queen size beds and a TV. The second bedroom has 2 double beds and a single size futon. The living room has a sleeper sofa in front of the fireplace, a TV, stereo and DVD player. The living room has a sliding glass door opening onto a covered patio overlooking the lake. There is a full kitchen and dining area that seats 6. There is a picnic table and BBQ grill on the patio.
We are 5 to 10 minutes by boat or car from Lake Breeze Ski Lodge Club or Ski Masters Water Ski Camp. Our water front includes a boat slip and jet ski ramp on our wood deck underneath the biggest cypress tree you have ever seen! Then again, you could just swim or float in the lake, read a book under the cypress trees or on the patio or do absolutely nothing.
Lake McQueeney is the water ski capitol of Texas. Bring your boat and jet skis. Fishing is also very popular on the lake, especially in spring and fall when the skiers leave. We are 15 minutes from New Braunfels, where you can enjoy Schlitterbahn, Gruene and the quaint historical German heritage found there. For golfers, The Bandit Golf Course, just 5 minutes away, is rated the #7 golf course in Texas by 'Golf Week.' For shoppers, find a deal at The San Marcos Outlet Malls, about 20 minutes away. Texas Lutheran University in Seguin is about 10 to 15 minutes away.

“Cypress Breeze Guesthouse”
“Cypress Breeze Guesthouse”
“Cypress Breeze Guesthouse” Perfect is the word. Plenty of parking with privacy between adjoining properties. Front porch welcoming with 2 large plants at the door. Enter to Kitchen on right, living room area with several sliding doors looking out to full covered porch with multiple chairs and oversized picnic table looking out on Lake McQueeny. To left when entering two large bedrooms and hall bathroom. Master bedroom with private bathroom. Outside looking out from covered front porch a well groomed grass lawn with no weeds welcoming bare feet. Stairs lead down to a large dock side with large wooden glider and two large wooden outside chairs and tables between all for your drinks. Ladder leading off dock to climb into you kayaks. And boat dock for your ski boat. To left you see Treasure Island Bridge. Everything was perfect for Labor Day weekend with friends and family celebrating with the Band “Where’s Renee” featuring Bahama Billy. We did it all; barbecued, Kayaked, cruised on ski boat, danced, talked sipped wine and beer. This is supreme and lacks nothing; sun, shade, space and fully equipped. Thank You. Will return often.

Perfect Family Getaway
Perfect Family Getaway
This was my first visit to McQueeney, but it certainly will not be my last... With my folks living in Las Vegas, my brother in Austin, and my family in Houston, we usually plan 3 or 4 long weekends per year to meet up and spend time together. But we all really enjoy "doing something" around our visits. This occasion it was wake-boarding and water skiing (or boating in general). Jim's place was the perfect match for what I was looking for. The house was clean, comfortable, and exactly as advertised. We prepared and enjoyed every meal, minus one lunch, there together. And around meals we swam in the river, jumped off the rope swing, and threw bumpers for our lab til our arms felt like they would fall off. The dock offered jet ski ramps which provided the pooch a way out of the water on his own as well as a slip where you can tie off a boat should you bring one. As expected, there was a decent amount of traffic on the water over the weekend (less so during the week), but this place had a totally different feel to it compared to lake Travis, lake Austin, or Conroe. Fellow boaters here just seemed a little more "chilled", more observant, and in much better control. Even at the busiest times, I never felt like the folks behind the boat were in danger like I have at other lakes. Apart from the water sports, the expansive dock offered a great place to have a relax under the shade trees, have a drink, and catch up with the family. The back porch offered the same while grilling. Inside there is an excellent A/C system to cool you off quickly. There were also board games and typical TV / DVD player setups for when the evening began to wind down. The beds were extremely comfortable, there was great water pressure and plenty of hot water in the showers... Really, I can't think of anything that was missing. Given more time, we might have ventured into SA or NB (both are very accessible), but we didn't feel the need to go anywhere. I would say that is a sign of a comfortable place. We will certainly return for more R&R! Our thanks to Jim for his outstanding hospitality...

We had a wonderful time. The view of the lake from the house was quite beautiful. The activity on the lake with water skiers and boaters kept things interesting. We had a good time swinging from the rope in the tree and jumping into the water. The trees were spectacular. The house was very nice. Even though it poured we really enjoyed ourselves. We really loved sitting on the dock watching life go by.

We had a short stay over Spring Break, but enjoyed the time. The house sits high over the lake with a nice view. There is a dock to launch our kayaks. The house was very clean and had all the towels, plates, pots etc. we needed. It has Wi-Fi, a DVD player and TV with a HMDI connection, if you want to connect your own laptop. It is close to many sites around San Marcos and New Braunfelds. We would look to rent again. Also, the owner was very prompt in answering all our questions.

Wow! … what a wonderful retreat. Close (7 miles from New Braunfels and about 5 from Sequin, and 30 miles from San Antonio), this is a very nice waterfront property. The exterior is spacious. The front yard extends for about a city block through a pecan orchard. The back yard has terraces down to the lake. There are 43 concrete steps, ,with a hand rail, down to the dock which has 2 jet ski ramps and a boat slip. It is just beautiful to fish, sunbathe, or read on the dock. There are several chairs and a glider on the dock The inside is well equipped to handle a family outing. The master bedroom has two queen-sized beds in a beautiful spacious room overlooking the lake. There is a full bath with tub and lots of room in the walk in closet. There is an additional closet for storage of linen and towels. The second bedroom is also pretty large overlooking the lake with two double beds and a fold out single. Lots of storage there too. Televisions on local antennae are available in the bedrooms. The Living area is large overlooking the lake with multiple sliding glass doors. There is a nice sized dining area in the family areas with a large fireplace. There is a hide a bed sofa in this area. There is also a television equipped with a Time Warner tuner and a DVD player.along with a boom box type setup for music. The kitchen is well stocked with a large refrigerator/freezer, small oven, microwave, stove top burners, toaster, coffee-maker, and all the utensils/cooking apparatus you need. There is plenty of silverware, china and serving dishes. The owner Jim, is very easy to work with and the property managers are always nearby. This is a well-organized and efficient operation.

This house on Lake McQueeney was an EXCELLENT choice! It was extremely clean and the views of the cypress trees and the lake are beautiful! We bought tubes and floated on the lake all weekend. It was so relaxing. I definitely will rent this house again in the future. Bridget
