This wonderful 3 bedroom 2.5 bath home is the perfect place for a memorable family vacation. The home has just been remodeled and features a family room with TV, a huge living area with TV, screened in back porch with a view of the lagoon, new swimming pool and private dock for fishing and crabbing. There is also a private dining area with seating for 6-8, an updated kitchen with new appliances and three bedrooms two with TV. One of the bedrooms has a private bath and the other two share a bath. Bedding consists of a king, queen and two twins. There is also a queen sleeper.
Each rental will receive a choice of two free bikes or a free kayak rental. During peak season Palmetto Dunes provides free shuttle service within Palmetto Dunes and Shelter Cove which has shopping and numerous restaurants.
There are endless family activities to enjoy. There are bike trails throughout the Palmetto Dunes Plantation and the pristine, private beach is a 15 minute easy walk or a 5 minute bike ride. The renowned Palmetto Dunes Tennis Center is a 10-15 minute bike ride and there are 3 world class golf courses within Palmetto Dunes. Families can also explore the extensive PD lagoon system by boat or kayak, fish or crab off your own private dock or simply relax by the pool. Stop by the general store at lunch time for the best fried chicken on Hilton Head.

Nice House, But Needs Attention

This is a very nice house, but it was really in need of some attention when we stayed there (July 2010). There was a leaky pipe under the sink, many of the lamps had no bulbs or burned-out bulbs, and there were so many bugs there that my daughter was afraid to go to sleep the first night. In addition, we couldn't get the DVD player to work. The remotes associated with it and the television it was attached to didn't work (maybe needed batteries, maybe weren't the right remotes for those machines?). After several phone calls, we got a visit from the exterminator, which helped with the bugs. Then the toilets started causing trouble. At one point, there were three of us staying there with only one working toilet. We made multiple phone calls but never saw a plumber. Finally we gave up because we didn't want to spend our whole vacation on the phone with the rental office. It's basically a very nice house in a great location, but it would have been a lot more pleasant if everything (lamps, toilets, DVD player) had worked. On the plus side, the pool was great, the beds were comfortable, and everything in the kitchen seemed to function well.
