Didn't think it was possible, my second stay at the apartment was more enjoyable than the first. The owners are continually making little refinements. Imagine my delight in finding a sewing box, unheard of in a vacation rental. Have booked, another 10 days for 2012. Checking dates for 2013. Clearly, we find this Paris retreat a most wonderful place.

Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, people with disabilities.

My Dream Vacation Home in Paris

This was my 2nd trip to Paris, and I chose Montparnasse because I loved the combination of resident living and tourist excitement that this neighborhood seems to blend seamlessly. However, this apartment was beyond my expectations in terms of comfort, space, beauty, and light. I immediately felt at home, and was welcomed by everyone I encountered, from the neighbors to the local shopkeepers. Everything you need is within walking distance--transportation, food, shopping, nightlife (hello 'Cafe Tournesol'!--a loud bar with friendly waitstaff, which you might enjoy if you're under 40 or are just young at heart), and Les Jardins du Luxembourg. I walked from the apartment to the heart of St. Germain and beyond almost every day. I loved the bakery on Rue Delambre (make sure to try the pistachio pastry that is some sort of special with 'Delambre' in the name--sorry, don't recall it exactly) and the two Nicolas wine shops that are just around a few corners. Also, don't miss whatever is being exhibited at La Fondation Cartier, a stone's throw around the corner and to the right, my 2nd favorite museum (after the Lourvre, of course) that, although small, is singularly dedicated to one artist at at time. Beautiful building. The best part of my stay, however, is dealing stress-free with Karim both before and during my stay. Everything was made very easy and he was such a delight to deal with. No surprises and, as one other person mentioned, the pictures posted here don't do justice to the actual apartment. It is a testament to his pleasantness and wonderful home that people leave gifts behind to express their gratitude for being given the opportunity to stay there. Thank you Karim and I hope to have the pleasure of staying in your lovely home next year!

This apartment and the surrounding neighborhood were all I could have asked for in a "Paris Experience". The space is modern and open, with a kitchen fully equipped for any culinary endeavor. The furnishings are very comfortable ie. large L shaped, feathered cushion sofa, modern dining table with extension. All appliances are recent, large open shower a pleasure. Nothing is "fussy", just functional and attractive. The owners were very attentive and friendly. The neighborhood is lovely, a quiet boulevard leading to an lively area filled with cafes and shops. Several metro stops and easy walking to St. Germain and the Latin Quarter made this a perfect spot from which to launch my daily adventures. Hopefully it will be yours as well.

Handy To All

Modern, bright, comfortable, and handy to all manner of cafes, bistros, and delectable restaurants. A short stroll to both Metro and rail stations, and as a bonus, a huge, twice weekly market just out the door. Just far enough away from the tourist throngs of Paris. We will be back.

Charming Apartment in the heart of Montparnasse

We want to thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful apartment. It was bright, comfortable, and included all the amenities. We found it to be even better than the pictures and description. And although for the past 14 years we have stayed just a few blocks away, we learned about a whole new neighborhood. Also, this was the first time in our many visits to Paris that we stayed in an apartment and it was a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend your apartment to anyone interested is a truly unique Parisian experience.

An excellent place to stay for a Paris Vacation

I just returned from Paris where I stayed with a friend for a week. This apt. is everything the listing says it is, and then some. It was easy to get to, quiet, clean, well stocked with everything necessary for comfort, including a wonderful kitchen and good sized refrigerator. The owners were a delight to work with and answered our questions whenever we felt stumped by something unfamiliar. Access to transportation and sightseeing was easy from here. I would recommend this apt.without reservations to any family or friends who might be wanting a place to stay in Paris. It gets all five stars IMO.

I love this bright, clean apartment. Photo's very accurate. What they didn't show was the owners attention to detail when they remodeled & high end kitchen making this apartment tower above most vacation rentals. Easy walk to 3 metros, shopping, good restaurants, train station for day trips out of town & the wonderful street markets. The owner's are great, went above & beyond in assisting us with tourist type questions. Agree with all good things said in previous reviews! Will I return? Yes.

We have just spent a week in this beautiful apartment and would not hesitate recommending it to family and friends. It was very clean and well appointed, warm and cosy. Montparnasse is truly everything you promised it to be and more. From the street market to the numerous shops and restaurants and the convenience of the metro stops. The energy and hustle and bustle of the area was fantastic. What most delighted our 6 year old was the fact that the top of the Eiffel Tower was visible through the balcony window and at night the "Old Lady" lit up and sparkled. Charm and light in the heart of Montparnasse indeed!! Thank you Karim. We hope to be back soon.

We stayed in this very nice apartment for the first time in summer 2009, and are glad of our choice. The apartment is lightful, calm, was very well remodelled recently and is nicely furnished and equipped. Location is ideal, within 100m of all transportation and shopping, and the owners were very helpful when arranging the details of my stay. I highly recommend this place and will for sure come back next time we return to Paris !

We have had a wonderful time in Paris, in no small part due to this very pleasant, well-appointed apartment. It is bright, airy, quiet, is very well- appointed and well-situated with easy access to the Metro and buses. We have appreciated the very good street market on Blvd. Edgar Quinet, along with other amenities and very pleasant and helpful owners. We will surely hope to return!
