The Yellow Cottage is a charming family summer home on beautiful Fair Haven/Little Sodus Bay. The cottage has 100 feet on the Bay providing expansive views of the water and beautiful summer sunsets. The cozy living space is furnished and the kitchen equipped to make your stay a comfortable vacation respite. The screened-in porch is great for comfortable summer dining and relaxing with a good book. A propane heater is available for cool weather comfort.
Fair Haven is a quaint village with vintage architecture. There is a library, grocery store and scenic waterfront dining. Fourth of July festivities include a parade, carnival and fireworks over the Bay preceded by a spectacular wall of fire around the Bay. Large boat docking/mooring is available. Evening hot spots often have a DJ or live music.
A short 3/4 of a mile down the road are the sandy beaches of the Fair Haven State Park. The Park also offers fishing, hiking, golfing and family oriented activities. A short distance away can also be enjoyed the Sterling Valley Nature Center, the Renaissance Festival(weekends July),antique shops and local artisans. Oswego State University is 1/2 hour away, Rochester, Finger Lakes Winery Trails and Syracuse are 1 hour away and Buffalo (Niagara Falls) and the Thousand Island area 2-3 hours. Seneca Falls, Genesee Country, Six Flags and shopping outlets are all comfortable day trip destinations.

Dear Lynn, The weekend end was Perfect and My parents were thrilled; we picked the perfect spot for their 25th anniversary get-away. The cottage is well-kept and very cozy, and the choice of gathering areas: screen porch, living room, or water-side patio really contribute to enjoying all the different changes in the day and weather - just what a water-front cottage should be. Our family recently enjoyed a lovely July week at The Yellow Cottage. Although small, this cottage is pleasantly cozy and comfortable. We especially enjoyed meals on the enclosed porch, restful days sitting on the inviting lakeside grass, and most of all the outstanding sunsets. The bay water temperature was in the low 70's which was great for swimming and boating. FairHaven State Park is within walking distance and offers a variety of outing possibilities. If you like quiet, restful vacation spots, you will enjoy The Yellow Cottage.

The week going into Labor Day weekend is avaialable and I would rent the week through Monday of Labor Day for a reduced rate if you are interested. We stayed at the Yellow Cottage in July and found it very enjoyable. The property is right on the bay with a spectacular view and an expansive lawn in front of the cottage. We definitely would stay here again.
