We had such a wonderful time, couldn't say enough good things about it. We got lucky with great sunshine the whole time. The views from the beachhouse are amazing, and the house itself is so homey, super clean, and I loved the decor. The kitchen was great! I would be happy to just stay at the house and on the beach the whole time. There were also so many sights to see close by and things to do that we weren't able to do everything in one trip. (Newport, lighthouses, Seal Rock tide pools, etc.) But we will definitely be back! We ate at The Adobe with incredible views, and Heidi's had great pizza. I would definitely recommend both places. It was the perfect vacation for relaxing and enjoying. It's the best vacation my husband and I have taken so far :).

In this home of yours came together our family. The Elders from Tucson, the middle kids from Portland and the teenager from Carver, MA. Our time spent here has bonded us in wonderful ways. Explorations on the beach, treasure hunting--all of us being wild and free. We cooked fine meals together and enjoyed them in the great room. Games were played, laughter filled the air and together we became a stronger family. This lovely home helping us to create everlasting memories. We had a wonderful week here. We enjoyed the 4th of July with the LaDeDa Parade and fireworks over Yachats Bay, all the beauties of Cape Perpetua, running on the beach, playing together as a family and with our Golden Retriever, and watching movies with the view of the ocean over our shoulders!! Another fabulous chance to get our "SecondWind" We love it here and had to get out when your regular week in Aug was cancelled ( we'll all be in Mali for 10 months!) Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful beach home with us. We enjoyed the gas stove in the mornings with a cup of coffee and the upstairs gathering room with the deck during the rest of the day. Both upstairs and downstairs have beautiful views. We enjoyed everything about our stay and look forward to returning in the near future. PS,, we had dinner at the Drift Inn which was excellent.

What a beautifully rejuvenated house to spend a 40th birthday week in. The beach access is perfectly gradual for our old dog's tired hips, the location just past the 804 trail's entrance to the beach ideal & Yachats as charming and diverse a beach town as we remember it from last summer. We hiked the Perpetua trail, saw some roiling wave action at Devil's Churn, enjoyed an above average dinner in the perfect corner table at Ona and enjoyed SecondWind's deck greatly. We saw whales-so strange for July, but the neighbors also saw the spouts and enjoyed watching the rabbits munch and frolic in the yard. We even walked the beach to Waldport. I'd never walked continuously on sand from one town to another--our reward was a cold pitcher at the restaurant on the bay. A lovely time.. Thank you, we will be Back

Thanx so much for offering your lovely home to us ;-)) We really appreciated the "furry friendliness" of the place--our boys Chester and Ditto loved it. We just loved Second Wind. It was perfect for my husband, myself, and our two dogs. Everything was immacualte and felt like home as soon as we walked in the door. The close proximity to the beach made it so easy to take lots of beach walks and exercise "the boys". The house is very "furry" friendly and easy to clean after our beach excursions. The gathering room is wonderful-lots of ocean watching and relaxation. Yachats is so close to some of the other places of interest, but we enjoyed the home so much that we just stayed close to home! I would hightly recommend this place to anyone who wants an ocean gettaway-there is plenty of space and we look forward to visiting again in the future and bringing friends and family. Thanks Bari and crew for providing us with a great place to stay for our Spring Break. Thank goodness the home was so hospitable, since the weather was downright frightful! And to think we could view it all through the gigantic windows in the Gathering room. Our canine family members really loved the place as well,, Thanks again! from Robin,,, We had loads of fun in this amazing home and the beautiful surroundings. The kids and dogs loved playing on the beach, looking for shells and rocks, lacrosse in the sand, jumping from caves to water falls to rocks. The 804 Trail is fabulous! Once inside, we enjoyed the many views, games, puzzles and fixing treats in the kitchen. Thanks so much for opening your home to guests!

I love all the books upstairs in the Gathering Room. I loved watching the waves. My son is a senior this year so he may not be with us next year for Spring Break, so this was a special trip at a special home. Loved the chirpin of all the frogs too.

Spring Break from Idaho. This is our fourth vacation rental in this area and is by far our favorite! The views from upstairs are fantastic. Rain kept us inside most of the time, but we did have one nice day to fly kites and play on the beach. We will definetely try to come back here again. Thanks!!

Spring Break at SecondWind!! The forecast was grim, but the sun graces us several times--three sunsets out of three evenings. What a treat. We loved our time in the welcoming space of SecondWind, such a calming place. The home is just right! Clean, comfortable and so cute. And the furnishings are in great condition--plus a new propane grill! (these owners really listen to their guests requests ;-)) We cherish the beautiful surroundings right outside the door--it's like a private reserve. Thanks so much!!

We arrived just in time for the Tsunami warnings and evacuations. Up all night, then drove to Cape Perpetua to watch the waves. Did see the tide rise, but then got so sleepy we came back and slept on the couches up in the Gathering room and probably missed the best part. We figured we'd be pretty safe on the second floor. Slept through a beautiful, sunny, Yachats day catching up from the night before. Great house, great views. Looking forward to a return trip that is more settled. Love the Gathering Room upstairs, we worked on our taxes and watched the ocean along with some bad cable TV. Thanks for sharing this place.

We arrived under high winds and rain, but immediately felt the warmth and comfort of SecondWind. Morning and afternoon beach walks were enjoyed by our two kids, Monty the dog and of course the adults! This was the perfect place to meet up with relatives from Bend. Really enjoyed our stay at SecondWind. And what an appropriate name---it was the perfect place for us to relax and "unwind" from our busy lives at home. We enjoyed watching movies, reading, and having dinner in the Gathering Room, where we could see and hear the ocean. It was also perfect for morning coffee and tea. My husband got in a little surf fishing from the beach right behind the house, and I brought some music books with me and enjoyed playing the piano "like no one was listening", since I'm a little "rusty". We enjoyed wonderful meals and entertainment at the Drift Inn and Lunasea, and love the friendly people in Yachats. One of the best places on the Oregon Coast.

It stormed the entire time! All surroundings are flooded! It's impossible to walk to the beach because the path & 10 feet on both sides are under 6" of water. It's amazing that the windows and skylights didn't leak. You can't imagine the force of this storm. This is the first time we haven't been able to get out on the beach at all. We all miss it!! Everything at the house was great. We stayed warm and dry. We'll be back--We will expect our usual good weather....

SecondWind will be our annual x-mas get-a-way. We have stayed a few places since we began our tradition. This worked perfect for our family! "Grand-parents" room quietly places in back "older kids" & "aunti" with their own rooms in this home and great futons which were pushed together to share our cozy vacation with our two-year-old! Just wonderful! our pup fell in love with the place also. We played games, puzzles, read, shopped in Lincoln City. What a relaxing and fabulous Christmas vacation. We will definitely be back!

We have stayed in this house in years past, and it is now so much more than we could have imagined it would or could be. The feeling we got when we walked in the door is very much one of "coming Home". You all have not only done an amazing structural change, but also one of creating a wonderful and peaceful atmosphere! We've had a wonderful week-long stay. It was raining when we arrived--imagine that! A storm front came in overnight to entertain us with crashing surf and strong winds. The gathering room is where we "lived"--watching the ocean, reading your books, eating meals and napping. Morning and late afternoon shore walks became the new norm for us and our two Goldens. The dogs ran hard but never did catch up to the gulls no matter how many times they tried. Made good use of the dog-paw washing "station". We enjoyed the Luna and the Drift Inn (live music in evenings)--both places offering delicious meals. Thank you for offering your pet and people friendly home to us.

The owners of this home have thought of everything! From a fully stocked kitchen to the bright orange marker on the beach (to find you way home) this vacation rental home is spectacular! The home has tons of personality and charm and every amenity is warm and welcoming. We were here for the 1st big storm of the season and loved every dramatic moment. That's the wonderful part of the Oregon Coast--Rain or Sun,, it's spectacular! Hopefully we can return fro a longer stay, but this weekend get away renewed our tired spirits completely. I would recommend this home to anyone. Far better than any old hotel room!!

The home was very accommodating and has all the amenities of being at home.....except the wonderful ocean view. We explored the coastal hwy and pulled off on every turn from Depoe Bay to Florence. What magnificent views. Being "desert rats" we can't wait to do this again! Each day was better than the day before and we didn't think it was possible. With great appreciation!! PS. The 2 deer this morning standing on the driveway looking in were icing on the cake.

My husband and I have been renting homes for several years on the Oregon central coast and FINALLY found the perfect vacation home for us and our dogs. It's everything we want and need in a vacation home. First of all the kitchen is big with a nice big table for family and friends. The home has a backyard for your dogs which was great! And once you walk up the stairs to the huge family room with amazing views of the ocean it takes your breath away. We've never had such a relaxing wonderful vacation as we did at this home. And right down the street there are state parks full of tidepools. We found so many starfish it was awesome! I have already been recommending this home to family and friends. We can't wait till we stay here again next summer. And the summer after that and after that.........

WOW--this place was outstanding. Close to everything, yet you feel like you have the entire beach to yourself. This is a very clean house with plenty of room and they provide everything. It is just steps to the beach. My family of 6 adults and one child stayed for four days and cannot say enough about this place and Bari (the manger) was so helpful. We saw whales right off of the deck, spent tons of time on the beach, and enjoyed days driving to all the towns around. I promise you will love this place.

Our first "Annual" (or maybe more often) Chicks weekend! Four women, three dogs, wine, food and the ocean. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful house. Waking up to the beach was fantastic, wacthing the waves while sitting by the fire was Fantastic. Walking out to make sure the beach was still there was Fantastic. All in all, the weekend was...FANTASTIC!. And we couldn't have done it without you!. We hope to come back this summer. Thanks again.

Warm and stormy. Mother loved the place immediately because of the box of Kleenex next to the front door. Two waves broke over the bank today. Birds: Brown Pelican, Western Gull, Stellar's Jay, Gold-Crowned sparrow, Crow, Mallard, Surf Scooter, Blue Heron, Bald Eagle, Anna's Hummingbird, many Sanderlings, Northern Flicker, Chickadee,, but no Cormorants this trip From mom,, I had the house to myself a lot. So I really enjoyed the Piano, or should I say,,,I really enjoyed the piano, so I had the house to myself,,, alot. ;-)))

Here with our two boys (aged 1 and 4) and blessed with SUN! Met family heading North from California and the house had a great natural separation for two families. Loved the leather chairs and the firestove. The baby held himself up at the front window all day (sorry for the hand prints ;-))..Loved the sand and hope to come back.

Gorgeous Home!,, This is our very first home rental. Everything was wonderful, Bed, towels, kitchen, TV, DVD Player, Propane stove, water and of course the ocean. We had a very nice get-away. Hope to celebrate our next anniversary here also.
