Huge Charming Apt in Williamsburg-10 Mins to Central Manhattan
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
BEAUTIFUL, simply furnished, private two bedroom apartment in Williamsburg, one of New York's most fashionable and fun areas. The apartment is very spacious-- about 1000 square feet-- with lots of room and privacy for a family or group of friends.
There is also a peaceful GARDEN that you are welcome to use. There is AC in both bedrooms.
There is a full kitchen, full bath and pull-out sofa-- the apartment will sleep 6. The apartment is the entire first floor of a 150-year-old house with high ceilings and lots of sunlight. It has a a private entry. One bed is a king, and the other is queen, and there is also a convertible sofa in the huge 'bedroom suite.' Linens and towels are provided. There is a microwave, stove, toaster, kettle, pots, pans, coffee maker, hair dryer, pack & play, etc. Also toys and kids' books.
TRANSPORT: The apartment is one block (50 yards or meters) from the subway (see the nearest blue 'M' on the map). Our stop is Grand Street on the L line- to Union Square in Central Manhattan it takes 10 minutes (I timed it!) The subway runs 24 hours. It's a very convenient line because it runs across Manhattan and connects with most other lines.
AREA: Our street is safe and residential. We are always happy to point the way to our beloved local hang-outs, including some of the best restaurants and most charming cafes in New York, as well as fashionable shopping. Williamsburg is also world-famous for its cutting edge music scene and galleries, and its mix of artists, flamboyant fashionistas and young families. (As a German friend of ours said, 'Williamsburg ist das coolste!')
KIDS: We love kids!
A HUGE ADVANTAGE over Manhattan: parking is easy to find!
WE PROVIDE: linens, towels, dishes, pots, pack & play, etc.
FEES: We require a $100 deposit by check or Paypal to hold the reservation, and prefer the rest in cash when guests arrive. The rate is $150 per night in the busy season and $140 per night from January through March. For stays over the week including Christmas and New Year's, $225 per night, unless you stay at least 7 days at this time, then it's $175 per night. For stays of three days or less there is a $50 cleaning fee. For parties of five or more there is an additional fee of $20 per person per night.
POLICY ABOUT CLEANING/CLEANING FEE: Because many people are traveling on a budget, I offer guests the option to clean themselves and not pay a cleaning fee. This includes cleaning the bathroom and kitchen, sweeping and stripping the beds, but not cleaning the sheets. If you would rather not clean, you can leave $60 for a cleaning person.
GROCERIES: There is a corner store a few feet from the house and a supermarket one block away, as well as a health food store, cafe, fish market, liquor store, pizza place, and many other food options.

Brooklyn is such an awesome place to stay when visiting NYC. Not only are there great bars and restaurants, but it's a little less crazy than Manhattan. Subway stop is literally a block away, and getting to Manhattan took 15-20 minutes most days. Apartment was clean, just the right size for 4 of us, and within walking distance of a lot of cool places to eat and drink. Cassandra provided a fun write-up of recommendations, and you won't be disappointed with any of them. We'd certainly stay here again.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This apartment was the perfect place for our family to stay while in New York. We were really surprised how close it is to the subway and how quick to get to all the sights in Manhattan. It was the reasonably priced, as well as clean, warm and cheerful. The house has a lot of character and the owner was very nice and available with directions and help. We will stay here on another visit to New York!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing.

This apartment in Williamsburg was perfect for us! We had a group of 7 people and there was plenty of space for all of us. The owner was so helpful to us before our trip, answering all of our questions and sending us recommendations of places to go and things to do. During our stay, there were some plumbing issues, but the owner took care of them promptly. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone! It was in a great location with tons of stores and restaurants really close by. The subway is about a 1 minute walk away. I was so surprised by how close we were to the subway stop. I never once felt unsafe in the neighborhood.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

My parents and I went out to NY for my sister's wedding and stayed here. It was perfect for the 3 of us. Very spacious and much more comfortable than a hotel at a better rate. Pictures on this site show what you get. The place is 150 years old so not sparkly new or anything, but well maintained, clean, and charming including fun linens. SO close to the L train that I couldn't believe it. Nice quiet neighborhood though. Owner was super friendly and we even ran into them on the subway. Since my sister lived only blocks away we didn't need help finding local restaurants or anything, but the owners were very helpful keeping us updated with local conditions including subway openings (we went shortly after Hurricane Sandy). Great place for couples or families. If I go out to visit again I will check to see if this place is available again.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

I stayed in this apartment with my husband and our 18 month old toddler for 6 nights this month and I cannot say enough about the place. Some of the main plus points are: not even a block to the subway and trains into Manhattan very quickly! Cassandra sends you all the information you need about the area and although she lives upstairs we didn't see her all week but she was available if we needed her for something. The apartment is very spacious ....especially for New York! It has everything you could possibly require....even a high chair! The price was great and I would definitely recommend it to anyone! We will be back!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

This place was amazing! The flat is gorgeous, simple, but elegant and charming. (The owner has great taste!) The beds were comfortable, with luxurious linens- a pleasant surprise. I found everything I needed in the well-appointed kitchen, the bathroom was spotless, and the owner Cassandra was welcoming and lovely. I even loved the art in the foyer! You just walk in and and feel relaxed. The listing is accurate, it's one block from the subway, close to super cool restaurants, cafes and bars- so some days we stayed in the neighborhood and it was also a great place to retreat after a full day of Manhattan museum going. It is a super quiet apartment(we had fan and didn't hear a thing) in a busy neighborhood- it was perfect. The garden even has juicy sweet conord grapes growing in it that owner told us to help ourselves to. I can't recommend this place enough. I travel a lot (with my partner and two children 4 &9) and I wish every place we stayed was as clean and cute as this place! Even good books and recent magazines in the living room. Highly recommend Lul Bean cafe, also Variety cafe on Graham, and the pizza at the corner of Graham and Metropolitan is great. We highly recommend this flat and can't wait to come back!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

My husband and I stayed here for the weekend, when we went to NY to visit our son. The apartment is spacious and so, so convenient! We were close to the subway and a short ride to everywhere we needed to go. There is a lovely backyard, where we enjoyed relaxing after a full day of walking. We were especially touched by Cassandra's kindness. We certainly recommend this apartment and we hope to return ourselves.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

my husband, toddler son and i stayed here for a week earlier this month. it was in a great location near the subway and within walking distance of many restaurants, cafes, and grocery stores. it was also near a park with a playground which was perfect for our son. cassandra was also able to provide a portable crib, and in the closet of the flat we found an umbrella stroller and some toys as well. the air conditioning in the bedrooms were also quite nice as it was rather hot and humid during our visit.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children.

My husband and I had a great stay here visiting our daughter who lives four blocks away. The apartment is so close to the subway and to local restaurants and services that we'd likely stay there again even if our daughter moves. The kitchen was equipped with basics, and we cooked dinner there one night. It was kind of scary using a gas stove and oven with no electronic starter -- we had to light the flames the old-fashioned way, with matches, but no mishaps, fortunately. All in all, the apartment was clean and comfortable. What little noise came from the street we were able to mask with the A/C set to "fan only" for some white noise. I recommend this apartment to anyone visiting the area.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.
