Our stay at the Sea Zen was such an amazing vacation for my family!! We have two young children and this was our first real trip with them and I could not have pictured it going any better. The house was set up perfect for our kids with being able to walk right out to the beach, then rinse off at the outside shower before coming into the house. Also with this being our first home rental, John was very helpful with information on what was needed and with suggestions on great places to visit while at Topsail. We can't wait until our next visit to Sea Zen!!

Perfect Vacation House

My family and I have stayed in many beach vacation homes over the years, but Sea Zen is by far the best! The views were amazing (from the living room, we could watch the sunrise and the sunset) and the house is very clean and well decorated. The owners were very easy to work with and made great recommendations for local restaurants. We can't wait to go back!

I planned our family vaction this year and chose Sea-Zen. This was our first trip to Topsail Beach and we had a blast! The beach was absolutly gorgeous, and we walked over to the sound and watched the sunset every night. We saw dolphins in the surf most every day. My step dad loved the fishing and the great seafood the area offered. Everyone in my family expressed a great time. We are already starting to plan our trip for next year.

We just returned from two weeks at Sea-Zen. The house is clean and comfortable and couldn't be closer to the beach. We really appreciated that there was not a lot of clutter or precious knickknacks so that we were not worried that our three little children would break something. Our trip was interrupted by Hurricane Irene. Fortunately, the owners were very flexible and we worked out a solution that made everyone happy. We left for the few days of bad weather so that the house could be boarded up and we were able to return as soon as the storm was over. We were so happy that we didn't have to miss the last week of our trip! Sea-Zen is a great place to spend time on the beautiful island of Topsail.

After searching all over VRBO for a rental house on the Carolina coast, we found this house located on Topsail Beach. We are a family of seven with five kids ranging from 6-1/2 to 5 months. We brought along my husband's parents, one of whom is handicapped. They stayed mainly on the top floor, usually with my father-in-law making the trip to the beach once. There are a lot of stairs; however, this house had much less than other houses on the beach. Plus, there is a HOT/cold shower outside which was FANTASTIC to wash the sand off of the kids!! Speaking of the beach, we felt we had the best spot! The house is right beside a beach access, so I was able to take our stroller from car to beach with no trouble. And, at low tide there are tidal pools where we would sit with the younger kids while my husband took the big kids 'surfing' in the waves. Fun, fun, fun! The main floor is open and airy. There aren't a lot of nicknacks which was so helpful! I didn't have to go hide things to make the house kid-friendly. There are games in the drawers underneath the TV, but our kids are really too small to use them as yet. There were many evenings where we had the sliding door open to allow the sea breeze through. Some of the screens needed repair, but that looked to be due to the deck loungers from previous renters. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pots and pans. Although there are two decks (one on top of the other), we only used the top one. I'm sure if the kids were older that we would have used both. They were a nice size overlooking the ocean with comfy lounge chairs. There were baby gates supplied that we used, but I never feel comfortable without secured gates so never let our 18 month old on the deck without us. If your kids are good with stairs, you should be fine. The washer/dryer worked well, and the lower floor was laid out well with bathrooms at either end and three bedrooms along the ocean-facing side. The twin room was in the middle of the other two queens. There was also a storage area that was large enough to hold our coolers, luggage and such in addition to closets in each room. The rooms were spacious, plenty of room to get around and not feel closed in. I really don't think the pictures did the house justice. The owners were quite helpful as well! We wanted to go out to eat one night so I emailed John who replied quickly with several choices in the area. We ended up at The Beach Shop Grill which was delicious!

Amazing Long Weekend

We wanted to get away for 4 nights and stay right on this ocean. I was so lucky to find this amazing property. The views from all the bedrooms, kitchen and living room are breath taking. The house was very clean and well equipped. We all had a wonderful time and would definitely stay at this property again. Owners are very nice.

Topsail Island is our favorite beach. Think we just found our favorite spot. Quite simply, we couldn't have been happier with our stay. Blood pressure started dropping the moment we walked through the door. The house description is spot on. The decor is serene. The modern kitchen is well equipped - the kids loved the eat-in bar. Living area is super comfy and comes stocked with a variety of games and books. Best of all, no squabbles over who gets the oceanfront bedroom - everybody does! The home is on the peaceful south end of the island. An easy walk to the Jolly Roger Pier. The owners are wonderful and accessible. We ended up staying an extra night and can't wait to come back!

Great Island Getaway

Great getaway for a girl's weekend! Great location and EVERY bedroom has a view of and private access to the beach. Have stayed at several other properties on the island and this rental process was one of the easiest. The house was very well maintained and clean. Had a wonderful time and would definitely stay at this property again.

This oceanfront home could not have been more perfect for us. LOVED how all BRs faced the ocean - what a way to wake up! Did not need for anything - the house was well equipped. Our kids LOVED the beach. We enjoyed the local seafood on the deck while the kids played on the beach. The nearby sea turtle rescue was really interesting for all. From ages 3 to 74 our family thoroughly enjoyed staying here.

AAA+ Excellent house, 4 br, we only used three of them, worth every penny. Very clean, updated, confortable, awesome location on a off street, very low traffic, next to the "best fishing hole on the island" according to local fishermen. Neighbors we very nice and curteous. The third bathroom was also hardly used by our family of 5, but our kids are young. Lots of room indoors, kitchen with plenty of space and the best views of the ocean.

Our week at Sea Zen was relaxing, beautiful and peaceful. The accommodations were very nice and location was fabulous. I would recommend this property to friends and have. The property was reasonably clean, this is the only area which I felt their could be improvement. We enjoyed our time at this property and Topsail beach.

All we have to say is "Perfectly and amazingly Beautiful!" The accommodations were fabulous! The views from each bedroom and the living room and kitchen were breathtaking. The beach is just off the last step of the deck, and the sand is gorgeous! 4 dolphins swam by less than 30 yards off shore the moment we arrived! The hot/cold shower on the deck was great to wash the sand off before going inside, and everything is very kid friendly! We have a 5, 3, and (11 week old) that had no trouble sleeping after fun in the sun!! Although we once said we would never visit the same place twice, we would definitely love to visit again! ...A Beautiful Vacation Home at Topsail Beach!
