Rue de Grenelle is one of my favourite streets in Paris. It runs from the Champs de Mars (Eiffel Tower), through the Rue Cler area (where there is the famous street market), across the Invalides (where Napoleon's tomb is located) to the trendy "Café Esplanade". I used to go there every Sunday morning for brunch and often saw Alain Delon there; he lives very close by. The street continues through the Ministry area where many beautiful sumptuous old townhouses are hidden behind unpretentious looking doors. It finally merges into the St. Germain des Pres area, where my apartment located, and ends at the "Place de Croix Rouge" where Celine's "Taurus" statue stands.

Between my apartment and the Place de Croix Rouge, the rue de Grenelle is full of shoe shops (Christian Louboutin, Serge Rossi, Iris (a well kept secret only for savvy Parisian shoppers), Patrick Cox.) and designer boutiques (Prada, MiuMui, YSL, Moschino.), only to name a few. And now you know why rue de Grenelle is my favourite streetThe apartment is in a "Directoire" style building (19th century): simple, clean with old Paris charm. There is the best cheese shop in the neighbourhood ("Barthelemy") and a beautiful rose only flower shop on either side of the entrance door. A long courtyard separates the apartment building from the street noise, and a large and clean staircase will lead you to the apartment.

I put much thought into the space and design of the apartment when I renovated it in spring 2003 to make sure that every single square foot of the 220square feet is well used. The apartment feels spacious and is comfortable, cheerful, and cosy.

The big window looks out over Parisian roofs and a small garden next door. The double sized bed is a top brand one, and the dining table can be unfolded to suit 4 persons. There is plenty of storage places in the apartment, and the kitchen is equipped with a microwave, coffee maker, tea maker, electric cookers, and many utensils. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower, and we supply the "extra soft" towels. Other modern conveniences includes a cable TV with English channels, a refrigerator with freezer, washer and dryer, telephone with an answering machine, and internet access.
