It is approached by a long private driveway and beautifully landscaped with its own private swimming pool. The layout of the house affords both privacy and communal living. It has a large open and newly renovated kitchen with granite counters, Viking, Thermador and the latest appliances.
The house contains both English antiques for ambiance and magnificent beds for comfort. The master bedroom has a Steven Swift king size bed, is adjacent to a spacious second floor living room with its own staircase that "can be joined" to two additional second floor bedrooms with their own bath and back staircase.
ROSEBUD enjoys many repeated guests who appreciate the views from decks, balconies and pool area but also relish the decor of the interior with paintings by local artists, and the wonderful dishes and accessories provided for their enjoyment.

Year Purchased: 1982
I am a 60 year old woman, a professional artist (painter, sculpture) and an architectural designer. I was married for over thirty years, have three married children and 8 grandchildren who use the house part of the summer when it is not rented. I have an apartment in New York City, enjoy traveling, museums, movies, opera, sports, fitness and life. I love cooking and entertaining and ROSEBUD reflects my diverse tastes. I have a private flying solo license and have a small sailboat on Nantucket harbor.
Why the Owner Chose Nantucket
The house was not purchased as a vacation rental, initially but as a family summer home. It became a rental property in 1993.
The Unique Benefits of this House
The pool is a wonderful exercise. It is the perfect length for a lap pool. The bike path in front of the property connects to the fabulous system of bike paths that give you the full island to explore, protected from the traffic, on a paved surface. The bedrooms are magnificently furnished. The baths are modernized and the kitchen is gourmet with amazing countertops and great appliances. I love cooking and entertaining in a house filled with art, color, antiques and lots of light. There is no need to go out to eat even though the restaurants, in town, are first rate.
