Barefoot Cabin is a beautiful 1,500 square foot cabin with wood paneled living and kitchen areas, and wood floors throughout. Bedrooms are spacious and each contains a Queen sized bed.
Although this cabin is on the mountain it has a lovely yard that is ideal for children, or just relaxing outside, without fear of falling off the mountainside. Relax in the swing, eat outside at the picnic table, or just sit and watch the view.

- Telephone: Telephone is available for local calls. Rentors need to bring or purchase a calling card in order to be able to make long distance calls from the cottage. Cell phones do not work up on the mountain.

Year Purchased: 2006
Frances and her husband Owen were both born in the Caribbean Island of Jamaica. We have 2 children, both born in Jamaica. We moved to Grand Cayman in 1975 and came to Florida in 1980. We have a Travel Agency and love to travel. Frances worked with IBM World Trade in Jamaica, and handles all the Accounting etc for the Agency.
Why the Owner Chose Hiawassee
We lived up on Red Hills in Jamaica, which is a very mountainous country. All our vacations are spent in the mountains, Our Daughters live in Atlanta and Charlotte, so we really want to retire up here eventually and be closer to our children and Grandchildren. We love the peace and tranquility we experience up here, and the beauty of the North Georgia Mountains and the town of Hiawassee.
The Unique Benefits of this Mountain Cabin
Although located just 6 miles from Hiawassee, the cabin is very central to many areas is Georgia and North Carolina - 25 miles from Helen, Georgia and tubing etc. 21/2 hours from Asheville, close to Cherokee, Bryson City and whitewater rafting, and the National Park. We are also just about 2 hours from Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and just 2 hours from Chatanooga.
