We rented during the last week of July; and had a wonderful family vacation. This home was everything we had hoped for, and more. Large rooms, new appliances and well-furnished in every room. This beautiful home has privacy, plenty of parking (so no need to move cars around anytime that someone wants to go out); and a spectacular view of First Lake and Bald Mountain. The large stable dock was excellent for swimming, fishing or just relaxing. There were plenty of comfortable Adirondack chairs on the dock and on the decks, and a nice game room in the walk-out basement with ping pong and a foosball table. Kitchen pots, pans, utensils were adequate and in excellent condition. We really liked having the long private driveway, and wooded areas around the driveway as the kids could gather sticks for camp fire kindling wood and smores. Being only 2 miles from the groceries, shopping and restaurants in Old Forge is the clincher. This is a terrific vacation home, and the photos and description are accurate and current.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

We rented this house for a week in July and it is lovely and then some. The location is great (just two miles from town), the privacy is terrific, and the house is as well apppointed as a well-furnished home. Stickley furniture, large leather couches, a huge fireplace, granite countertops, a finished basement with ping-pong and foosball( teenagers on a rainy day!), a large dock with lots of Adirondack chairs and an owner who could not have been nicer and easier to deal with. I heartily recommend this property and Thom Droz to anyone looking for a wonderful vacation property with all of the benefits and none of the hassles.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.
