Casa Viva Troncones consists of three palm-thatched roofed bungalows, or Casita, each with a private bathroom built into a natural setting and organic gardens. Each casita is a mini-suite, to provide each person in your party with privacy, all Casitas share the common area that includes the kitchen, dining, Jacuzzi and pool. Above the common area is a sleeping porch that accommodates overflow (up to 8 single beds) or is perfect for yoga, meditation, exercise or play.

"Landing in Zihuatanejo was nice enough, and then we got to Casa Viva...wow. we were blown away by the surroundings, lovely casitas, AMAZING food (homemade AND delicious: breakfast included in the basic price, lunch & dinner a bit extra) ... The whole place is so relaxing, it honestly has an effortless beauty, eco-minded-without-being-basic, 5-star-luxury-bohemian vibe (if that makes sense). Like everyone says; we should have stayed longer ... but no question, we're definitely coming back. Also, would highly recommend exploring along the coast and around the beaches (we had a car to venture out a bit) - it's hard to leave Casa Viva itself, it's so darn lovely, but the surrounding countryside & neighborhoods are very cool too!"

Why the Owner Chose Troncones
We purchased land in Troncones back in 1999 and in 2002 completed Casa Viva. At the time, we had not heard of the term "Green Building" but we had built a beach home with many green and ecologically sensitive elements. Since then, we have learned much about building green, sustainably and in a regenerative manner to restore and improve the land, habitat, air, water and health of the overall community of which we are a part. We built Casa Viva to bring people interested in these same topics under one roof, to break bread together, share ideas, enjoy, relax and come back rejuvenated and transformed.
The Unique Benefits at this Bed & Breakfast
The unique elements of the property come from unwinding and disconnected while reconnecting. Visitors that appreciate Casa Viva will both enjoy swimming in the pool and watching the many colorful birds come to drink of its water. Visitors will enjoy eating food that comes from the gardens surrounding them: mint tea and papaya in the morning, nopal and verdolaga salad in the afternoon, and much more bounty that the land offers. What guests most comment about the benefits of staying at Casa Viva is great food, eco/lux architecture and design aesthetic, complete privacy and how comfortable it feels to just be there.
Owner's Map of Troncones
David Leventhal and Sandra Kahn are proprietors of Casa Viva, their first eco-lux property located on the beach in Troncones, Mexico. Their second property, Playa Viva, is a much larger Sustainable Resort and Residence Community located 30-minutes south of Zihuatanejo. Their first major project in Mexico is a non-profit conservation project in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico that has over 350,000 acres of valuable jaguar habitat protected by conservation easements. We hope you will join us in supporting the many environmental projects we promote in Mexico including La Tortuga Feliz, a turtle sanctuary located at Playa Viva that protected over 200,000 baby turtles in 2007.
