It is on the 2nd floor (no lift) of an 18th century building, it has wooden ceiling beams, two large windows overlooking an inside courtyard, for great light and serene quiet, even though you’re in the center of the city!

Le Marais is the « in » place in Paris! You’ll find lots of art galleries, fashion boutiques, cafés with inviting terraces, restaurants -trendy as well as traditional - and wonderful food shops and markets. One of the oldest market in the city is around the corner and there is a fully equipped kitchen so you can enjoy cooking wonderful fresh food if you feel like it. All these along small quaint streets… you’re in a real neighborhood which has the feeling of a small village!

Famous museums like the Picasso, the Georges Pompidou center as well as the Place des Vosges are 10 min away. It is a 25 min walk to Notre Dame, then just cross the river and you’re on the left bank. If you are not into walking, there are convenient metros and buses right around the corner to take you all over Paris. There are maps and tips in the apartment to help you find your way around. The apartment is the middle of Filles du Calvaire – Saint Sébastien Froissart and Arts et Métiers métro stations.

Catherine was very responsive to emails and was very easy to communicate with. The location of the studio is accessible to the metro, grocery stores, banks, restaurants, cafes, laundromat, and this amazing crepe place Breizah Cafe (we went there 3 times in a week). The studio is spotless and very clean. The bed was very comfortable and evenings were quiet. I liked the extra security panel entering the apartment building. Catherine was helpful in booking us taxi once we were leaving Paris as well as looking for a places for our anniversary dinner. I would recommend this place to my friends and family if they were visiting Paris.

We really enjoyed our stay in this cute little apartment and "little" is the operative word. Everything stated in the previous reviews is true. The location is wonderful, you feel like a Parisian, the shops and restaurants are very good as well as convenient, and Catherine is absolutely wonderful to work with. The apartment is VERY well-appointed with everything you need and an ingenious use of space, however, it is smaller than many hotel rooms I've stayed in and if that bothers you, this may not be the place for you. I like a comfy reading chair and we had to sit on the bed most of the time because there is no room for a lounge chair. Also, two things not mentioned that may be problematic for larger people are the staircase and the toilet. The bathroom pictured in the listing is like many others in France with the shower and sink in one room and the toilet in it's own space across the apartment. That room is very small and at 5'3" I had trouble sitting and closing the door. Also, as stated, there is no elevator which we don't mind, but a very narrow spiral staircase leads to the apartment. We were on an extended tour of France and had a couple of large suitcases with us, and it was tight getting them up to the apartment. For us personally, none of these things made for a bad stay, but I always like to have all the information when making travel arrangements and they might matter to another traveler.

It was my first time renting an apartment for a vacation, relying only on pictures, reviews, communication and gut feeling. Everything was *perfect*, from the initial contact, all the way until our departure. Catherine has the most charming place! The apartment is very well located, in the Marais district, 5 minutes from a metro (subway) station, 15 min walk to the Seine river. Everything you need is within walking distance: groceries, bakeries, bars, cafes, restaurants, shops, laundromat, etc. The pictures posted here are showing exactly what you are getting: a small yet cozy, warm, safe and quiet place, perfect for 2 people. We will never forget our stay here and we'll look for it when we come back again!

Me and my wife were in this cozy studio in April 2012. First, the location. You can walk to Rue de Rivoli in 15 minutes. The oldes market just around the corner so you can buy produce, cheese and even wine there! All the metro stations within 10 minutes walking. The studio itself is nice and everything inside was done with great taste. All necessities are there, even the saw kit! All the restaurants(even jewish kosher) within short distance. Cable TV, Wi-Fi Internet I used every day. The building is very secure, two entrance doors with electronic locks. And the owner, Catherine was amazing. We came late in the evening but she arranged everything to meet us there. Highly recommend to anybody who would like to relax after running through Paris every day!

The best place to start is with Catherine, the owner. Throughout a flurry of airline snafus and scheduling troubles, she was there at every inconvenience to lend a helping hand. When the airline lost our bag, she was gracious enough to be the contact point for its return, even though they called her very late in the evening. She was accommodating with check-out time and kind enough to help us find bus routes, metro stations, and taxis. My girlfriend and I had separate arrival times, and a taxi, which she arranged, was waiting for me when I arrived (late) at the airport. The apartment itself is a gem. It's tucked away in lovely courtyard complex and there is literally no noise to be suffered--very nice after a long day of scooting around busy Paris. The bed is splendid and there are a ton of wonderful little bakeries and cheese shops all over the neighborhood. The National Archives is just down the street, and the Seine is only a ten minute walk down Rue de Archives, which is just around the corner. It is warm in wet and windy weather, and well lit. The kitchen is small, but there's plenty of room to make a nice breakfast and a big enough refrigerator to store whatever you may need for a short stay. We truly had a special time here and will look to repeat our visit soon.

My husband and I booked this apartment for 6 nights at first and were so impressed with the location, layout of the studio apartment and the helpfulness and friendliness of the owner, Catherine, that we booked it again for another 4 nights 3 months later. The location is ideal - right in the heart of Le Marais district, which has an abundance of cafes, restaurants, markets, parks and fashion stores (and there is a really great Boulangerie/bakery [Chez Mason?] around the corner for croissants, pain au chocolat and baguettes for breakfast!). It is about a 5-minute walk from the nearest metro and only a 15-minute stroll to the Le Seine. The apartment is so well-equipped, clean and well-maintained that there is no reason to not feel right at home. Catherine provided a helpful guide, which contains tips, maps and contacts and makes it a bit easier to find restaurants, grocery stores and shops around the district - perfect for first-timers in Paris. If/when we return to Paris - this is where we will stay again...

My husband and I just returned from a week in Paris. This was our first experience with vrbo but will not be the last. The apartment has everything you could possibly need although a couple of more towels would be nice. We did not cook much but loved having the american style coffee maker for the morning and it was great having the fridge to keep our cheese and cold drinks in. We walked to all of the sights from here and felt perfectly safe being out in the wee hours of the morning. The pictures on the website are very accurate, the description was wonderful and it was extremely clean. Catherine was excellent both with emails before we got there, providing direction from the airport and answering any questions. As we had a very early flight home, and our French is very limited, she looked after booking a cab to the airport for us. She is like an old friend. We would recommend this apartment home to anyone and would not hesitate to stay there again. Thank you Catherine for helping make our first Paris trip so enjoyable.

This well appointed apartment is ideally situated in the heart of the Marais with restaurants, supermarkets and transport within easy walking distance. With so many cafes nearby it is difficult to choose the best, but all tastes and budgets are catered for. The apartment is secure and overlooks a pleasant courtyard entrance. Catherine is a wonderful host and is very helpful with advice to solve the little problems that many travellers encounter. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to our friends.

          Owner info

          Year Purchased: 1992

About the owner: My husband and I moved to Provence in 1992 and couldn't leave Paris totally, so we bought this 'pied à terre' . My work takes me around the world half the year and made me realize that vacations were to be spent in a home and not in an hotel, so I thought that others might feel the same and decided to rent the apartment .

Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 3:
We chose Le Marais because it is central and has a real old parisian feeling . Yet there are all the trendy restaurants, shops and art galleries - so we get the best of both worlds !

The Unique Benefits at this Studio:
Love the fact that you can be anywhere in Paris in no time - and yet the apartment is so quiet that you feel remove from the buzz of the city when you come back to it .
