  The property is well located and very well furnished. Everyone had comfortable, private quarters and very nice group activity areas. The arrival process was simple and friendly. It was "our home" for that week. Everything was prepared and equipped as we envisioned. We definitely recommend this property to anyone desirous of a dedicated family home. We loved the nearby beach, Key West (Hemingway) and the Turtle Rescue facility.

  We are a family of 10 ranging in age from 70 years to 3 months. We have taken family vacations (some at double the price) in the Key for the past 30 years but none can compare with our two weeks at Casa de Luna. The above pictures do not do justice to Casa de Luna. The house is very will laid out and maintained. It is furnished in very good taste and to a high standard. Everything is in” like new” condition and in perfect working order. There are no bad bedrooms and there are great spaces for a family to gather. The pool’s unique design provided something for everyone. Do not under estimate the importance of the elevator. It was great for hauling two week worth luggage for 10 people up 2 or 3 floors. The dock provided ample space for both of our boats (28 feet & 18 feet) and the canal allowed ample depth and maneuvering room. Casa de Luna is in the best location in the keys. It is just 5 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean and 10 minutes the Gulf of Mexico. Kayaking and fishing in the canals and bayous and on the inside and outside flats was outstanding. Our children caught Mangrove Snapper (no keepers) off the dock using anything that could be put on a hook as bate. We adults caught the limit of Florida Lobster (all keepers) every day that the season was open during our stay. Blue Water fishing is just 3nm off shore and the best in the Keys. The snorkeling at Sombaro Reef (6nm) is the absolute best I have seen. Naturalist will love Casa de Luna. We saw Egret, Ibis, Heron, Osprey, a Rosy Spoonbill, Tarpon, Manatee (including one calf), Rays, Sea Turtles and a Bald Eagle. The owner went well above the call of duty to make sure we had good time. We plan to be back next year and for many years to come.

  This as beautiful property. Great pool, well appointed interior. Gorgeous bedrooms and kitchen. We had 9 adults for a week and had plenty of room. Perfect dock location thats quick to the ocean and gulf. Owner was great to work with and all was as promised. we will be back.

  We all enjoyed a really fantastic stay in this beautiful home. Again, we would agree with previous comments that the photos don't do it enough justice and we thoroughly recommend any families or couples to book this house. We loved sitting on the rockers on the 'colonial' feel balconies in the quiet privacy of this beautiful setting catching the morning and evening sun, kayakking in the interesting back waters and around to the pretty Sombrero beach, or strolling a short distance across to those pretty white sands in the mornings. The pool at the house, and outside area was really warm and inviting and the sun stayed around the pool to mid-late afternoon in February. The house was exquisitely furnished, to good taste and high standard, with great cooking/kitchen facilities, although there were an abundance of nice restaurants a short car-ride away to tempt the taste buds. The lift (elevator) was a real bonus for our son who is a wheelchair user, and we found this house very accessible bringing our own equipment. The owners were very accommodating and did their best to check out information beforehand, to make sure that the house was accessible enough for our non-ambulant young son. With some great things to do in Marathon and other locations near by, this was our perfect holiday - but just one week wasn't enough and we wished we had arranged to stay for longer! The house is within relatively quick and easy access from Miami for those wishing for a two centred holiday, as we did. But this hopefully means we can go back and explore further at a later date, which we really look forward to! We all enjoyed the comfort of this home, and highly recommend to others.

  We stayed at Casa de Luna for a week this past February and it was a great time. The home was large and comfortable with a great pool and an awesome dock at canal. Kids enjoyed the great fishing it provided and seeing a manatee was the highlight of the trip. Very enjoyable.

  This home is even better than the pictures. Very close to everything and the beach is just steps away. The kitchen is perfect for a gourmet chef. There isn't a bad bedroom in the home and they each have there own bathroom. We would definitely come back.

  This was an absolutely wonderful vacation! We enjoyed this property so much! The home is gorgeous. The pictures are great on the website, but the real thing is so much better! We had kids with us as young as 3 and as old as college age. Everyone had a great time. Sombrero Beach that is across the street (short walk) is a wonderful beach. The playground at the beach was excellent. My kids loved it! I would definitely recommend this property to anyone that is thinking of taking a vacation to Marathon! I doubt you would have any regrets!

  Truly a remarkable vacation in this house. The owners could not have made it any better. We had a family of 8. The house had more then enough room to go around. It was clean, well provided throughout. The decor from the front door, to the backyard was amazing. The kitchen was well equipped, viking appliances throughout. The views from all balconies and the house were breath taking. Supermarket was 1.5 miles away. My kids had a blast in the pool, shallow end and a deep end. Iguana's were spotted off the pool dock. It could of not been any better to sit off the balcony and enjoy the cool breeze. If you wanted to catch the sun rays in the backyard it was all there, or walk 2 min's to sombrero beach half a block up it was too easy. The house is very private needless to say. Palm tree's and the landscaping were top notch for this house. The owners did provide information about places to go to, places to eat. We did go fishing a few times during the week in which information was provided as well. You are right off Mile marker #50. We did drive one day to key west which was less than a hour away. We also spent a half day at the Dolphin research center which is 20 mins north. Perfect for kids. In all the house was amazing, the pictures live up to your expectations. There was only one sad part about this house, it's the day you have to start your car and drive away from it. We hope to stay there again in the future! ***** 5 STARS.

  This home exceeded expectations! We did not want to leave. The home is very spacious, We had 8 people, 2 families and had plenty of room. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. The kitchen is very well appointed, The only thing missing was a good set of knives! The pool is wonderful. It has a shallow area for wading or lounging and a deeper end for swimming. There is plenty of shade areas or sun. The front porch is great in the morning or when the sun is going down. The home is in a great location, one minute to beautiful Sombrero Beach. We rented a boat for several days and had easy access to the ocean and the gulf. We would highly recommend this home for a wonderul vacation get away. Can easily accomodate two families.

  Stayed here for 10 days in March of 2011. Perfect location and great layout for a family get together. The house is better than the pictures: kitchen is huge and well equipped, bedrooms private and very comfortable. Biking, boating, fishing, outdoor dining and relaxing by the pool were all as good or better than anticipated. We'll be back!
