Why the Owner Chose Bass River
We are Massachusetts natives and my husband grew up on this very pond. We're looking forward to sharing this special place with people that appreciate Cape Cod at it's best. As a former interior designer in San Francisco, I especially enjoyed decorating the cottage and giving it a fresh and natural look to match it's beautiful surroundings. We hope you'll enjoy your stay as much as we always do!
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
Relaxing with friends or reading in the sunroom and gazebo, canoeing around the lagoons and marshes, bird watching, diving from the dock and taking a swim, riding bikes to Captain Frosty's for the best fried seafood on the Cape and watching magnificent sunsets all year round. On rainy days, we love to take a leisurely drive up historic route 6A, browse the antique shops and stop for a cup of clam chowder.

Even if I enjoyed my vacation at Cap Cod, I found that the owner of this property who lives in California does not respect the tenant, She does not inform the tenant that credit card is not acceptable for the second payment, I called her for the second payment and at that moment she informed me that she did not accept payment by credit card anymore. I had only one month to send the cheque, since I am Canadian, I do not have a us bank account, plus there was a post strike at the moment, so I had to send a wire transfer, wich cost me 40$ more. I was very disapointed that she did not advise me prior to that and also that it is a false advertising on the site to say that we can pay by credit card. P.S. The man responsible for the cottage at Cap Cod was very friendly and helpful.
Owner response:Each of our tenants receives a Rental Agreement showing the due date for final payment which is usually one month prior to occupancy. Around the time that this particular tenant's final paymnet was due, we informed them that we were unable to process credit cards (this was due to a temporary glitch which has been corrected). There were several friendly email communications back and forth regarding the Canadian mail strike and requests for our bank information for a wire transfer, which the tenant suggested was the easiest way since they 'do them all the time at their place of business'. The wire was made in plenty of time and there was never any worry about the payment on our part. Had this tenant communicated their complaint directly to us or had given us any inclination that they were inconvenienced, we would have offered them an alternative. Furthermore, we would have gladly refunded them the $40 for the wire tranfsfer. As the owner of a small business and rental cottage, we always aim to please our clients...that is the key to success and what makes such ventures so rewarding. To say that we do not respect our tenants is totally misguided and we have many happy return tenants that would agree. I hope that this person will return to cape cod someday and discover all the natural beauty, history and fun that this unique area has to offer. Alison Evans

We stayed in this cottage for 12 days with our dog. The owners were wonderful, Cottage was clean and very neatly kept. It has a lovely tasteful and beachy feel that is carried through the decor. We ate in the Gazebo taking in some amazing sunsets. The street is quiet and the location is perfect for getting around the cape. The owners were kind enough to introduce us to local fisherman and great local haunts that made for cooking amazing seafood dinners on the grill. One of our favorite things was a diary/ note book that they kept where past guests listed their favorite places and things they saw during their stay. We used that MANY times to figure out our plans for the day. I would highly recommend staying at this cottage. We would love to stay here again next time we stay on the cape. Thank you so much we Loved it!
