This Peaceful Lakefront Getaway is nestled in the South Carolina mountains just 20 minutes from Highlands, North Carolina. There is a private dock for enjoying swimming, boating and fishing. The house has a rustic elegance and is perfect for that romantic getaway for two but with 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths would be also perfect for the entire family. The family room with its glass sliding doors overlooks the pristine, serene lake. The main level has one bedroom with 2 twin beds, one bedroom with a queen-sized bed both share a full hall bath equipped with tub/shower. The master bedroom boasts a queen-sized bed, walk-in closet and full bath with walk-in shower. The basement is complete with pull-out sofa, full bath and laundry room.

  • A lovely place with fine ammenities not your usual run of the mill rental types. Very clean with adequate supplies to maintain such. It would be perfect except for 1 thing, it needs an outside thermometer on tree next to porch!!!Rent and ENJOY!

  • This home is updated with modern, tasteful features but still kept the charm of a lake/mountain retreat. We most enjoyed the big kitchen area and patio overlooking the lake. Gorgeous in the morning! Looking foward to coming back sometime soon.

  • A great place to take your family for fun and relaxation. The house is great and is like a home away from home. My family thorougly enjoyed the stay and is looking forward to a future vacation there. Many things to keep you busy in the area such as hiking to some beautiful water falls, swimming and white water rafting. We spent a lot of time swimming and fishing in the lake behind the house. A great place.

  • It would be hard to envision a more relaxing retreat. The house is a delight; tastefully decorated yet homey, with large common areas open to the cool mountain breezes. Private without being isolated, with a lovely paddling lake right out the door. If you need to relax, to put your feet up and read a good book on a shady porch with a lovely view, this place is for you.

  • What a wonderful, peaceful weekend we spent here in Mt. Rest. The house was even nicer in reality than in the pictures. This was the perfect place to come home to after a day of hiking and waterfall hunting. Very close to many lovely trails and falls, it has all the amenities of home and then some in my case. Not to mention fireflies, frogs and a lovely lake too! A bargain. Thank you!!

  • VERY nice and peaceful. It's obvious a lot of care and attention to detail went into this place to make it just right for guests. Extremely quiet, very homey with wonderful views of the lake. We will definitely return and recommend it to all!
