Wonderful Coastal Property!

My husband & I recently spent 10 days in the larger cottage, and we had an exceptional stay. We were so excited when we found the cottage online, but the reality completely exceeded our expectations. This place is truly superb. As other reviewers have commented, the remodel/upgrades (the slate floors, lots of nice lighting, the "no slam" cupboard & drawer hinges, the large bathroom & huge shower, flat-screen TVs, etc) are wonderful, but what truly makes this location so amazing is the easy access to the beach. There are two condo-like properties between the three cottages and the beach - that's it. It takes about 90 seconds to walk. The only disappointment was that the kitchen could have been a bit better stocked. There are enough pans & dishes & spices to make for a moderate cooking experience, but we had to buy things like plastic wrap. The kitchen LOOKS beautiful - it would just be nice to have a bit more behind the cupboard doors. Also, the kitchen faucet tended to splatter terribly, and the hot water system seems to have a problem where it goes alternately hot & cold as it is run. But these are very minor complaints, and easily remedied. Overall, our experience was wonderful. The bed is very comfortable, as are the leather couches in the living room. The ocean view from the kitchen window is quite lovely - what a view to accompany dish-washing! We had a bit of trouble with the outdoor grill the first time we tried to use it, but after my husband called the owner, they promptly sent someone over to fix it, and it worked great. We enjoyed walking downtown in Pismo, and would highly recommend Hoagie's restaurant, which is mere blocks from the cottage. Their "Pismo wrap" is fabulous, and so delicious that we went back for it three times during our stay! The Pismo pier is a fun walk as well, and there are other shops and restaurants all within very easy walking distance of the cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and can't wait to return!
Owner response:Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to post the kind and thoughtful review. I have asked our plumber to check out the tankless water heater and faucet, as they are both fairly new. We will also review our list of stocking items for the kitchen. We hope you will come back soon. Bill

What an ideal cottage! Very nicely remodeled, great size (2 adults, 2 kids), and a fantastic location. We parked our car and didn't move it all weekend. The kitchen is well equipped, the outdoor grill area is nice, and also protected from the breeze, and restaurants are in an easy walking distance. I'd like to return with multi-families and rent all 3 cottages.

We stayed in this cottage for a long weekend, and it was the perfect family getaway. If you're comparing it to other rentals in the Pismo area, it's definitely worth noting that these have just recently been remodeled, and no expense was spared - they are just nicer than everything else we looked at! There are three cottages on the property, and the one we stayed in is the largest and has a view of the ocean from the kitchen window. While the other two seemed like a comfortable size, I think spending the little extra money was worth it, especially since we had our child with us. The beach is a one minute walk down the street - you'd be hard-pressed to find a better spot in the entire town. If you've never been to Pismo, it's the kind of place where you just leave your car parked and walk everywhere - It's just big enough to have everything you need. Can't wait to go back!

This cottages is terrific! Recently remodeled inside and out--the design and features are so thoughtful. For instance the slate floors are not only beautiful but it's not a big deal if you track in a little sand. Lots of natural light, which is something often missing in hotel rooms. New European appliances, flatscreen TVs in the bedroom and living room, wifi, a sophisticated color palette, beautiful woodwork and tile, plus super comfortable furniture make this such a wonderful place to stay--the perfect combination of luxury, comfort, and practicality. With the windows open to the ocean breezes--I did not want to leave! It's nice to have the outdoor grill and lawn area to hang out--really extends the space. We brought our bikes and had so much walking or riding all around--so convenient to have a "home base" in such a perfect location--close to the beach, restaurants, shops, and a walking/bike path. Try this cottage, you will not be disappointed!
