While we have been to Beaufort many times over the years this was the first time we had spent a month there. The cottage exceeded our expectations and the owners were extremely easy to work with and did everything they could to make our visit an enjoyable one. It was like staying in your own home and not in a vacation rental since Kathy ( owner ) has a knack for interior design and surrounds you with her beautiful antique collection. If you are looking for a home away from home after visiting Charleston, Savannah, Fripp Island, and other local communities during day trips this is your place. We have already booked another month in 2013 and can't wait to return to this oasis in the Winter months.

My husband and I spent a wonderful week between Christmas and New Year's Day with our two boys, ages 10 and 8, in The Cottage on Little Lucy Creek. The cottage was a terrific home away from home. It has beautifully appointed and comfortable bedrooms and a welcoming enclosed "outdoor" room facing the creek. The cottage is a little outside of town in a quiet neighborhood, yet a short 10 minute drive to reach stores and restaurants. I found the kitchen to have every utensil, appliance and dish one might need to cook a Thanksgiving feast or backyard BBQ. My family found it hard to leave and we are already plotting our return. Thank you for sharing your home.

This property is perfect for adult couples, peaceful and relaxing. Immaculate and so well equipped in all respects, and what a nice view of the marsh. Great furnishings and excellent kitchen. A perfect cottage for just hanging out on a cloudy or chilly day. It is away from the bustle of the town yet easy access to Beaufort and the beaches. We had a great visit and would surely return when again in the low country.

Wow - what a wonderful place to stay. The pictures, although great, do not do it justice. It was in a perfect location - close to downtown Beaufort, Port Royal, Hunting Island. Charleston and Savannah were a short distance away. The furnishings and decor were outstanding and we loved sitting out on the beautiful screened porch in the morning drinking our coffee. The owners were very nice and accommodating. Lots of restaurants close by and if you love seafood you will be in heaven. Wish we could have stayed longer. Went in early November and the weather was perfect - 70-75 degrees during the day and no humidity!! Very pet friendly also.

We really enjoyed staying at this beautiful home in November 2011. We really enjoyed the pretty and quiet setting. The house was very clean and well kept, and offered all the amenities we could want. The furnishings are just beautiful and comfortable. The view from the porch and deck was very picturesque. We found the atmosphere offered by the home and its owners to be very warm and welcoming. There was plenty of space for the four of us, and our dog. The listing description was very accurate. In addition, our dog enjoyed the location. She loved watching squirrels from the deck and back yard. She also enjoyed the walks we took around the immediate area. She was very content lying in front of the fireplace in the living room. We really appreciated the pet-friendly approach of the owners of this home. The location was very convenient to Beaufort, Hunting Island and other tourist and shopping areas. It also served as a great place from which to visit Charleston and Savannah. It was also just minutes to Port Royal, from where I enjoyed a fishing charter. There were many great restaurants within a short drive of the home. A little further away, at Edisto Island, we had a wonderful meal at The Old Post Office. We highly recommend this home as a great location for a wonderful vacation. We were only there a week, but we wish it were several months.

Could not have been more pleased with the house and it's surroundings. High comfort level throughout the house with each room perfectly appointed. Anything and everything we needed was at the house apron arrival and we couldn't have felt more welcome. Our dog Zia was in high heaven at the cottage and with Hunting Island Beach so close day trips there were possible whenever we wanted. Being able to stay at the house 3+ weeks totally spoiled us and made us feel like locals. A five star experience from start to finish & can't imagine staying anywhere else on our next visit to the area

This is a wonderful cottage, perfectly decorated and in an excellent location for visiting historic Beaufort, Port Royal and other Lady's Island locations, including the Publix and restaurants. The cottage was sparkling clean and even prettier "in person" than the photos, which I have found to be unusual. We especially liked the quiet and peaceful setting and the beautiful decor. The owners and the onsite manager are friendly and helpful. We will definitely return in the near future--I would like to be able to spned more time enjoying the screened porch!

My husband and I recently stayed there with our two dogs. The pictures don't do this cottage justice. It is beautifully furnished and outfitted. The screened-in porch was furnished just as beautifully as indoors. My only comment is that the fence in one area is only about 18 inches tall - so if you have a large dog, or even a small one that might chase after wildlife you might want to take it into consideration. Lady's Island and Beaufort is a gorgeous area! Thank you for everything -
Owner response:Our guest is correct. There is a section of shorter fence (I would have said taller than 18" but have never measured it) along the salt marsh as we did not want to obscure the view. However, there is a way to gate off this section of the yard. So if anyone has a dog who is a jumper -- or big enough to step over!! -- there is a way to keep them from getting into that part of the yard. I always tell guests this before they reserve the cottage if they say they are bringing pets. I apologize if I did not tell these guests ahead of time. I don't believe they had a problem but they just want to let others know.

We had the best, most relaxing vacation, in several years. The cottage is wonderful, and so welcoming. I miss the veranda most of all. Things for sharing this beautiful home with us. I miss the Beaufort area very much.

We absolutely loved staying at your beautiful home. The house was so adorable and decorated with so many interesting antiques. My husband, our little dog, and myself couldn't have been more comfortable. You've thought of every detail to make your guests want for nothing. We cooked several delicious seafood dinners on your grill overlooking Little Lucy Creek, had our evening cocktail while enjoying the hot tub, and slept like babies in a totally comfortable bed. Your screened in porch is the best! After renting your house, it would be hard for any other rental to live up to.

My wife and I and our poodle(Bogey) just spent 2 months at Little Lucy Creek. We had a chance to preview the cottage last year on a visit to Beaufort. We were so impressed with the furnishings and the cook's kitchen we made our deposit. The cottage had the best amenities and furnishings of the five SC rentals we experienced. It is like staying in a very special home, not a typical rental. It even has a fenced yard that was perfect for Bogey. The cottage is within 10 minutes of Beaufort, which we have found to have a wonderful variety of things to do.

I'm back to reality after my month long stay at the cottage on Little Lucy Creek. This was truly my most enjoyable life experience. I was able to write, relax, and take the most incredible wildlife photographs right from the convenience of the marsh front deck. The hot tub was so relaxing and helped to heal my back and legs. This was my retirement gift to myself, and I could not have picked a more perfect place. Everything I could ever want or need was provided at the cottage. Local attractions were within a 10-20 ride. However, I did not get to do everything I had on my list. So, I'll be back. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with me.

We've just returned from the Cottage on Little Lucy Creek, rested and refreshed. I've never seen a more perfect cottage....beautifully decorated and with every convenience, but with the character and charm reminiscent of homes built in the 30s and 40s. As an earlier reviewer wrote, it was more like being a guest in the home of a friend than in a vacation rental, and it was difficult to leave. The huge screened porch, backyard, and marsh view provided all the peace and quiet we needed for our retreat. Thanks for sharing this wonderful place!

Thank you for sharing your home with my family and friends. The house is totally charming! We loved the peace and serenity of the deck which overlooks the marsh. We actually saw a dolphin once during high tide. What a joy to getaway from it all in such a beautiful and tranquil setting. The property offers all of the conviences of home with everything at your fingertips. The interiors are awesome and the beds very comfortable. You will definitely feel like a guest in a friends home. The island is just minutes away from restaurants and shopping. And Hunting Island State Forest Park is fantastic with many things to do including a white sandy beach and fishing. That is a definite must and only 15 minutes away. We had only one problem-that we didn't rent the cottage for two weeks because nobody wanted to leave! We can't wait to go back next year!

We agree with the opinions of the other reviewers. The Cottage is a find. We have rented many vacation homes, and this one is the best of all. The combination of its location on the peaceful marsh, the beautiful furnishings and amenities, and the wonderfully equipped kitchen make it a truly luxurious getaway. You feel away from it all, but you're a short drive from Charleston and Savannah, and many interesting historic sites. There are great restaurants in Beaufort, but The Cottage is so nice, you mind want to buy some fresh seafood and locally grown produce, cook it yourself and dine on the fabulous screened porch. When your stay is over, you won't want to leave.

Our week at the cottage on Little Lucy Creek was just outstanding! The cottage was absolutely charming and it was a wonderful place to sit and relax and enjoy our family vacation. My teenage daughters loved all the amenities this lovely home had to offer and the hot tub was great. My husband and I took advantage of the wonderful screened in porch for our morning coffee and our evening cocktails. It was a real joy to be there and I almost have him convinced we need a screened in porch just like it on our home. Enjoy!!!!!

You will not find a nicer place to stay in the low country. The cottage has every amenity one could desire. It is beautiful, peaceful, and utterly comfortable. The owners are charming and very responsive to any problem that might arise. As beautiful as the pictures and description are, the house is better. I can't imagine anyone not falling in love with the Cottage on Little Lucy Creek. Just please don't rent it before we make our plans for next year! We look forward to returning.

My wife and I have been renting vacation homes for 25 years. This cottage rates at the top of the list. The amenities were top notch and it had the best equipped kitchen we have ever had. The property was well maintained with a caretaker that lived above the garage and took care of any problems that arose.Another plus is it's proximity to Hilton Head,Savanna and Charleston. the longest drive was Charleston of about 1 1/2 Hours away. Highly recommended.

I second all of the other guest comments. This is an exceptional place to spend a quiet and relaxing vacation. Cozy Cottage on Little Lucy Creek is not a typical "vacation rental house" but a charming home away from home, beautifully furnished and equipped, exceptionally clean and well maintained, with a lovely marsh view. We hated to leave and hope to return.

We stayed for a week at this wonderful cottage and did not want to come back home. It was Southern Hospitality at its finest. The home is beautifully decorated, with an exceptionally stocked kitichen, and a screened in back porch that you will never want to leave. The hot tub was spotless, and the view of the marsh breath taking. We can't wait to visit again. Kathy, and her caretaker Judi are great. Thanks for a great week.

My wife and I vacationed at this cottage over memorial day weekend 2009. We felt as if we were staying at a Bed & Breakfast, the cottage is outfit in a nautical theme which fits in with it's location in Beaufort. It is also conveniently located halfway between Charleston, SC & Savannah, GA. A great place to retreat to while still being close to everything.
