This cottage is a beautiful summer retreat set high above Frenchman Bay’s rocky coast with stunning panoramic views of Mount Desert Island and the Skillings River. It sits on a 4-acre lot with 200’ of impressive shore front and is sun-filled from morning until night. Perched high above the bay, every room looks out over the treetops. The cottage is very spacious with a large living/dining area and a smaller library with a fireplace. The three bedrooms sleep six in total, and there is overflow space in the loft for two more. The master suite has its own entrance, dressing room, and private bath with a clawfoot tub (also with an ocean view! ) and a separate shower with seat. The cottage offers TV, internet, and full laundry facilities. This lovely cottage is conveniently located between Bar Harbor & Acadia National Park and Schoodic peninsula, also part of Acadia. Both destinations (with beauty that attracts visitors each year from around the world) are within just a 35 min. drive and are abundant with trails, lakes, mountains, and beaches as well as shops, theaters, museums, and fine dining. Whale watching, mountain biking, and kayak tours are all available nearby. The cottage is also only a minute or two from Hancock Point summer community where you can dine at the renowned Crocker House Country Inn, visit the Hancock Point Chapel, play tennis on clay courts, or swim/fish/boat off the Hancock Point dock (where sailing lessons are offered for children and teens during July and August). Ellsworth is only a 15 minute drive from the cottage where you’ll find shopping centers, malls, restaurants and cafes. Bangor International Airport is a 45 min. drive from the cottage and the smaller Trenton Airport is just 20 minutes away.

DO get your groceries BEFORE you arrive at Aerie (don't forget the wine) because you will NOT want to leave once you get there! If you are looking for peace and tranquility, yet, some fine dining and culture close by, Aerie is the creme de la creme of places to stay! The MORE THAN ample stocked home offers comfy and cozy sophistication with views to DIE FOR. Wood fires to cry for.... beds and blankies to Sigh for. You will want for NOTHING! It is so adequately equipped with just about EVERYTHING you could possibly need or want. A multitude of dishes, pots, pans, utensils (many so cool and whimsical), linens, blankets, dvds, cds, stereo, fireplace/firewood, matches, really NICE bbq grill, lobster steaming pots, outdoor furniture, the softest/most plush towels, bicycles, helmets, the list is endless!!! Washer/Dryer....Every detail tended to. The property managers: just a phone call away. We can't WAIT to go back!! So Bright and Airy (Aerie)....even on the dreariest, rainy day! There's NOTHING not to like!!!

"We had a relaxing, fun time here. The home has everything you need. The kitchen is well-equipped, and has a lot of great gadgets. We christened the lobster pot one evening, and had a fun time playing board games. Pictionary became a quick favorite. A true home away from home! The only bad part of the week was having to leave on Saturday!"

This house was the perfect place for my first trip to the beautiful state of Maine. It was so convenient for visiting nearby Bar Harbor, Acadia, Winter Harbor, Jonesport,etc. The house is well equipped and the view from the deck is nothing short of perfect.

We had a great week in this fabulous house - the views really are spectacular. Bring binoculars if you are interested in sea life or birds The house is comfortably and attractively furnished and very well equipped. The surronding area is just wonderful - everything and more that I hoped Maine would be.
