Secluded high on a mountainside and surrounded by thousands of acres of state park and conservation land, The Pod is a rustic early 1970's timber and glass octagon set on a concrete pedestal. Decks on four sides with forest or distant mountain views. One stream runs within 15 feet of the master bedroom, a second is about 100 yards from the house. Our closest neighbor's home is about 150 yards away and invisible (spring to fall) through the woods; there are very few homes in the area.
Great food, culture, entertainment, and shopping are all within easy striking distance: Downtown Great Barrington, 7 miles; Stockbridge, 15 miles; Tanglewood/Lenox, 21 miles; Hudson NY, 23 miles.

CAVEATS: We purchased The Pod from it's original owner 2 years ago. It's clean, complete, and with all systems in excellent working order, but the place could use some paint -- a few of the floor to ceiling double-pane windows have some fogging due to leaky seals. Lots of stairs; not recommended for small children.
