  We were in Va. for the birth of our second grandchild and wanted a place near their home. We couldn't have been more pleased with the Corso home. (and it really felt like a home.) Thanks, Jo, for sharing your great house. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. We loved that it was so close to the beach and that you had all the beach supplies we needed. We also enjoyed access to bikes. All in all, a very relaxing stay.

  Our time was the most comfortable and enjoyable spent at this cottage. We were blessed with sunny weather to enjoy the beach, the waves and the bike rides! The neighborhood is very quiet and safe. Short walk to the beach is convenient and all beach necessities were provided. Our small active child felt very much at home and made full use of the spacious back yard, children books in the room and bikes that were available to take down the neighborhood alleyways. We had all the amenities and even the most unexpectedly-needed items were well placed and easily found, and made out stay truly feel like a home away from home! Last but not least, the ambiance of the cottage decor made us truly appreciate to be part of the owner's artistic and creative life - so many wonderful paintings and beach memorabilia around the house. Thank you for a heartwarming opportunity to enjoy everything you had to offer! Now we have a dream to come back here over and over again. Thank you Joe and Chris!

  We enjoyed our stay at the Corso Cottage. It is a very cosy cottage,clean, well located, so close to the beautiful beach in a very quiet area.We felt like home. Everything we needed was there. My son(3) and daughter(7), liked to play in the backyard. It was more than appreciated to be under the shades of the trees after beeing burned by the sun at the beach! We liked to bike to the center of the action after dinner and then come back in the quiet and peaceful Cottage. We also liked to take long walks on the beach,early in the morning,and watch the dolphins dance in front of us.We recommend this Cottage and would like to come back next year!

• A Wonderfull Cottage

  My family stayed in this cottage for a week in July. Conveniently located so close to the beach, and so well maintained, clean and cozy, with all the needed items provided and with so many extras, we couldn’t wish for more! Filled with great kitchen appliances, it made our stay enjoyable since we do all the cooking by ourselves. The back deck is fabulous for family dinners and just to hang out late. Our boys, 5 and 7 enjoyed playing at the backyard as well as walking on the beach after dinners. The beach is very nice too. Away from the tourist crowd, but in a close 5 min drive distance if you want to feel the city vibe. We would recommend this property and are planning to come back again.

• Great Location!

  My family recently stayed at this cottage on the north side. Very clean and close to beach. The owner has all the beach gear you could possibly need in the shed. The oversize cart was key in helping to get to the beach. Especially with a one year old son. There are bikes in the shed. They are in good shape. I rode one down to 1st street and back with no issues. I took my son for long walks in the state park close to the cottage. A good rental property for small families with young kids. I would definitely stay here again. We enjoyed being centrally located between Chics beach and the Va Beach boardwalk.

  This was our 3rd year staying at Chris and Jo's place on 87th street. A most restful and relaxing place to be! Wonderful folks to plan a vacation with! Everything you need for an awesome vacation. You can spend the whole week on the beautiful beach watching the dolphins and relaxing or head out on the town for just about anything, whether you want to find music at the ocean front, activities for the kids, or just great food. The cottage has everything provided! Very nice appliances, great bicycles, beach chairs, umbrellas, beach cart, etc. It's very clean and quite, you can sleep late or get up early and ride bikes or hike the trails at Seashore state park. The cottage is very roomy and comfortable, and is filled with lots of beautiful artwork! My 18 year old daughter took a friend with her and we felt safe letting them ride the bikes or scoot to the beach when ever they wanted. There is a beautiful enchanted walkway to the beach lined with beautiful plants and flowers. After a day of sun and waves it's fun to come back to the outside shower! My favorite!! Then it's off to the Beach Pub for great local seafood. When you need a break from the beach you can head to the Marine Science Museum for a fun and educational adventure. We would highly recommend The Corso's cottage at Virginia Beach!! Thanks Chris and Jo!!! Jayne, Al, Sarah and Wyatt

  I spent my summers in Va. Beach as a young girl on 72nd street so we were thrilled to find such a fabulous cottage that suited our life style. This is a home. It is very well maintained, has all of the " beach" things you need, so leave them at home. Your are just a very short, easy walk to the beach. The beds are very comfortable, the back deck is awesome, and the enclosed front sun room is perfect for reading and your morning coffee.The owners, are extremely accommodating.   We had a fun, relaxing family vacation with our two girls ages 6 and 9 years. The cottage is a short walk to the beach, easily done with young children. The home is comfortable with lots of amenities to make your stay comfortable, especially if you plan on "eating-in" frequently (which we did). There are lots of nearby bike trails which are also kid-friendly. This property is accurately represented by the description on the website, and the owners are very helpful and accessible. We highly recommend this property to families with (or without) children. In fact, we have already booked our week in this cottage next summer.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

  We just returned from a wonderful week at Corso Cottage. Jo and Chris could not be nicer to interact with and we have already booked a return for the end of September this year, hopefully when it is cooler as we got caught in this dreadful heat wave covering the east coast. We enjoyed the comforts of this home away from home and although we are not of the age to do sun bathing, we feel the closeness to some of the best beaches in Virginia beach is a real plus for younger couples with children. One of the things that appealed to us the most was its only a few short blocks from Fort Story. My husband is retired military so we had access to this facility and probably the best beaches in VA and great viewing of all the ships coming into the ports at Norfolk. My love of photography was fulfilled by this and the fact the cottage backs onto one of the larger State Parks in Virginia where you can ride bikes, walk, bird watch, or just enjoy nature. It was an easy drive down Shore Drive (Route 60) to grocery stores or places to eat. It was also a short drive to the board walk which is famous for its art shows and non stop entertainment and places to eat with all prices and manner of food. As a Virginian I feel Virginia Beach is the best beach in Virginia and the east coast and if you want privacy with all the action down the road this is the best place to stay. Thanks Jo and Chris for making this a great holiday. See you in a few months.

  It was exactly what the renters described. A very nice quiet location, very clean and nicely decorated. If you rent this house, you will only need food, bed linen, and your swimming suit. We had a great vacation and would love to return.

  My family and I just returned from a week in your lovely home and could not have asked for anything more peaceful and accommodating for our family needs (away from the bustle of the tourists). We loved all the considerate and special touches to make us feel welcome and enjoyed looking at all of your artwork on the walls. Our two year old granddaughter, Addison, enjoyed the deck and especially her pool, it was just her size and she considered the beach her personal "sandbox". She had fun flying her kites on the beach and collecting sea shells. It was amazing to watch the dolphins playing in the water right out from the beach! We had fun remembering how to ride bikes again too. What a great vacation home! You thought of everything – thank you for a wonderful week and we'll see you again!

  Great accomodation, great location - but families with children beware! Unfortunately the permanent tenant upstairs is very intolerant to any noise.

  Owner response: FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN DO NOT HAVE TO BEWARE!!!!!!!!!. It is unfortunate that the tenant upstairs had to wake us up at 11:30pm to report a domestic dispute downstairs. The children in question were 4 and 7 year olds. The tenant upstairs was emphatic that it was a woman screaming and the walls were shaking. She has experienced families with children renting for 20 years and has NEVER complained one word. It states in the web site that there is a tenant upstairs and everyone for the last 20 years has been very considerate of her as she has been of them. To quiet the noise that night, I called them ask them to be quiet and would have gladly refunded their money if they wanted to leave. Fortunately for the rest of their stay the acted appropriately. Please call me or email any of your concerns.

  Our stay at the Corso cottage was great. My 6 year old loved being able to ride her bike to the beach everyday. And she loved getting rinsed off in the outdoor shower. And there is so much to do close by. And the owners are wonderful they make you feel right at home.
