We enjoyed one of our favorite vacations at the Berkeley Beach House. It was two houses (not blocks) from the beach. It was not crowded, the water was so clear, and everything you need is within walking distance. We had bikes and I highly recommend bringing, buying, or renting bikes. It was so fun to see the entire town so easily. The BBH has everything you need. My family of four comfortably stayed in the two bedroom Mango Suite. This quiet, relaxing town is less than 40 blocks from an active strip that can provide that extra stimulation if you want it. Or just stay in Pass-A-Grille and recharge your batteries. We didn't want to leave.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks for enjoying our special spot out on the Grille. It is wonderful to hear that our guests love our berkeley beach cottage as much as we do. Hope you come back to stay with us again soon.

This was my second stay at the Berkley Beach House. The Mango Suite was perfect for our stay over a long weekend for a family wedding. I would definetly consisder this as a week long or more vacation spot for my family. Picture perfect area with jungle like surroundings...steps to the beautiful Pass A Grille Beach on the Gulf...walking distance to restaurants and beach front activities...quiet end of beach without high rise resorts...perfect!!!Recommended for: Girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thanks for the wonderful review. We love being a part of your family events out here on the Grille. Hope to see you again soon.

The Pass-A-Grille suite was perfect for three people. The suite was very clean and has a lot of charm. It is only steps from the beach and the street it's located on is very quiet and safe. The owner was great to deal with. We will be back!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.

We had a great time at The Berkeley Beach house! We rented the Mango Suite and my daughter rented the Blue Dog. Both were clean and well-stocked. The air-conditioning worked well and the side was shaded enough to be comfortable sitting outside. The location was great. We had a teenaged daughter with us and she could safely and easily get back and forth from the beach. Payment was safe and easy.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thanks for the kind words. We do work hard to make our guests welcome and have their stay be enjoyable. So glad you loved our cottage on the Grille.

My husband and our two chocolate labs stayed here over the Martin Luther King Jr. weekend and had a wonderful and relaxing time. The place is the perfect size and very inviting. Having the water view on either side as you walk out the front door is amazing. We will be planning on staying here again.Recommended for: Girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks Heather. I am glad you enjoyed our terrific cottage on the Grille. It is a magical place. Elaine

What an excellent way to get away for a long weekend or "staycation" getaway. The Mango Suite exceeded my expectations as a little birthday surprise getaway for my wife. The unit easily accommodated my wife, daughter, and myself with comfort. The semi private gazebo in the back next to the private parking, and the available gas grill were excellent conveniences. Since we had the most beautiful weather so far this summer/fall, low in the mid 60's and highs below 80, we took full advantage of the outdoor space and took most of our meals at the gazebo's six person table. We even had room for several friends to stop by and enjoy it with us. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they called to book the facilities themselves. The unit itself was well appointed, very clean, and very cozy. The beds were comfortable and we welcomed them after spending a lot of time at the beautiful beaches of Pass a Grille which were just a block away. Restaurants, a great little ice cream and coffee shop, and many little shops and galleries are just a pleasant and relaxing walk away. The Berkeley Beach House and the Mango Suite are on our list of great little weekend getaways now. You’d be hard pressed to find anything as relaxing, private, clean, and well appointed anywhere close to this price point. We enjoyed this much more than the busy and crowded resort-type atmosphere so common along these beaches. You can’t go wrong with this rental.Recommended for: Girls getaway, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

My family and I recently stayed at the Berkley House while attending my daughters graduation from UT. We found the suite to be as described, comfortable with all the expected amenities. We loved the gazebo area and enjoyed a festive BBQ with family and friends. I enjoyed my morning coffee in the lovely shaded area on the side of the house. The beach of course was breathtaking, a stroll to the corner and over the dunes awaits crystal clear water sprinkled with beautiful shells. We enjoyed the little shops and restaurants 4 blocks away. We can't wait to come here again! Thank you for sharing your little peace of heaven with us!Recommended for: Girls getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.
Owner response: We are always happy to hear that our guests enjoyed our cottage and the beach as much as we knew they would. Pass a Grille is such a special place we love sharing it with others.

The location was AMAZING!!! The Berkeley Beach House was in a quite location that was historic and beautiful. We grilled out everynight and the house stayed cool. The property was clean, well maintained the owners were very helpful and kind. It really was great to bond again with my 3 teens. We walked on the or the waterway every night and enjoyed the" Beach buns and burgers" wraps and fried ice cream. We visited Pier 60 in Clearwater and the kids jumped on the bungee trampoline and loved listening to the sax player. We may try a cruise next year but if not this is definately our new vacation hotspot.Recommended for: Girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers, people with disabilities.

About the owner: Maryann and I live on 4th Avenue, just two doors down from The Berkeley Beach House. She is the owner of Mise en Place, one of Tampa's finest restaurants; I'm a corporate lawyer, specializing in the representation of private equity funds.
Why the Owner Chose St. Pete Beach:
When the property was listed for sale, we viewed it as an opportunity to restore a great old beach house, to preserve our neighborhood's charm and village character, and to share the magnificent Pass a Grille beach experience with family and friends (some of whom we hadn't met yet).
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Berkeley Beach House is located just steps from the beach, at the very quiet southern end of the peninsula but only four blocks from Pass a Grille's lively 8th Avenue shopping/restaurant district. For those looking for more nightlife, the bars and restaurants of the many beach communities are minutes away on Gulf Boulevard and beautiful downtown St. Petersburg is just a short (10 minute) drive.
