Why the Owner Chose Beach Highland
We're from Montgomery, Alabama (I'm the only one who moved away from the Deep South) and spent long weekends and vacations in the Florida panhandle for as long as I can remember. My mother had always wanted a beach house of her own, so she and Daddy finally purchased one in the quiet little area of Santa Rosa Beach. It was easy to get to from Montgomery -- a three-hour drive -- and I could fly into Panama City airport once I moved to Missouri.
The Unique Benefits at this House
There are so many things I love about being at our beach house. I really enjoy walking the dogs through the neighborhood in the early morning and evening. There are some amazing gardens and I love to stand and admire whatever's blooming that day. In the morning, the deck is a perfect place to savor your coffee because there is always a gentle breeze. And I never miss an opportunity to visit the Silver Sands Outlet Mall which is about 6 miles away, or a 15 minute drive. One of our favorite restaurants is the Ocean Club at Tops'l Resort in Sandestin on Hwy 98. Go between 5:00 and 5:30 for the two-for-one specials. Delicious food, great service, and an elegant yet comfortable atmosphere!

My parents purchased their little house on the hill when Santa Rosa Beach was still an undiscovered paradise. Theirs was one of only a handful of homes in the area and the street wasn't even paved! Since that time, our family grew(adding spouses and grandkids) and so has the neighborhood. It's amazing to see the changes that have occurred. Over the past 20 years, my family has created many, many wonderful memories in our beach house. My father passed away three years ago and my mother doesn't visit Florida nearly as much as she used to. So we've decided to share our wonderful beach house with others through VRBO. My father loved to "take a break" (his favorite phrase) in the hammock and enjoy the Gulf breeze. My family and I had a great time staying at this beach house. The house is decorated nicely and has everything you would need. There is a great view of the ocean from the back porch. I really enjoyed sitting on the porch in the morning and having a cup of coffee. The house is very close to the beach and the Santa Rosa Beach Club for those whom are staying down there for a wedding or golf trip. This was my first time renting through VBRO and the owner were great to work with. I would love to stay there again in the future.

We had such a great time and didn't want to leave! The house was adequate for our needs and you felt at home from the time you walked in the door. My husband loved the hammock and spent alot of time there when not on the beach. I loved having the beach items there so I didn't have to bring them from home. Sitting on the deck was peaceful!! I would recommend this home.

My family had a wonderful time. I stayed there before the wedding, and actually slept on the balcony under the stars!! It was amazing. The water was overloaded with algae, but the house made up for it. It gave everyone a place to relax in the quiet and get some rest after all of the hustle and bustle of wedding plans and events! I would not stay anywhere else!!

Our family really enjoyed the stay in your property. There were three generations of our family there on vacation. The house was very comfortable and everything worked fine. We enjoyed some of the movies that were there along with the TV. The grill worked very well when we cooked out along with the charcoal starter. We hope to come back again next year. The house is not too far from shopping and groceries. You have a very nice house and is furnished very nice. The beach was very clean and nice. The beach chairs and umbrella were very much appreciated. Thank you from all of us. We also appreciate your checking with us to be sure everything was OK.

We stayed at this lovely beach cottage after a stressful move. Not only were the owners wonderful to deal with,but the cottage was a perfect getaway. Don't think twice...stay here if you have a chance!

Thank you for the lovely week at the Little House on the Hill. We enjoyed being just far enough from the epicenter of Destin for some quiet however just close enough to enjoy the activities Destin offers. The beach was only a few short blocks from the place and we enjoyed a few days on it! I would recommend this home for anyone wanting to spend a nice family vacation that doesn't mind it being a couple blocks from the beach. The view from the balcony was lovely and we enjoyed eating breakfast there on most days. Thank you again for the accommodations.

Thanks for the wonderful beach home rental. It worked out perfect for us with the kayaks and bikes and we had great weather. The fireworks were the BEST we've ever seen. We just went out on the beach and could see from all directions. We've rented several condos in that area over the last 10 years and yours is MOST equipped with everything (grill, beach chairs, private parking - shaded, great view of the ocean from deck). What we liked most was the privacy and quietness and the ability to keep our bikes and kayaks. Thanks again and we hope to get back there again.
