Park your car and relax at the 109 year old "Lund River House" set right on the bank of the Mississippi River in this historic river town. Walk or bike anywhere you need to go; coffee shops, restaurants, wine bars, unique shops, day spa, antique stores, marinas, groceries, beach, parks, etc.
Enjoy your morning cup of coffee while watching the sunrise over the river from the screen porch with its panoramic view of the river and the interstate bridge. Or share a campfire with friends and family right on the shore of the river. Fishing for walleyes, sauger, smallmouth bass and white bass is excellent right from our shoreline. The bait shop located only 1 1/2 blocks away also rents a pontoon, canoes, kayaks and water bikes. Boaters and canoeists can pull their watercraft right up on the beach for the day.
This is a great setting for a "girls weekend." Relax with good friends as you enjoy the many local venues located throughout the river valley, including Art Tours, the Great River Shakespeare Festival, and the Stolkholm Art Fair. This is also a great spot for a guys fishing/golfing outing with five golf courses within a 20 minute drive and excellent fishing at your doorstep. Try your hand at trout fishing in the many pristine streams in Wabasha County just a short drive into the bluff country.
If you want a winter get-away, plan a weekend of ice fishing on the backwaters, downhill skiing or snowboarding at Coffee Mill ski area, or try cross country skiing at one of the near-by parks. Or you might want to simply relax at one of the wine bars in town or treat yourself to dinner at one of the many restaurants in Wabasha or in one of the neighboring river towns.

Jon and Nancy Dahlin live in Apple Valley, MN with their 15 year old nephew, Gavin Carlson and their Black Lab, Fila. They have 3 adult children and a daughter-in-law who also enjoy spending time on the river. Jon and Nancy have been boating on the Mississippi River for over 30 years from the Twin Cities to Lansing, IA. When the property became available in Wabasha they knew that this community had everything they wanted and needed for an ideal vacation spot.

Lund River House was a wonderful backdrop to a delightful girls weekend during our Fall getaway. It had been years since all of us had been in the same room and the Lund House welcomed us with open arms. The living room is a perfect size to sit around the coffee table and chat til the early morning hours. The dining room and kitchen were great to fix breakfast and snacks, however everything we could want was also in walking distance. Both nights we could walk 1 or 2 blocks and eat at one of several local restaurants (that were all great!). We enjoyed Vinifera Vine&Dine and Loco Gringos Cantina. Wabasha is the quintessential small town also, people are friendly and helpful. It is an older house, but full of charm. Hope to be back!

The view of the river is incredible all times of the day and night. There is all kinds of recreation available right at your finger tips, seconds (not minutes) away. The river is and all its richness, including 3 mile wide Lake Pepin just north of the house, is only a few steps from the front porch. The tranquility of the whole Hiawatha valley and sleepy town of Wabasha seeps into your soul. I'll be back.
