If your looking at THE GORGE for vacation then this is the perfect retreat to hang your hat in at the end of an active day. My home is more like a lodge with natural woodwork throughout, heated slate and bamboo floors and warm plush carpet in all the bedrooms. The high ceilings are supported by huge logs from the local mill. The outdoor decking offer both shade and sun with views of Mt Hood and the territorial valley. Watch your head though because this place is perched high on the hill above the White Salmon River where birds of prey glide by in search of a good meal below.
If wine is your thing you will enjoy the many wineries in the area to go with the meal you prepare in the gourmet kitchen or prepared on the Treager outside.
In the morning go out the front door to the best hiking, road or mountain biking in the world and you already know about what the Columbia offers for the best windsurfing on the planet with reliable strong wind.
Although you are not on THIS vacation to watch television there is a 62" screen upstairs to watch your favorite DVD's on, so bring them along or rent some at the store just two miles away.
If you like the big city life just across the river is Hood River, or stay here and wander 2 miles down the road to our own quaint town of White Salmon with restaurants and a new brew pub you will like.
Our home does not include air conditioning, generally it is not necessary but please be aware that some days can get pretty hot in the gorge and I want you to be prepared.
