We have three beautiful outdoor sitting areas, which include a screened Arizona room, facing east for the sunrise, a shaded interior patio looking onto our native cactus-landscaped yard, and a roof deck. The roof deck, with a 360 degree view of the Tucson basin and sunsets over the Tucson and Catalina Mountains, provides a spectacular setting for outdoor coffee, margaritas, or hors d’oeuvres.

In addition there are numerous golf courses, tennis clubs, horseback riding stables, and even ballooning to enjoy.
Within 1 to 2 hours you can reach Mt. Lemmon, Biosphere 2, Kitt Peak Observatory, the art community of Tubac, Nogales for a unique day in Mexico, Kartchner Caverns, Chiricahua National Monument, Tombstone, Bisbee, Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, and Phoenix, AZ. A week was not enough here. Next time I'll try for two. The house, the fabulous garden, and views from every window were idylic. It was so quiet and the night sky so free of abberant light. The kitchen was the best equipped we've ever rented. Everything was set up to make us comfortable from the moment we walked in. The bed, closet space, bathroom: all excellent. We enjoyed the outdoor spaces, but my favorite was the front screened porch, especially in the morning, sipping my coffee and enjoying the blooming, tall stocked, yellow yucca. Many other of the cactuses within the house's abobe walls bloomed while we were there. The end of April was an auspicious time. The saguaro cactus were blooming, too. And the red-tipped ocitillo. We went into the Saguaro National Park almost everyday and hiked. This was made possible because of how close this house is to the park. The owner was so helpful, personable and welcoming from my first inquiry call. This is obviously a loved home. I drew several drawings from the house. I have several more in my mind's eye that I didn't get to. That's why we'll be back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thank you so much Marcia for your review. You truly captured the care and love that we have put into the house and garden. Casa Encantada is a little piece of desert paradise. Gary

This was a wonderful Tucson desert home. The house was beyond our expectations. We enjoyed the cacti and loved watching the rabbits and quail in the yard. The house provided great access to hiking and the Desert Museum. We enjoyed day trips to Kitt Peak and Kartchner's Caverns. We recommend watching the sunrise from the front porch and star gazing from the hot tub.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

A wonderful house for a relaxing vacation. The location was peaceful and quiet yet close to eveything. All six of us enjoyed the Arizona room, sunny or shady patio, and roof patio. Everyone took frequent, easy walks into the desert to see the birds and plants and animals. The kitchen had everything we needed so cooking was easy and fun. And the beds were great! I'd recommend this rental in a heartbeat!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We've been renting in the desert west of Tucson for several years, and this was our best rental experience ever. The house was just as promised-spotless, comfortably equipped, and with a casita providing excellent space separation. Best of all, the house is ideally located on a large desert property but it's just a few minutes from local stores, fifteen minutes or so from major malls, and a couple of minutes from I-10. Picture Rock is just down the road, with access to wonderful park trails. Highly recommended.Recommended for: Age 55+.

Pictures only tell part of the story of this stunning Tuscon retreat. Our family spent a delightful Christmas week in this immaculate home. Among some of the highlights of our trip include: "wine time" atop the rooftop veranda watching spectacular 360 degree Arizona sunsets; soundly sleeping in the luxurious beds; sipping coffee on the Arizona porch and star gazing from the outdoor spa. We were able to make delicious meals in the thoughtfully equipped kitchen. The kids were able to have their own space, watching movies and playing in the "office," while we enjoyed nightly visits around the fireplace. With the guest house, and the office, everyone was able to have their own space. The home is filled with gorgeous art, which makes the house unique. We loved exploring the wonders of Tuscon (Sabino Canyon, Old Tuscon Studios, the Sonoran Desert); however, the best part of the day was coming back to this fabulous house set among acres of incredible desert landscape. We also appreciated the warm welcome from the host, Joy who made herself available for any questions throughout our week. And we especially appreciate the way in which the owners prepared the house. We have told our friends so that they may enjoy it, too! We are still talking about our trip, and want to stay at Casa Encantada again, soon.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

For a birthday celebration there is nothing better than a beautiful home under the desert stars with all the amenities! Our group of four adults thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our visit, commencing with the hosts' incredibly accommodating character, through to each recommendation for an event or outing which all proved perfect. Whether enjoying a cool drink mid day on the shaded patio, or coffee on the rooftop under the stars, this well appointed and deliciously decorated vacation home gave us a serene desert outpost to enjoy, with all the luxuries and a stone's throw (well, 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk) to everything you need. Kitt Peak Observatory is a worthwhile stop as well as The Grill at Hacienda del Sol, for dinner. The Desert Museum and hummingbird sanctuary took our breath away. We will definitely be back! There is much else to see and do and this is the perfect location to start.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We saw a beautiful coyote as we drove up the driveway to this amazing home tucked away among the saguaro and prickly pear. As the pictures on the site show, the house is elegant yet whimsical and also warm and welcoming (the bottle of wine waiting for us upon arrival was a very nice touch). The furniture was comfortable and the space well laid out. The owners were responsive to our smallest requests. We felt isolated but not scared and every amenity we could want was a five minute drive down the road. This was a special vacation for us, spent in a place that we would highly recommend to friends and family.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

A very comfortable, peaceful place to spend a vacation. The entire adobe home has a warm atmosphere, is filled with amazing art and well structured so that even with our group of 6, individuals could either commune or find a quiet nook. We used the hot tub each night (may have disturbed the coyotes with our singing), enjoyed listening to the wildlife, slept well in the comfy beds, and the kitchen was well outfitted for any kind of cooking. Shopping was nearby and the home had easy access to Tucson attractions. The owners were very helpful and we enjoyed the wine they left for us. They and we both recommend the Ocotillo Cafe at the Desert Museum which has excellent cuisine and ambiance. We would highly recommend this lovely abode.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
