Perfect for four-generation getaway

Combine this Gearhart abode with an abundance of coastal sunshine and you have the right home and ocean setting for a family outing. We were 12, covering four generations...and the home worked for all. We combed the beach, built sandcastles, flew kites, witnessed an early morning appearance of elk, and enjoyed a Pacific sunset--all from this home filled with amenities, with room for large meals and a wonderful corner bench for lounging with a book. Half-day trips took us to Seaside, Cannon Beach and Astoria. But we would not have had to do that either because settling in here happened quickly. We'd book again if our family or friend group was eight or more. Highly recommend this.

We spent 2 nights here on a family vacation to the coast - had an absolutely wonderful time! Beautifully decorated! The "bunk" room was perfect for the children - huge with it's own tv for movies! Loved the "mud" room - great for dropping beach toys and towels! The kitchen is beautiful and fully stocked with anything you may possibly need to cook or even entertain! The pictures do not show how wonderful this house is! My only caution is that it is quite a distance to the beach - there is a private path, but could be a problem for some people to make the walk (about 3-4 football fields and a pretty steep hill to the beach). We brought a wagon to carry everything in one trip. Again, an absolutely wonderful home! LOVED IT!

Owner response:Just to clarify the most recent review: The beach is approximately 600 feet from the home. Atop the dune is a bench- perfect for watching the waves and viewing the magnificent sunsets. The sand dune is a bit of a climb, but manageable. For those who may have a difficult time with the walk and dune, you can drive approximately 1 mile to a beach access road. From there, you can drive on the beach to set up camp in front of our house! If walking, a wagon is a great idea to bring everything in one trip. We may have to get one to keep at the house! All oceanfront homes in Gearhart have the field of sea grass in front... It's very picturesque but does make for a longer walk to the beach. We really appreciate people taking the time to write reviews. Come visit us soon!

Had a ladies family reunion here and had an AMAZING time! Great location! We loved the walk down to the beach and the quietness of the area. Beautiful house! The only problem was dust collections on the ceiling fan and wall vent-had to clean those before fulling getting comfortable. Would go here again in a heartbeat!

We had a "sisters weekend" at this beautiful home and it was amazingly comfortable. All the beds are pillow top and the sheets seemed to have a very high thread count which made for extremely cozy beds. The views were wonderful and the home had all up to date appliances (fantastic gas stove). Parking was not a problem. The photos on the VRBO website looked exactly like the home so there were no surprises. The owner was extremely helpful in answering all questions. The only issue we ran into was the internet wasn't working but we decided we were on vacation and it wasn't really that important. Some cell phone service was sketchy but again we were on "beach time". I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this home to anyone looking for an updated beach home, right on the ocean, and close to all the amenities in Seaside, Warrenton, Astoria and Cannon Beach. You would not be dissapointed.

Owner response:We have addressed the internet situation by providing a back-up default network and passcode. In the event our primary network is not accessible, it is because the modem has reverted to default mode. The instructions in the home provide the information (networks and passcodes) to easily access the internet. Thank you for looking at our website!

Contemporary Oregon Coast House Rental

I highly recommend this Gearhart oceanfront rental. The house is in like-new condition, contemporary and very comfortable. The neighborhood is peaceful, safe and easy to access. The beach access is a very short walk from the house and the beach itself is more private than locations such as Cannon Beach. This is a great house for a group of people, no matter what age. The kitchen included all dishware and cooking utensils that we needed. There isn't a single negative about this house. I hope to rent it again someday. And a thanks to the owner. They were very easy to plan with and their directions made check-in and check-out very easy.
