Our family was very pleasantly surprised with this lovely house. Casa Fuego was so comfortable with breath taking ocean views. We especially enjoyed the outdoor living area that surrounds the beautiful infinity pool. This is where we spent all of our time when we weren't on the nice sandy beach right in front of the house. Our boys enjoyed the excellent surf right out front as well. If we visit again we would definitely rent this house again. Jarrod was such a pleasure to work with and was quick to answer questions and take care of anything we needed.

Our family of four (kids ages 4 and 7) stayed at Casa Fuego this past spring and I can not say enough good things about it! It was our second trip to Playa Negra and we LOVED staying in this house. You absolutely can not beat the location -- the beach is RIGHT THERE, the pool is awesome, easy walk to Hotel Playa Negra for a quick drink or bite to eat, easy drive into town for even more choices (don't miss Cafe Playa Negra in town for fabulous food; also nearby Lola's, of course). The house was very clean and comfortable -- well stocked kitchen, clean bathrooms, comfy beds. Jarrod and Meaghan were wonderful and provided excellent personal attention -- they answered all my emails/questions quickly, bought groceries for us beforehand, made sure we had boogey boards to use, checked on us often, and gave us all sorts of extra help with recommendations, tips, etc. We will definitely be going back to Playa Negra and Casa Fuego as soon as possible!

We just got back form Playa Negra and had the best time staying at Casa Fuego. This house is in the absolute best location if you want to be on the beach. The view looks directly at the surf beak so you can check the surf from laying in bed! In front of the house is also a sandy beach for the swimmers and boogie boarders in your group. Jarrod does a great job managing this property, it's clean and the pool is amazing! He is available if you need anything while you are there. Casa Fuego has so many areas to enjoy the view and stay out of the sun during the hottest part of the day. I hope to stay in this house every time we are in Playa Negra.

One of the best decisions I made was choosing to stay at Casa Fuego for one week. 9 friends and I (post-college age, but mid twenties), for a spring vacation this past year rented Casa Fuego for 6 days. We wanted a surfing location and a location for a base camp. Luckily we stumbled upon this place. 20 yards away from the water, you cannot get any better. We never left, or traveled anywhere, for we had everything right in front of us. The house was fantastic, great water pressure, great appliances, and great sleeping accommodations. Most important, Jarrod was exceptional in his consideration, advice, and guidance throughout the whole process from beginning to end. He was always on call to answer questions on activities, or proper procedures, etc. Extremely professional. Definitely making a trip back, hopefully to Fuego again.
Owner response:Ian and crew, Thanks for the review, Casa Fuego is a very special home and it's in the best location in all of Playa Negra! We hope to see you guys again, Thanks again, Jarrod Playa Negra Vacation Rentals "Offering the Finest Homes in Playa Negra"

My wife, son and his friend just got back from Casa Fuego. I had severe reservations as to what we were getting ourselves into, having never rented a house like this before. Always done hotels. This place blew us away. Seriously. We are very persnickety and were absolutely ecstatic about the house and the location. Right on the beach? Yeah. We had to turn up the tv/dvd upstairs at night to hear it over the waves! We surfed right out the back yard. In the picture the beach looks close. It really is. There is no way you could find a place closer to the beach without getting wet. The pool is very nice and warm. It is maintained nicely and is always clean. The house was very clean and left us wanting for nothing. There are actually 4 beds in the main house, not counting the extra apartment in the other building. Two decks on the house, upstairs and downstairs. We never experienced mosquitoes at the house, but got found some while walking on the beach after dark. Just be aware of them and be prepared. We saw a turtle laying eggs one night, not through a tour, just by finding it on the beach. Very cool experience. The ocean water is so warm you can stay in all day. If you are going for night life then this is not the place for you. We went to escape people and get off the beaten path to experience some of the 'real' Costa Rica'. We were able to do that and stay in a million dollar house for less than a hotel! Saved some money by cooking our own food, although be aware groceries are expensive down there, not like the inexpensive food in Mexico. Jarrod dealt with me prior to the trip and once we got there. He was very genuinely concerned and helpful. He is very professional and can help with about any questions you may have. I do, honestly, have one concern about writing a glowing review. I want the place unrented when I return! I was so well taken care of and the place was so very nice and clean that I actually felt I owed Jarrod a good review on his property. Get in touch with him and he can show you a webpage where there is a video of the house which helps you see more of it. Pictures, however, just don't do it justice. It is really that nice. Within about a 3 minute drive you can find small places to eat and a couple of surf shops where you can rent boards and get instruction. The people in Costa Rica are awesome. When they say "Pura Vida", they mean it. Pure Life. Can't be more pure than when spent at Casa Fuego.
Owner response:Thanks so much Brad and family! We would absolutely love to have you back to Casa Fuego in the future.... Thanks for the review and please keep in touch, Pura Vida Jarrod

Jarrod, We stayed at Casa Fuego the first week in March and enjoyed every minute of it! You were right, this house has such beautiful views of the ocean. We loved watching the sunset with cocktails in hand while soaking in the infinity pool. We spent a lot of time just relaxing at the house, in the pool and down at the beach. It's the perfect house to really relax and enjoy your vacation. Thank you for your help with our numerous questions and requests. You made the reservation, check in, and our entire stay very easy and pleasant. You were extremely helpful and always responsive. We can't wait to come back some day soon! Sincerely, Kristin Gissaro

Do not hesitate to vacation at Playa Negra and stay at this stunning, spacious, beach home with a view of the majestic Pacific Ocean and immediate access to one of the most sublime beaches in the world. My family all agree that perhaps we have finally found Paradise. We swam daily in the strong, yet gentle, surf; we walked the pristine beach daily, collecting lovely shells and making friends with the Ticos and Ticas. Playa Negra was never crowded. We watched the local fishermen (and women) cast their hand lines twice a day into the high tide and whoop with joy on reeling in their harvests. A local bakery and fishing company arranged to make stops at the house, and some fun, funky, and high-quality eateries were just a pleasant walk down the lane. In a shaded cove next to our beach was a lovely spot to enjoy private massages by two local professionals. One unexpected and delightful discovery about the coastal tropical environment was the constant dry wind that blew from the land toward the ocean, cooling the air and making air-conditioning irrelevant, even undesirable. Even on the hottest days, whether in the house or on the beach, we felt comfortable. The quality of the beach sand itself is worthy of mention: it consists of very fine and smooth volcanic rock particles that are dense and clean. High tide cools off the firm sand and it is never too hot to walk on barefoot. You leave the water after body-surfing and discover no sand on your skin or in the pockets of bathing suits. The sand settles quickly and the surf is crystal clean with no seaweed or garbage. Jarrod Guidry's kindness and his gentle and effective management of the property is perfect. He was available when we needed him and checked in on us daily; he told us about the place where the locals ate, arranged zip-lining and snorkeling for our children, and made our time even easier. This has to be one of the sweetest places we have ever visited. There is so much more than what we have written. Like the sunsets! Do not hesitate. We're going back. Courtney Reid and Michael Vogt

Hello, My friends and I recently stayed at your home in Playa Negra, and wanted to take a moment to thank you. The house was amazing, and everyone had a great time. We especially enjoyed being able to play all day with our two toddlers on the patio and in the pool, all while being able to keep a watchful eye on the world class break just a stone’s throw away. We also wanted to take a moment to let you know how helpful and accommodating Jarrod and Meaghan with Playa Negra Vacation rentals were throughout the entire process. From our initial contact up through the end of our trip, they promptly responded to all our questions, took care of every detail, and made our trip that much more fun with good tips on where to eat and surf. The little things they did, like provide a pack-n-play and mosquito net for our toddler, really made a difference in our stay. We'll certainly be using Playa Negra Vacation rentals again for our next trip to Costa Rica, as this was one of the best vacations we have ever had.Again, thank you for letting us stay in your home.
