A two bedroom, two bath apartment in Casale Agrifoglio, a stone farmhouse that has just been fully restored. This old farmhouse has been reconstructed using all the original preserved building materials and traditional local building materials (stone walls, terra cotta floor tiles, stone sinks and fireplaces, wood beams). The house is situated on a scenic hill area in the beautiful countryside between Perugia and Gubbio, in the town of Fratticiola Selvatica (a small village with basic shops and services less than 1 km away).

Umbria, known as 'The Green Heart of Italy', is a rich tapestry of vineyards, olive groves, fields of sunflowers, wooded hills and snow-capped mountains interspersed with tiny hill-top towns and great places to visit such as Assisi, Perugia, Gubbio, Deruta, Orvieto, Todi, Lake Trasimeno, and many, many others. Fly into Rome (1.5 hours) or Florence (1.5 hours) and enjoy the scenic Italian countryside before your arrival in Umbria.

Year Purchased: 2005

We have both enjoyed traveling in Italy for many years and finally decided to buy a vacation property in the beautiful countryside. We are also the owners of The Umbrian Olive Oil Company which wholesales premium Umbrian olive oil in the US.

Why the Owner Chose Perugia

This part of Italy is incredibly beautiful and is becoming a more well-known destination. The property is located close (1.5 hours) to major airports in Rome and Florence. In addition, the Umbrian hill towns of Assisi, Spello, Orvieto and Gubbio are full of historic treasures to experience. Umbria is a fantastic year round destination.

We have all the comforts of home at our Italian property. There is a large loggia for dining and relaxing outside. In addition, the property has modern appliances as well as two large modern bathrooms.
