Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 1995
We love the country life with a little city activity and fun. We enjoy travel, gardening, reading, cooking, wine, family & friends... art, music, good conversation, and meeting new people... the wonderful experiences that make life special. I practice pilates and have studied energetic healing. My husband and I are both retired and looking forward to seeing other parts of the country and the world. If you enjoy a charming quiet neighborhood with a lively little city within walking distance we hope you will enjoy our cottage in St. Augustine.
Why the Owner Chose St. Augustine
My husband and I live in Sonoma California. My husband grew up in California and I grew up in Florida. So loving both states we bought a vacation home in St. Augustine Florida to be close to my family part of the year. We chose St. Augustine because of it's historic charm, good food, art, music and scenic beauty.
The Unique Benefits of this House
St. Augustine feels like our home in Sonoma, California...except with a beach, Florida vibe. It is a small city with lots of activity but it's easy to find quiet natural beauty nearby to enjoy. In Sonoma it's a walk through the vineyards in St. Augustine it's a walk on the unspoiled state beach or a walk through the old town early in the morning. There are wonderful galleries and restaurants in both places and beautiful music in many venues. Both areas have farmer's markets... if you love to cook as we do.. and there's even one winery in St. Augustine. Of course, there are many wineries in Sonoma... but no beaches.
