Our Historic, vacation cottage is decorated with a current mix of local art, antiques and comfortable contemporary upholstered furniture. The saltbox style house has an open upstairs porch to enjoy an evening breeze, a relaxing drink and catch a glimpse of the intercoastal waterway. The enclosed, downstairs porch is a great place to have your morning coffee or an afternoon cup of tea with a good book. There is also a small private garden in the back of the house.
A short walk from the cottage through the historic district or along the intercostal waterway brings you to Old St. Augustine. Within blocks are the marina, St. George Street, the beautiful historic hotel, Casa Monica, Flagler College, a landmark building and beautiful example of turn of the century architecture, the old Spanish Fort, a National Park, and many other historic sites. Local trollies are an inexpensive and easy way to see the sights and the driver always provides a little local history.
If you want to enjoy fine dining and music there are a number of excellent restaurants in the old town. There is also lively casual dining and entertainment. A romantic carriage ride is a memorable way to end a beautiful day.
If you enjoy art there are many fine galleries in the old town . A little north of the Spanish Fort there is a small Antique district.
Local food , art and music festivals are held throughout the year and add to the fun of your stay in the area. A short 5 – 10 minute ride will bring you to some of the most beautiful beaches anywhere. The state park beach is an undeveloped , unspoiled, beach for sunning, swimming, walking or riding your bicycle. Just minutes from the state beach is St. Augustine Beach with fun restaurants, music and typical beach activities.
If you love to golf there are many world class golf courses in the area. St Augustine has often been our base for exploring the surrounding areas. A two hour drive North brings you to Savannah, Georgia a very different but beautiful historic city. One hour south is Daytona Beach, home of the Daytona 500 Nascar races.

I love this place! So much more than what I expected. It was located within walking distance to most of the attractions in the historic district and just minutes from St. George Street and all the shops. Within steps you were at the intercostal waterway and at night you could see the beacon light from the St Augustine Lighthouse. The beach was just a short drive away and I enjoyed the street market at the St Augustine Beach Pier. Horse drawn carriages would drive by in the evening and you could hear the ghost tours as they stroll along the street. Such a quaint and unique part of town. The cottage was very tastefully decorated with all the comforts of home. It was very clean and all was well maintained. I love the stackable washer/dryer and the large walkin closets. What a bonus!! There was an enclosed courtyard out back with a trellis encompassed with jasmine plus chairs with an unbrella. A nice place to come and relax at night after the days activities. Judith the owner, was very good to work with and really went out of her way to accommodate my schedule. Phil met me and familiarized me with all the conveniences of the cottage and what it had to offer. He checked in several times to make sure everything was going good. It was really nice to know they were there if I needed them. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great vacation with all the comforts of home. I've been here 6 weeks and it feels like home. I know I am definitely going to miss it. I hope to come back again soon!! Thanks Judith and Phil for everything.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

About the owner: We love the country life with a little city activity and fun. We enjoy travel, gardening, reading, cooking, wine, family & friends... art, music, good conversation, and meeting new people... the wonderful experiences that make life special. I practice pilates and have studied energetic healing. My husband and I are both retired and looking forward to seeing other parts of the country and the world. If you enjoy a charming quiet neighborhood with a lively little city within walking distance we hope you will enjoy our cottage in St. Augustine.
Why the Owner Chose St. Augustine:
My husband and I live in Sonoma California. My husband grew up in California and I grew up in Florida. So loving both states we bought a vacation home in St. Augustine Florida to be close to my family part of the year. We chose St. Augustine because of it's historic charm, good food, art, music and scenic beauty.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
St. Augustine feels like our home in Sonoma, California...except with a beach, Florida vibe. It is a small city with lots of activity but it's easy to find quiet natural beauty nearby to enjoy. In Sonoma it's a walk through the vineyards in St. Augustine it's a walk on the unspoiled state beach or a walk through the old town early in the morning. There are wonderful galleries and restaurants in both places and beautiful music in many venues. Both areas have farmer's markets... if you love to cook as we do.. and there's even one winery in St. Augustine. Of course, there are many wineries in Sonoma... but no beaches.
