Imagine yourself sitting on the expansive flagstone patio right next to the lake (with a beverage in hand) watching the orange and purple sunset. Between you and that sunset is a beautiful bay. Part of your family is cruising by with a water skier in tow. You're thinking about getting a little shade and extend the motorized awning.
Can it be almost 8 o'clock? You'd better fire up the gas barbeque. Dinner is all set to grill and was prepared earlier in one of the two gourmet kitchens, each equipped well enough for a cooking show with two sinks, two dishwashers and Wolf stoves. The whole house has brand new everything, yet it looks and feels like it's been here for years. It's big enough for your family reunion but is also great for multiple families or a corporate retreat. It has 4 master suites, each with its own beautiful bathroom. For kids, there's a delightful bunkroom that sleeps six. It shares a large Jack and Jill bathroom with a cozy additional bedroom with a queen bed.
Tonight you'll probably find some of your group at the fire pit on the beach or playing cards around our grandfather's old poker table. You, however, can escape to your king sized bed, open the big windows and listen to the waves.
Tomorrow you're thinking of going hiking in Glacier Park, only 1.5 hours away. That is, unless the lake is really smooth, in which case you may take a boat tour of some of Flathead's 25 miles then have a picnic on Wildhorse Island (just across the bay). Tomorrow night, after playing Bocce on the big green lawn, you might have cocktails in the hot tub--or maybe the gazebo? So many decisions!
Our home is a wonderful retreat in a very special place. Over five generations of our family have made memories here. We all call it home, even when we don't live here. You will too.

Year Purchased: 1933
Here we are enjoying the late afternoon sun on the beach. Our lake property has been in our family for 5 generations. A few years ago, we decided to build a lodge that would give our families some individual privacy, but would also allow us to sip coffee and share the fun of the lake together. 'We' are two sisters (Debby and Shelley) who spent our childhood summers on this land and as much time as possible since. Deb spends part of the year here and the rest in Colorado or chasing her kids about the planet. Shelley and husband, Tim. live in Missoula, Montana with their teenage sons. They also split their time between the two places.
Why the Owner Chose Polson
We didn't 'chose' to buy this property! We got really lucky that our grandparents and parents chose it--and we think it's one of the most special places on earth. We are committed to passing it on to our children, as well. Over the past several years we have completely rebuilt our home, focusing everything on the beautiful lake that is only a few steps from our huge flagstone patio. It's really two homes in one, with two gourmet kitchens designed for real cooking and entertaining. It has several living rooms and many places to gather--and to escape. The yard is also amazing with lots of room to play.
The Unique Benefits of this House
The really special things about our home: 1. It's brand new, gorgeous, beautifully decorated and is designed to bring the outdoors inside. 2. We've used tons (literally) of local stone along with beautiful hardwood to give it a natural feeling. 3. The green grass yard, swing set and sand box are designed for kids and croquet and bocce and badmitten and laying down and watching clouds. 4. The dock is only a few feet from the front door. 5. The fire pit is a place to make s'mores you'll all remember. 6. The beach is gradual and the swimming is great. 7. The gazebo is perfect for conversation 8. The hot tub has a great view of the lake. 9. The sunsets are fabulous! 10. Cooks will think they have found cooking heaven. 11. The beds are all wonderful and the bunk room is a kid's delight. 12. Hiking and biking are terrific. There are 3 golf courses within 30 minutes and they are affordable. 13.Flathead Lake is the very best and you are right on it.
