NORTH YELLOWSTONE CABIN RENTAL ON LARGE PRIVATE ACREAGE EXTREMELY CLOSE TO THE PARK'S BEST WILDLIFE WATCHING AND CUTTHROAT TROUT FISHING!
Charming cabin built in 2009 with two bedrooms that sleeps 5-8 located just five minutes from Yellowstone Park's North Entrance on 26 acres of private property. Perfect for travelers who want easy access to the famous Northern Range and Lamar Valley with its bison, elk, deer, wolves, bears, AND fishing for world-famous Yellowstone cutthroat trout!
This beautiful cabin is unlike all other vacation rental properties in the area. Lying in an extremely private location on a hill just above Highway 89 north of Gardiner, Montana, and the Roosevelt Arch, the cabin is easily accessed by a well-maintained, short, 300 yard-long Private Drive.
This setting provides you with total solitude and isolation from any hustle and bustle of the busy roadways leading to/from the park. However, at the same time, when needed, you are just minutes away from restaurants, the market, and shops in Gardiner or a bit further away in Livingston and Bozeman.
Built on a log frame, this cabin has all modern amenities yet has a great amount of rustic appeal including beautiful hardwood floors. It has enormous windows giving you unmatched views of Yellowstone's Electric Peak, Devil's Slide, Dome Mountain, and many other spectacular geological features. Wildlife abound here and each morning deer, elk, pronghorn antelope, bighorn sheep, or bison are typically seen on the meadows and mountain slopes near the cabin. No-where else in the northern Rockies will you find wildlife this abundant and close in a natural setting.
Horses graze in distant pastures, and the Yellowstone River, home to world-class trout fishing, leaves the park and passes just a few hundred yards below you. There are many access sites to the Yellowstone River very near to the cabin, one within easy walking distance (that is a very great fishing spot...just ask our boys!).
Being near Gardiner, our cabin is at the home of the Yellowstone Association, a long-standing educational institute offering numerous courses in the park. The Electric Peak Cabin is a perfect place to stay when visiting and attending these courses.

Other comments from the Thayer's as written in the cabin guestbook: Our first couple of days here we had friends from Missoula join us in the cabin. We went to see the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and Old Faithful. We were fortunate enough to see elk, bison, bighorn sheep, mule deer, and a wolf. We got to hear an elk bugle and a wolf howl. We took Mt. Washburn trail up to a lookout (at 10,000 feet) and that was awesome! This was our second trip to Yellowstone. The first time was with our kids - that was five years ago. Now we want to come out every five years! After our friends left we drove from the cabin down to the Tetons and like last time we still think that it is the most beatiful mountian range we've seen - and we've seen the Swiss Alps!! We drove nearly every open mile of road in the park and most of them a couple times. We drove the Blacktail Plateau (near the cabin) at least three times because this is where a black bear walked right in front of our car on our last trip here. This time we saw a black bear and also a large Grizzly feeding on a carcass just off the road.

Thanks for giving us a WONDERFUL HONEYMOON!!! The cabin is beautiful, so cute! Comfy and clean! We had a wonderful time, saw tons of buffalo and elk, a little chipmunk and a pronghorn. We drove all over from the cabin, and put 900 miles on our car. The food in town is very good! Everyone here is super friendly! We enjoyed ourselves at night watching movies in this sweet cabin. Lacey & Jonathan p.s. The windows on the front of the cabin are awesome! Great view anytime of the day or night....Love it!!!

We had such a great time here! The cabin is more than we could ask for. The view is breathtaking and we really enjoyed meeting the Koel's. This is the first family vacation we've had in a while, and I could not think of a better place and time. The lack of heat and bugs is great this time of year. It's our last fall day here and I never did see a moose, wolf, or bear, but we saw lots of elk (bugling bulls) and bison. I'll never forget this time with my family in this incredible place!

Other comments from the Campbell's as written in the cabin guestbook: We are so proud of ourselves - did Mt Washburn! Took 6 hours but what a great hike! On the way "home" we stopped in the hot pools of the Gardiner River and soaked our weary bones - Then ate at the great restaurant with the 2nd story view of the entrance to Yellowstone. Sandie & Todd you have done a wonderful job establishing the perfect retreat. We will be back!

We instantly appreciated the aesthetics of this cabin hide-away. It was comfortable, well-equipped, and certainly boasts the starriest skies imaginable! We traveled to the Lamar Valley where we enjoyed the expansive landscape, color, and wildlife. It was an inspiring place and we also enjoyed a hike up to Trout Lake where we encountered fly fisherman catching and releasing very large cutthroat trout. A bison stood by. The following day we traveled to Norris and observed quite a confrontation between two bull elk. They bugled, postured, and eventually found a way to co-exist - thank goodness! We enjoyed the hot springs, geysers, and thermal activity at Norris. We enjoyed the mud pots the most. We later ate lunch on the bank of a stream, and on the way back to Gardiner, we hiked the trail to Beaver Pond. Back to Vermont tomorrow, thank you for the comfortable haven at Electric Peak Cabin!
