Situated in the village of Murrisk, County Mayo and 6 miles from the beautiful town of Westport, with its fabulous shops, traditional Irish pubs and restaurants, this home is the perfect location for a getaway.
Choose from a variety of activities; climb Croagh Patrick (.5 mile), take a stroll on Bertra Beach (1 mile), play golf (6 miles) or seek the excitement of windsurfing, abseiling, canoeing and rock climbing at the nearby Atlantic Adventure Centre in Lecanvey (1.5 miles) or Delphi.
An ideal base for visits to the Clew Bay Islands of Clare Island and Inishturk, Killary Harbour, Kylemore Abbey and gardens, and the beautiful Ashford Castle in Cong.
In the evening take a stroll down to 'The Tavern' for some wonderful cuisine and a creamy pint of guinness. Later in the evening, join the traditional musicians in Stauntons pub in Lecanvey for some ceol agus craic (music and fun) or venture to the towns of Westport or Louisburgh for all kinds of entertainment.
Our 4 BR Irish cottage (Downstairs 2 doubles with en-suite; Upstairs 1 Queen and 1 twin sharing bathroom) offers all the comforts of a modern home with fully equipped kitchen and utility with washer/dryer along with the traditional open fire.

Why the Owner Chose Westport
We are both from Co Mayo but are living in the city of Dublin. We always wanted a retreat in the west and with the combination of sea and mountain views, and its proximity to various amenities Murrisk was just perfect.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Croagh Patrick, (which is literally in the back garden) offers wonderful peace and tranquility. It is just enough to sit and view from the patio or for the more energetic the views it offers from the top are breathtaking. Every time we go there it just get more and more beautiful.
The nearest beach, 'Bertra' is only 1 mile walk from the house with stunning views over Clew Bay to Clare Island, Achill Island (accessible by car) and Mulranny.
The nearest restaurant is less than 1 mile and has wonderful cusine catering for everyone's needs and the local pub, Campbells (half mile) sells the essentials such as Bread, milk and tea as well as a creamy pint of guinness.
If one seeks the peace and ruggedness of the Clew Bay islands, the boats for Clare Island and Inishturk leave from Roonagh Pier which is just the other side of Louisburgh (7 miles)
Nearby Westport has leisure centres and Westport House and Zoo to keep all entertained whilst the nearest cinema is in Castlebar (12miles)
Galway city is just 1 hours drive so really if you want to discover the West coast of Ireland this is the perfect base.
