  We've rented many vacation homes from vrbo and are always a little hesitant about the condition in which we will find a rental, but this apartment was nearly perfect. Dan goes to great detail anticipating the needs of his renters. The little touches he provided to make us feel at home were greatly appreciated from the thick duvets and pillows on the beds and lush towels in the bathroom to the "starter foods" of coffee and soda in the kitchen. (Our flight got in late, so it was especially nice not to have to stop at the store on the way to the apartment.) The temperatures had dropped to a cool high of 50 (we're from Florida) about the time we arrived, so the fireplace was extremely welcome. Dan provided a couple of starter logs, but we were able to buy bundles of firewood at local grocery stores (Fred Meyer, New Seasons) for $4 each. We spent many pleasant evenings cooking meals, playing board games (provided by my son), and catching up with our son and his wife by the fire. The apartment was very comfortably and tastefully furnished. It felt like home. The apartment is in a building of four apartments (very quiet neighbors) that share a basement with a coin-operated washer and dryer. Dan even provided enough coins to do a load of laundry, something I didn't expect to take him up on but was very appreciative of after a muddy hike in Macleay Park! Our only regret was that the weather was too cool to enjoy the back porch. From the inside it looked like a great place to hang out. The apartment is located just a couple blocks from NW 23rd Avenue, a very pleasant shopping district in NW Portland. There were many shops and restaurants within walking distance. Overall one of our best experiences with vrbo. Thanks, Dan, for helping us feel so much at home.

  We thoroughly enjoyed this little gem! It was convenient and livable with the leaser leaving lots of amenities for our convenience. The apartment was super clean, full of charm and we hope to be "a regular" when we're in Portand again.

  This was our first trip to Portland and we couldn't have picked a better spot. We spent an enjoyable week taking in all that Portland has to offer. The apartment provided easy walking access to streetcar, restaurants, shopping and parks. The owner has thought of every detail including luxury linens/towels, comfortable beds, personal amenities, pantry items & kitchen utensils, local guide books, quality entertainment systems, and even quarters for the washing machine. The owner was also very accommodating to our infant, providing a pack'n'play, linens, and high chair. We particularly enjoyed relaxing on the back porch of an evening with a glass of local wine. The apartment was very clean and well maintained, and exceeded our expectations. Considering this is our 5th VRBO experience, we rate this experience highly.

• Perfect Portland

  We stayed here for three nights with our two daughters who were anxious to show us Portland. I hadn't been there for 20 years so a lot has changed! We were able to get to almost every district easily but could have readily stayed where we were! Equal distance to great hikes and great shopping and restaurants. The apartment was lovely, and the owner generous with amenities. I don't imagine staying anywhere else in the future! Thanks so much for a GREAT vacation.

  Great location. This unit is very well maintained. The pictures are very accurate. My Husband and I agree this is one of our favorites that we rented using the VRBO website. The owner was very great to work with. He always responding to my emails very quickly. Don't hesitate renting this unit you will not be disappointed. Rent a car for couple of days to visit MT ST Helens, MT Hood and Cannon Beach it is worth the trip.

  The apartment was clean, quaint and felt like home. The location was great, close to great shopping and attractions. The owner was friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone looking for a place in Portland.

  My family and I were in town for a wedding, and we rented both units in the building. They worked out great for us and were clean when we arrived and had everything we needed. There are nice decks facing the backyard, where we spent a lot of the time when we were there. We walked to 23rd St. where all the shops and restaurants are, and took the trolley from there over to the Pearl District. I would definitely recommend this property.

  Very comfortable and nicely appointed 2 bedroom-1 bath apt. Nice kitchen with new appliances. We used the deck in back one evening. Location was excellent and convenient to shops and the many excellent restaurants in area. During our stay we always found parking along the street. The only negative comment is that the street on which this apartment is situated, NW 25th, is a high traffic thoroughfare especially in the early morning and evening hours (commuters I presume). But with some music or television on it was hardly noticeable inside the apartment.

  Location can't be beat - close to restaurants, shops, etc. Apartment is very comfortable - comfortable beds, comfortable living space - and very clean. Kitchen was well supplied for our purposes and we used the laundry in the basement which worked out well. Also enjoyed the little deck off the dining area. Had one small "complaint" which is that there was no dvd player despite the listing saying there was. Normally this would be a non-issue but as I was in Portland for a minor medical procedure and was on bed rest for 2 days, this was a bit of a bummer as I came prepared with DVD's. The owner was very apologetic, but at the end of the day, there was still no dvd player.

50% is due upon making the reservation and becomes non refundable 60 days prior to arrival. The balance is due and non-refundable 30 days in advance of arrival. You will be sent entry instructions upon receipt of your final payment. If we are able to rent the unit for the dates cancelled we will attempt to refund a portion of the rent subject to a handling fee.
