Great Apartment!

We loved our stay in Portland last week. The apartment was well equipped and provided lots of room for our family of four. The beds were super comfortable! If you want a little more space located in a charming neighborhood with lots of vibe, this is the rental for you. Many thanks Dan for all your help!

Northwest Portland

Guest: Mary (Fort Collins, CO)
Date of Stay: 04/07/12 Review Submitted: 04/12/12

The apartment was very attractive and all the furnishings, including linens, furniture, appliances, etc. were simple and appealing. The beds were especially comfortable. We enjoyed using the outdoor deck. We prefer not to rent a car when we visit Portland, and the location is excellent for getting around on foot or by public transportation It's on a bus route, and within a short walk of the Portland Streetcar and all the restaurants on NW23rd St. A slightly longer walk (or bus ride) takes you to Forest Park with miles of hiking trails. The owner was very helpful and everything was as advertised. I'd definitely stay here again and would recommend this property to others.

Owner response:Thank you for the great review and we look forward to having you back! Cheers, Dan

We had a wonderful stay. The apartment was clean, comfortable & exceeded our expectations. We never had an issue with parking. Restaurants, grocery stores, coffee and shopping were all within walking distance. The Pearl District was a quick 10 min walk. Dan was very easy to work with. We will definitely stay here again.

Our group enjoyed staying in such a charming apartment - full of character, yet modern. The listing's pictures were exact, so no surprises. I had several questions ahead of time, which the owners promptly answered. Very much appreciated our stay here and I received MANY compliments on choosing such a place in a trendy area of town. I would stay again!!

We had a great time staying at your condo in Portland - excellent condo - helpful owner

Guest: Michael (North Carolina)
Date of Stay: 12/23/11 Review Submitted: 02/12/12

My wife and I stayed at your condo last Christmas while visiting our children in Portland. The condo was in excellent shape, and a great location. It was an easy walk down to 23rd street and the restaurant and shopping district. Streetcar was 2 blocks away. An easy and pleasant walk to either. It was a bit rainy and chilly so we used the fireplace which gave the condo an even nicer feel. The owner brought over firewood... a real sweet gesture. There was enough room for us, kids and a few friends to have game night on the dining room table. We are planning on going back to visit again for 2 or 3 weeks in the fall or spring, and will most likely try to rent this place again.

Owner response:Thanks for the review and look forward to having you back!

Perfect flat for 4 persons.

Guest: Jordrok (Havre-aux-Maisons, Quebec, Canada)
Date of Stay: 10/25/11 Review Submitted: 11/11/11

Perfect! Extremely clean and well equipped. Very spacious, even for 4 persons. Nice balcony to sit outside, protected from wind and rain. The kitchen was top notch! It is not located in the city center per se, but in a beautiful (some may say posh) part of town, Nob Hill. The neighborhood is so nice (near the parks!) and public transport is frequent and well organized. Shopping is great on 23rd avenue, two blocks away from the flat, nice restaurants.

My husband and I rented the apartment for four days and it was great!!! The location can't be beat. We did not rent a car and found it really easy to get to all ends of town with the bus, max line and street car. It was one of the best vacations I've had in a long time. Everything you see in the photos are exactly the same. The apartment is comfortable & everything you need is avalable. I would definately stay here again.

This was our second stay at this terrific two-bedroom apartment located just blocks from the heart of the NW shopping and entertainment district. While only a few blocks from the throbbing pulse of Nob Hill, the apartment is located on a residential street with ample on-street parking. This clean, well-stocked apartment is our home away from home whenever we visit our daughter and son-in-law who live nearby.

Great spot in a great neighbourhood!

Guest: Paul (Vancouver, Canada)
Date of Stay: 09/11/11 Review Submitted: 09/15/11

My wife and I shared this well-appointed unit with our 3 month old son and my wife's parents for 3 nights. Fantastic location close to 23rd/21st Avenue restaurants, shopping and street car access. Beds and furniture were comfortable, the kitchen was well-stocked, the A/C came in very handy with the 37 degree weather on the day that we arrived, and the price was very reasonable. The neighbourhood was perfect and all-in-all, a terrific time for our first visit to Portland - we'll definitely come back on our next visit if it's available.

My husband and I spent almost four weeks in this apartment. The location is ideal - so close to shops and restaurants and yet in a nice, quiet neighborhood. The apartment is charming - very well decorated and equipped. We loved having the small, private patio which is off of the dining room. It was perfect for entertaining guests. The owners were extremely helpful and considerate and I would highly recommend this property.

PERFECT place to stay yet again!

Guest: LOPfamily (Sierra Foothills, California)
Date of Stay: 07/29/11 Review Submitted: 08/01/11

This was our second stay at this beautiful location and we'll definitely be back again! The listing description can't possibly do this place justice - it will be better than your expectations. We are a family of four (two children ages 8 and 10) and the past two years we have stayed here to both tour Portland and drive the easy 1/2 hour distance to Canby to visit relatives. We've been able to walk to most everything or drive 5-15 minutes to the Waterfront (kids love the Salmon Street Springs fountain), Powell's Books, and OMSI. We wouldn't hesitate a moment to recommend this place; thanks again for being a huge part of making Portland an annual vacation destination for our family.

Comfortable, Clean Apartment - Superb Owner makes your stay delightful

Guest: andy (evanston, il)
Date of Stay: 07/25/11 Review Submitted: 08/20/11

We had a great time in this lovely apartment. The owner is so concerned about the quality of the place that when I pointed out that there was insufficient lighting for reading, the owner purchased a new, very fancy lamp and delivered it the next day. The patio outside the dining room has four comfy chairs - I loved having morning coffee there. The well stocked kitchen has all the amenities - and most of the cooking staples - you'll need. This was our second vrbo experience, and it sets the standard - highest quality, greatest comfort, personable and attentive owner.

The apartment was charming! Absolutley loved the place. Location was within walking distance to restaurants and shops. Well maintained and very clean place. The picutres on VRBO are "spot-on" and the description is accurate. We would definately recommend this location and would absolutely stay there again if we get a chance to go back to Portland. The owner was great and responded to my many emails of questions and phone calls. He was wonderful to work with. I would recommend this place to friends and family.

Ideal Vacation Rental

Guest: Amy C. (Boston MA)
Date of Stay: 06/18/11 Review Submitted: 07/22/11

One of the nicest apartment rentals we have ever stayed in. Spacious, pristine and incredibly well equipped – everything feels brand new. Very comfortable living room, nice dining room with outside deck, spotless kitchen, and two comfortable bedrooms. The building was quiet and despite being right next to the front door we did not hear any noise. Great location on a pretty street with a quick walk down to 23rd and the streetcar. The owners were very good with communication, responding quickly to questions. We were very pleased with our stay and will definitely rent this place again next time we come to Portland. Excellent value.

My wife and I were in Portland for our daughters graduation from PSU. I shared the house with another daughter and her boyfriend. We used the house as our base. We walked everywhere and when we got tired we hopped the trolley or train. The house was in a great neighborhood and was convenient to just about everything.

Date of Stay: 05/20/11 Review Submitted: 07/12/11

My adult son and I stayed here from May 20th to May 25th, 2011. Daniel is an excellent communicator. This apartment is so conveniently located and perfectly laid out that I did not want to leave! Hard wood floors make for a few noises coming from upstairs but nothing unexpected for that vintage building. The beds were SO comfortable. I was worried that a twin bed would be too small for me but this one is AMAZING...a cocoon for sumptuous sleep. The kitchen is perfect. There is no detail missed on this place. I am going to be back here many times!

Convent neighborhood...posh digs..comfy beds

Guest: Bostonfan (Sparks, NV)
Date of Stay: 05/20/11 Review Submitted: 06/13/11

Portland rolled out the sunshine for us and we found these accommodations to be better than shown here. I was concerned about the possibility that the twin bed would be confining or uncomfortable...no worries..it was so luscious that I wanted to pack it up & take it home! The kitchen was a dream. The back deck/porch was very relaxing. Talk about location...who needs a car when street cars and buses and light rail are all a small stroll away. Get a transit pass & have no concerns about exact change or fares. Markets (trader joes, etc) are in easy walking distance. Oh, my adult son, all 6 ft 5 in of him, found the queen bed comfy and roomy. The wifi helped him keep work under control. If you are not used to hardwood floors remember they are above you, too, and you will hear the squeaks & thumpity thumps of the upstairs neighbors...it was not obtrusive at all. Having a two bedroom apartment for the price of a good hotel room makes visiting this fun, hip mecca of Portland even more delightful. I am so thrilled that you are converting another apartment in this 4plex to a VRBO!

Our experience at your place was great. We spent a week visiting our son who is attending PSU. His apartment is a few blocks away from your place and that made it very convenient to spend time with him. The location was perfect. Nice neighborhood. We didn't even rent a car. We were able to get to your place from the airport by way of the Trimet and streetcar and then a short 2 block walk. We walked to 23rd street and anywhere else we wanted to go we took the streetcar and Trimet. 5 star convenient location. The accommodations were tremendous! Just as described and the pictures on the website were exactly descriptive. The patio was really nice to sit and relax. The complete kitchen with great appliances made it just like home. We spent a lot of time socializing at the dining room table. The available candles were a nice touch. I liked having access to a washer and dryer. The rest of the place was comfortable. Nice shower and bathroom. Plenty of linens. The beds were comfortable, my only suggestion would be a king size bed in the master bedroom. It was nice to have the bose ipod stand for music. All of your directions and instructions were easy to understand and helpful. My favorite extra touch were the quarters for use with the washer and dryer. The spring flowers and landscaping was very welcoming. We will stay again next time we visit. Thank you very much for a great place ant a great price!

Guest: Scott (Seattle)
Date of Stay: 04/08/11 Review Submitted: 04/11/11

We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment is as advertised - wood floors, nicely furnished, lovely back porch looking out on a back yard where our kids played. The linens are very nice including fluffy, new duvets. Kitchen had all the amenities you could possibly want. Northwest Portland out your backdoor including great hiking in Macleay Park. Only downside was that the apartment above has wood floors and the neighbor enjoyed wearing her high heels at 2am. Nevertheless, I would highly recommend this spot. Just bring along ear plugs in case it's samba night upstairs.

I stayed here with my wife and 6-year old daughter in November, 2010. We found the apartment itself to be very comfortable and roomy - dedicated dining room, laundry, lots of room for clothes, etc. And the beds were, quite frankly, exquisite. Kitchen was great and, of course, the location perfect if you want to be practically in the city, but also have a neighborhood feel. The icing on the cake is the public transportation in Portland - the only bus stop we used (to go everywhere) was a beautiful 2 block walk. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed it and they even mailed back my daughters kindergarten ID card when the cleaners found it! Thanks, Dan.

My stay at this property made a business trip as comfortable as being at home. For the price of a hotel in Portland, I was able have my wife and daughter with me on the trip. The location, just off 23rd street, kept my wife and daughter more than occupied while I had to work. I will definitely be back, and highly recommend.

My wife and I recently spent a week in Portland. We have rented other vaction rentals in the Portland area, but this apartment exceeded our expectaions and is now our favorite lodging choice. It was the first time we had stayed in the NorthWest District. We loved the location with great restaurants within easy walking distance. The Metro Street Car stop is three blocks away and provided easy access to the Pearl District and downtown. The apartment is as advertised very cean, comfortable, and tastefully furnished. The owners were very helpful in providing excellent recommendations for restaurants and specialty shops. We would defintely recommend this unit for anyone looking for a home away from home.

I came to Portland to visit my son. I had picked out other places to stay but he didn't like my choices. He found this one and said this was the right place to be for the best of everything. Boy was he ever right. The location was in the best part of Portland, just a short walk to 23rd Street for all the restaurants and to Forest Park for great walks. The amenities were of high quality such as Hunter Douglas blinds, thick bath towels, very comfortable bed, nice appliances and cookware in the kitchen, the cupboard was stocked with basic cooking needs, convenient washer and dryer, pleasant decor, maps and books about Portland. It is very easy to write this review when everything is this good. This will be the first place I will try to rent for my next visit to Portland. Ed

We just loved Portland and staying here. The beds are extremely comfortable, the organic olive oil soap was a luxury touch and it was fun and easy to cook and eat on the back porch. Everything was there in the kitchen for preparation, and we loved not having to buy our own olive oil, balsamic vinegar, etc. Dan really went out of his way to make our stay perfect and it was perfect. We were so centrally located we could easily get where ever we wanted. Thank you for a wonderful time!

Owner response:Portland is a wonderful place and it is very nice to be appreciated, Thanks! Dan

Wonderful stay!

Our stay at this property was wonderful. It was spotless, well-appointed, comfortable, and the location was perfect. Dan promptly responded to all inquiries. We brought our 1 year old daughter and the flat had a pack-and-play with sheet, as well as a booster chair for her, which was wonderful. The floors are creaky and the doors are loud (love the old building!) so our sound machine came in handy for naps and nighttime sleep. Overall, a fabulous experience. We would definitely stay here again!

Owner response:Old world charm! Thanks for the review and look forward to having you back!

NW Portland Location in July

The apartment was fantastic. It immediately felt like home as soon as we walked in. The apartment seemed very clean and well taken care of. The air conditioning worked great. We really put it to the test that week with >95 degree weather. The small deck on the back was a great place to sit with your significant other or friends to have a glass of wine and great conversation. The apartment is in a fantastic neighborhood with great food and shopping within walking distance. The only thing that I would change is the early check-out time. 10AM is early to be able to have everything organized and packed up especially if you had a big event the night before. I would recommend this location to anyone visiting the Portland area.

Owner response:Glad you had a great time and thanks for the review! Sorry about the 10:00am check out but I think you can understand that when we have back to back rentals the cleaners need every moment to get it ready for guests coming in at 3:00pm. Best, Dan

BEST VRBO

My husband and two teenaged boys had a great 5 days in Portland! June 8-13, 2010. The apartment is extremely well appointed with cool furniture and bedding. It is very roomy and clean. The washing machine and dryer in the basement were easy to use. The owner answered all the questions. The location is in the heart of it all, but on a relatively quiet street. We did Guy Fieri's "dives" in Portland. All were outstanding. We also checked out colleges for the teenagers. Trip to Salem was worth the drive. Despite a bit of rain, Portland is such a hip town to visit. The parks and trails are fabulous nearby, as well as shopping. Powell's Books is a must see. The Hood River area and wine country is just a short distance too. Don't hesitate and rent this place for a very reasonable and extremely fun vacation. On yeah, everyone is so nice and they drive their cars defensively. We live in Sacramento and will come back.

Dan keeps a well maintained and comfortable property. With a perfect location, just walk down 25th NW to Thurman for: Food Front (a great grocery co-op), St. Honore (one of the best bakeries in Portland) and The Dragonfly Coffee House. Just 2 blocks to the Street Car for a short ride to The Pearl and The Farmers Market at PSU on Saturday or 23rd for shopping and restaurants and 21st for Pubs and night life.

Owner response:Thanks Scott!

When we first arrived the neighborhood took our breath away. This apartment could not be in a better location. It was simple to find, locate the key and let ourselves in. What a surprise inside! Gorgeous, roomy and spotless. There is nothing left to be desired here! Absolutely everything you need is provided from the entertainment setup to the kitchen. You need bring nothing but yourself and a comfortable pair of shoes because this neighborhood gets a score of 100 for walkability! They were very thoughtful in their attention to detail. All the info you will need to navigate the city is laid out for you. Amazing public transportation is a few steps away and Trader Joe's within walking distance. Not only will I reccommend this apartment to friends and family but we will be back again! Thank you Dan for a wonderful base to enjoy Bridgetown from! P.S...Do yourself a favor and don't miss out on The Mission Theatre... pints, food and a great film...brilliant!

Owner response:Good call on The Mission. Thanks for the review.

Great little townhouse in a fabulous location. I was a party of five individuals, and it was spacious enough to accommodate us all.. and it was close enough to all of the shops and restaurants on 23rd & 21st to really make it convenient. Five blocks from staples such as Paley's Place, and lots of cafes and bars nearby. It really was perfectly situated. It rained on our last night there, so we stayed in and roasted some s'mores by the wood-burning fire. The place is highly recommended!

Owner response:Thanks for the review! Best, Dan

This apartment was perfect for our needs. We were 3 adults and 2 children (4 and 5) and were very comfortable. There are some great neighborhoods within walking distance, and a nice playground for the kids two blocks away. Downtown Portland is an easy drive, or the street car stops close by. The apartment is clean, super convenient, and very nice accommodation. Everything had been thought of to make our stay easy and pleasant, we would definitely come again!

Owner response:Glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to having you back!

Some friends and I wanted to see the sights of Portland. I was handed the responsibility of finding a place that was in a good location that would accommodate the 5 of us. We all agreed... this home was perfect! It is close to the Pearl District and downtown. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. We were also able to hop on the street car if we didn't feel like walking. The condo had everything we needed! The i-pod with a large selection of tunes was a nice touch. We also built a fire in the fireplace which was cool. Clean comfortable beds with very nice linens! Dan (the owner) was very nice to deal with and made us feel at home. 5 stars! Best, Nate

Owner response:Thanks Nate!

Having the perverbial "home away from home" is something that all travelers hope for when they are away. Having stayed at Dan's 2BR apt in a prime location in the NW district gave us that sense upon entering...The lovely flat is well appointed, and everything is new....Attention to detail was not overlooked, and there wasn't anything we needed or desired that wasn't already in place...I would highly reccommend this lovely apt. to anyone seeking a comfortable and clean place to stay, with all the amenties that matter ....short, or long term....I would not hesitate to return. My personnel thanks to Dan for making our time there so pleasant....sincerley, Glenn Simplicio & Yvonne Glaze

Owner response:Thanks, Glenn it was a pleasure having you and Yvonne!
