"Island Elegance" and "Comfortable Living off the Carolina Coast" are the title and subtitle of a feature article in Veranda Magazine (spring 1987) about this home. The article describes the home as "Designed to blend gracefully with its natural setting, (the home) is surrounded by palmettos, pines and live oaks." and calls the design "...a post modern interpretation of a French colonial island design such as one might expect to see in, say, Martinique.". I've not been to Martinique but the home certainly was, and is, beautiful and unique in many ways.
A beautiful single family home located on the 4th hole of the Crooked Oaks golf course and a short drive or bike ride to the beach. It features a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need for cooking at home and counter seating, a large open dining and living area with plenty of room for the whole family. The kitchen, living/dining and master bedroom areas open to a full length deck with large double doors with screens offering great light and view of the golf course. The deck has a gas barbeque grill and plenty of seating to relax and enjoy the view. There are TV's (with cable) in all bedrooms, living/dining area and kitchen. Wi-Fi high speed internet is provided. Plenty of parking available. A private and comfortable setting for several couples or a large family.
Sleeping Accommodations: Master bedroom on main floor with king bed; 2 bedrooms upstairs - 1 with queen bed and the other with twin beds, each room has a large window seat usable for sleeping; a guest room with separate outside entrance is located off the kitchen with a king bed and trundle bed. It includes a mini refrigerator, microwave oven and coffee machine. All bedrooms, including the guest room, have private baths, TV and sitting/lounging areas.
Seabrook Island offers everything a beach vacationer is looking for: Beautiful private beaches for shelling, walking, or just relaxing. Nearby shopping, dining and many activities. And of course there is the nearby city of Charleston which has been consistently rated a top vacation destination. Visitors especially enjoy the equestrian center and Bohicket Marina as well as the beautiful beaches. The owners representative is on the island and is available to help you with all of your needs and concierge services.

I have stayed in this house on Seabrook Island on more than one occasion and have had nothing but fantastic experiences. I like that the house is in a quieter, wooded area a little ways away from the beach so that I can observe some of the natural wildlife that populates the island. The home itself is spacious and full of charm. My husband and I always make an effort to cook as many of our meals as possible ourselves when we stay there in order to take advantage not only of the local seafood but also the great kitchen amenties in this property. And the back veranda is gorgeous! I have also been very impressed with the new Property Owners Center that opened a few years ago (located just inside the entrance to the island). The staff there are friendly and the facilities are top-notch. I'm planning another trip to Seabrook in the the fall and I cannot wait to get back there! If you want a quiet, relaxing vacation in a beautiful beach setting I highly recommend this lovely Seabrook Island home.

This owner is NOT a club member which means if you rent it you can't use any of the nice pools, restaurants, golf, tennis, beachside bar etc.. So, why go here? I wish I had not. Seabrook is quiet and exclusive and there's nothing there without use of the club pool/bar and other facilities. We ended up leaving and moving up to Wild Dunes. The owner told me we could use the pools but not the golf course but in reality the only pool you can use is not the nice one by the beach. When I complained to the staff there they said this owner had done this before. The house itself was outdated and needed physical repair and cleaning (Veranda's article was written a long time ago!). If you need a house in Seabrook, go through an agency or make sure the owner is a club member. I obviously don't recommend this one!
Owner response:As this renter stated we are not club members. He was told this face-to-face as he also stated he was told that he could not golf. He was told that he could use the property owners pool, which all guests of property owners can use. While Seabrook is quiet, it is not all about going to the country club. The island is non-commercial, there are no public restaurants. The house and Seabrook are very family and pet friendly, with an updated kitchen that is perfect for entertaining and a large back deck overlooking the golf course, where friends and family can mingle and enjoy the outdoors. If your family is in need of the seen and be seen beach environment then Seabrook is probably not the place for you, but if you want a place without the crowds and the traffic then this is the place for you, your family and friends.

We had a wonderful Spring Break in Seabrooke Island, which started with our arrival to this home. The character of this property is what Seabrooke/Kiawah/Charleston is all about. It was very clean and well maintained with a huge back porch for relaxing, true chef's kitchen, and golf course view. There is plenty of space for multiple couples, with the bedrooms being spread out enough to give each their privacy. It is within biking distance to the beach and a short drive away to all that Charleston has to offer. Charleston was great and I recommend a carriage ride around the city with a stop at Hyman's Seafood for dinner. We also enjoyed a great experience at Bowen's Island Restaurant, which is a well kept secret. Overall, it was an unbelievably relaxing trip and we owe most of that to a great stay at this beautiful home.

We rented this home over spring break and found it to be really comfortable with lots of character. The back deck and outdoor living area was really exceptional. The property manager was local and available if needed. We rented a boat at the local marina and caught and ate redfish and found a very private beach to spend the day for the non fishermen. Rented bikes for a 10 minute ride to the beach. The house provided lots of privacy for our entire extended family(age 2-60) and the huge living/dining room was a great place for everyone to gather. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this home. The pictures on the site represent the home accurately.
