The kids will love Storyland, Santa's Village, Six-Gun City, and the Attitash mountain slide and waterslides. Or just take them to one of the dozens of great natural swimming holes along the Swift and Saco rivers. With an inner tube, one can travel all the way to North Conway! There is also boating and rafting, with guided trips just a short drive away.
If it's civilization you crave, a 20 minute drive will bring you to North Conway, with its' legendary shopping, spas and restaurants. And some of the most scenic golf you will find anywhere is right here, with championship courses to the north, south, east, and west.
And when the weather turns, skiers and snowboarders can take advantage of the most continuous vertical in the East at Wildcat Mountain, just 10 minutes away. Crowds? Forget it. Unlike most mountains in the East, Wildcat has no slopeside lodging. With acres of terrain and the fastest quad in the state, lift lines never get longer than 10 minutes. Factor in the reliable snow and great apres-ski at the mountain or in nearby Jackson, and you will agree... this is the very best of New England skiing.
Of course, if downhill skiing isn't your game, bring a snowmobile. Or snowshoes. Or cross country skis. The White Mountains are where the action is... come on and be a part of it.

About the owner: The White Mountain Chalet is jointly owned by several family members; we love to get all three generations of us together, and this place is perfect for family get togethers and/or to go away on vacation with another family or two.
Why the Owner Chose Gorham:
We bought here because it is the closest that one can come to the White Mountain National Forest. We are literally walking distance to hundreds of miles of hiking trails in the Presidential Range, and by car we are 5 mins from Mt. Washington, 10 mins from Wildcat Mountain, and 1/2 hour to North Conway (shopping) as well as Attitash Water Park and Storyland or Santa's Village.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
In Spring, summer and fall, hiking or enjoying NH's spectacular fall foliage is easy; some of the best trails are within a mile or so of the front door. In the winter Wildcat provides the most continuous vertical in the Eastern United States, with terrain for all skill levels. And we are minutes away from an amazing network of snowmobile trails that crisscrosses all of New England, extending well into Canada.
