We had three families stay at the Dolphin Manor, with kids ranging in ages from 1 to 7 (mine, my brother's and our parents) and it was spacious enough to accommodate us all! Kailua is quite and quaint. The beach right across from the house has nice, soft sand and the ocean was warm and beautiful. The house was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need and want. Plenty of sand toys for kids, boogie boards, beach chairs, etc. The owners were helpful and gave us tips about places to eat, hike and see. I would definitely recommend the house and we'd love to stay here again!

Our family stayed at Hibiscus Cottage in Feb of 2012. We have 2 children ages 7 & 10. We loved the location, just a quick walk to a beautiful beach that is perfect for kids. There were beach toys, boogie boards, towels and plenty of linens available as well as an outdoor shower. The washer and dryer were very convenient. We enjoyed grilling and eating outside, and the full kitchen let us eat in for most meals and save a lot of $. We will keep this property on the list for our next trip to east Oahu!

My family and I (9 adults) stayed at the Dolphin Manor in January 2012. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the quiet secure surroundings of the Dolphin Manor. We traveled extensively on the Island and it was always relaxing to come "home" to our home away from home. The well stocked kitchen and home was more than adequate for our family to be together but not crowded and stumbling all over each other. We ate out a lot but when we wanted to eat at "home" everything we needed to prepare a meal was available. We would recommend this property to anyone that wants a secure friendly atmosphere with all the amenties of home and a great beach at your front door. The property was as described in the advertising for the Dolphin Manor and the hosts could not have been any nicer

We wanted to thank the owners of Dolphin Manor for the excellent service and home they have. It was a great place to stay and my family had a wonderful time. The home is beautiful and a place to relax and enjoy Hawaii. Being away from the Honolulu was nice. It was peaceful and the beach that is located right across from the home was awesome as well. There is plenty to do in Kailua and we will definitely be back to stay with them again. My family thanks you again for allowing us to stay for a incredible 10 days.

Excellent location with lots of space. Very comfortable beds. Quiet setting even with a very busy street running by. Nearness to the beach was a wonderful asset. Very friendly and helpful owners. Lovely community and easy to get around in. Convenient to shopping and services. Polynesian Culture Center and North Shore are must sees. Would not hesitate to stay here again or refer to others.

The Dolphin Manor was a great place for the entire family for ages ranging from 9 to 69. We were able to save money by cooking all our meals at the house. We had personal family activities to attend plus we relaxed on the beach. It was great! The house was as described, clean and well maintained and was close to shopping as well as the beach.

We took my mother-in-law to Oahu for her 75th birthday, and stayed at the Plumeria Cottage. It was the perfect size for three adults and two kids, and the location was fabulous -- just a 2 minute walk to Kailua beach, and easy driving distance to Lanikai and other wonderful beaches, including Hanauma Bay. The cottage was very comfortable, and we enjoyed eating our breakfast out on the deck every morning. Highly recommend for a casual, family-oriented vacation!

This beautiful, spacious, clean vacation home offers everything a family (or travelling couples) may desire. The listing photos were accurate but could not begin to show the bright and excellent furnishings, the real Hawaiian ambiance that runs throughout both floors. From first arriving and seeing the Kailua Ocean Beach right in front of us, the unique and stunning dolphin gate, the large and inviting pool surrounded by palm and flowering trees (maintained at all times by owners), we knew we were going to have an exceptional few weeks in a "home away from home". Where should I begin? The ride there from the airport is so scenic and crossing the pali is a great way to be welcomed to Oahu. Residing in Kailua is SO MUCH better than anything in Waikiki for it not only gives you a peaceful environment, but you are closer to travel to most anything one would want to visit on the entire Island. (AND, if you need to visit in Waikiki or downtown it's a fun day excursion). The house itself has plenty of parking space, very comfortable couches, chairs, tables, AND mattresses...(flat screen TV's thruout)..all of the linens and towels are new and luxusrious ....especially the Master Bedroom and Bath, with a jacuzzi, wide screen TV, private balcony for morning coffee, separate studio to read in.....the A/C works perfectly (we had consistent 88 degree days!).....the Washer/Dryer on the 2nd floor was especially convenient. But our favorite touches were the paintings and pictures throughout the home that were of the smaller islands off-shore on our very beach. We rented two kayaks for the time we were there and our family got to know the surrounding islands well. One special note to those who like to cook....the kitchen is well stocked with very new appliances needed and the dishes, glasses and silverware etc. are not just stock "restaurant", but lovely crockery and one had the feeling that the owners trusted us to be careful with their good pieces. We ate together a lot and it was great to have beautiful bowls ETC. to feel elegant with. The owners couldn't have been more helpful with answering ANY questions or guiding us to the best places ( the famous BUZZ's Steak house is two blocks away for a quick nite out) We also ate at HaleEva Joe's in Kaneohe (recommended by owners) and found it to be among the best restaurants in Oahu. .We not only would recommend this rental to friends or family, but intend to return ourselves. MAHALO for The Dolphin Manor!!

Paradise was the Island of Oahu, the community of Kailau; multiplied by our accomodations at Dolphin Manor. It is all it is advertised to be. We were just a walk thru the park, to a beautiful local beach scene, we had a lovely house, well maintained pool, and plenty of guest ammenities, with easy to understand welcome guide and instructions. We felt at home, we highly recommend Dolphin Manor and we will be back.

I travelled with my 2 young grandsons and their parents. This was a perfect location and the home is lovely. Well stocked, even toys for the beach and pool. Everything is well maintained and it's spacious. The only request would be to have the grill cleaned between guests. This was just a great week

We have been visiting and renting homes in Kailua for over 15 years. This house was the best experience we have ever had! This year our family included a multi generational group of 9, ages 3 to 73. The location across from the beach park is a personal favorite of mine and easily accessible to all. We could easily spilt up, some could go hiking to Lani Kai by bike, others walk to the general store & others to the beach. The house was spacious & open. The pool was great for all ages. Everyone was so impressed with how comfortable all the beds were. If we need a house this big again, I hope it's available! Thanks so much for a great stay.

Our stay at Dolphin Manor exceeded our expectations! The location directly across from oceanfront Kailua Park was ideal and just a block away was the excellent Buzz's Steak House and local market. Just a bit further are several larger grocery stores, a book store, coffee and gift shops. The swimming pool at the house is lovely and well maintained and the kitchen was fantastic to cook in! Nice to have the two sets of washer/dryers and the a/c and fans worked out great. Would highly recommend to anyone seeking a beautiful house on Oahu!

Every aspect of our stay at Dolphin Manor was phenomenal. Starting with Steve and Susie Bryson. We had a few unique situations (such as a large family group) that they took in stride and accomodated our needs without blinking an eye! They were great hosts and only a phone call away. The property is beautiful, modern, very clean and well-maintained. We felt totally safe and secure. Hawaii is our most preferred travel destination, and we have been to all of the islands. But any future visits to Oahu will find us lodging in Kailua. Perfect beaches, water, locale, area attractions, and central to any direction you wish to go on the island. Away from the "busy-ness" of Honolulu. All of the info and photos given us about Dolphin Manor proved to be very accurate portrayals of reality. It is simply a great facility. If I were to try to find a fault with it, I would have to say that the water in the pool was uncomfortably cool. We were there over New Years, and between two very unseasonal weather fronts, leaving the pool a bit on the chilly side. In fact, it took a good dose of courage to get in it!!! Truly, we have ZERO COMPLAINTS! When the time comes to return to Oahu, we hope that Do;phin Manor is available, and that Steve and Susie are still running the show. Mahalo. . . We had a great time.

Our family of six recently stayed here for a week and really enjoyed our visit. The house was large enough for all of us, and the proximity to the beach was fantastic. What keeps us from giving the house five stars is that many little things need to replaced or repaired. For example, many of the window blinds are broken, the pillows are flat, the ceiling fan in the dining room makes a tremendous grinding noise, and the TV in the living room is on its last legs. But these are things that are easily overlooked when you can walk across to that beautiful beach every day.
Owner response:Thank you for the wonderful and honest review... we so appreciate our guest's input. Yesterday, Steve and I installed a "BRAND NEW 46" LED HDTV Flat Panel TV" in the living room, REPLACED the ceiling fan over the dining table, REPLACED all of the flat pillows, REPLACED the 2 broken blinds, as well as numerous other things that caught our eyes. We want "happy guests" and "return guests." We want you to have the most memorable vacation possible and will do anything we can to help.

Our family of nine, young and old alike, thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dolphin Manor. It was totally as described in the listing, pool was great, and a beautiful beach just a stroll away through a nice park. The location is ideal==not hard to get to any of the main attractions. The owners were more than accomodating and a pleasure to meet. We would definately stay again and would recommend this for anyone needing lots of space in a relaxed atmosphere.

We had a family reunion in Hawaii and decided to stay in Kailua. There were so many homes to choose from… needless to say, it was a very hard decision. Luckily, we found the perfect house for our stay. Dolphin Manor couldn’t have been in a better location. It was merely a one minute walk to the beach, safe for our kids, and close enough to town that we could either walk or drive. The house was spotless and the owners thought of everything from spices to shampoo, body wash and 2 washers and dryers. The pool was gorgeous. It was tiled and large enough to swim laps. We would definitely rent this home again when we return to Kailua.

My wife and our three children (3,5,8) stayed at the property in October and experienced eight days of pure heaven. The property was clean, organized, and the pool was great. The location of the property allowed us to walk to the beach and be there within minutes which made it possible to go to the beach everyday with the kids. The property owners did a fantastic job accomodating our families needs and allowed us to have a late checkout at no additional cost. I've already started to schedule next years trip and plan to stay at the Dolphin Manor.

We had a fabulous time at Dolphin Manor. The house is very roomy, and spotlessly clean. The beds are sooo comfortable and the location is perfect. The pictures do not do it justice. Our kids just loved the beach and pool. Would stay there again anytime.
