My fiance & I have stayed at both brownstone locations & we love them. The sunset loft is perfect, short walk to the beach, a few miles from the grocery store, & easy access to downtown. I really felt like I was at home while staying here. I telecommute for work & with the availability of secure wifi I was able to have a working vacation. The suite & the property are very well maintained. We purchased fish from the fisherman at Potters Cay & grilled in the courtyard. Janet will make sure that you have anything you need so don't hesitate to ask! I would absolutely recommend this property to my friends & family.

As an experienced travel, and one who travels alone most of time, I know what to look for. I was very impressed with how quickly the management contacted me when I needed an extra two nights stay in Nassau. The property was very clean, deco nice with soft warm colors . The area very safe which is very major to me, 5 min walk to the store and beach. I love the extras like the local phone, an option to rent a car if you need to. I was at first having a hard time decidng if i was going to stay at the resort, (won't say the name) on Paradise Island, or stay in an apartment. The resort lost internet and phone service almost every day I was there, I was concerned that mangement would not meet with me since I had not contacted them in the time I said I would. They were very kind and met me 5 hous after I was suppose to be there ( I had phone or internet service at my expensive resort). I immediately told my friend to take my bags out of the car. I did not have any problems with phone or internet and I am not paying the rediculous prices. It is affordable, and it has everyting it adverised. It feels very home like. There is a washer and dryer. This place is for singles traveling alone like myself or families. I am only booking my next trip back. This time I can afford to bring them!

We stayed in the Sunrise Suite for 8 days. The grounds are very well kept and clean, including the pool. The unit is very spacious for the dollar if you are looking for a home away from home. The only downside for us was the staircase going up stairs is very narrow with wide open slats and we have a 2 year old. Not too big of a deal, just always had to be aware of her playing on the stairs and we'd have to block it at night to assure she wouldn't attempt them. The caretaker Sophie was wonderful, she always made sure that we were taken care of. We enjoyed many nights barbequing on the provided grill and enjoying the pool and bar area. The beach wasn't too far of a walk and the bus is easy to catch. Nice and quiet neighborhood where you feel like you're on vacation and most of all, safe. My only suggestion would be the bathroom, the plastic shower curtain should have been replaced as well as the bathroom rugs. It could have used more shelving as with two women, we carry a lot of toiletries :-). I would definitely recommend to family and friends. We will be back!

My husband cousin and I stayed at the Brownstone and had the most wonderful and beautiful time while in the Bahamas. This was our second time staying there. First of all, I would like to say the Janet and her sons are very beautiful caring, loving people and professional in what they do and will do anything for your stay to be a memorable one. The area is in an upscale quiet, safe and lighted neighborhood with bus transportation to the beaches, hotels, downtown, straw market and the famous Fish Fry restaurants. The Units are very clean and beautifully decorated with modern furniture and colorful pictures on the walls along with artifacts from the Island. All of the amenities were like comfort from home. Each day I felt like I was in my own home. The property is landscaped with plenty of beautiful flowers along with your own private swimming pool, table, chairs, grill and bar with stools. I would recommend this property to anyone who want to have a quiet, peaceful, relaxing vacation. It is family friendly, romantic also. I will return again and again. Thanks Janet and sons for a most beautiful stay at the Brownstone.

Everything I had read was absolutely on the money. My expectations were high and I and my husband were pleased beyond compare. The service was stellar and the property elegant, modern, exceptionally clean and comfortable. Janet and her staff were very accomodating and helpful. We will be back and have recommended Brownstone to our friends. Anyone visiting Nassau should definitely consider this beautiful bit of heaven.

We stayed at the loft for our sisters trip to the Bahamas. The place was very homey, modern, clean, and worth its value! Janet was friendly and accomodating, answering questions about where to buy groceries, bus routes, and provided us with a car rental. At the same time, our privacy was well-respected. We felt absolutely safe staying there. Based on the information posted it was equal and even more than expected. Seriously consider this as an option for your trip to New Providence Island - you will not be disappointed!

Finally got myself together and wanted to thank VRBO and Janet of Brownston'e Sunset Loft for an UNBELIEVABLE experience. We had such great time and when it rained we tested our marbles on scrable. Her hospitality and along with her staff is amazing they were pure joy and I would never want to dissapoint them. We were able to secure the cottage for a short stay after flying in from freeport. It blew us away how beautiful the cottage and the experience was. The added bonus of renting the car through her made it even easier less worry about having to get to a place in time or travel and missing a flight. I wish everyone good luck in bookings with Janet. Take care and Stay Blessed. Thanks for Listening/Reading Love EB

We stayed in the Brownstone's Sunset Loft for a week this March. There were four of us girls and we felt safe and well looked after. Janet and her two young boys (absolute gentlemen) were very welcoming and catered to all our needs. The loft is a great little space and fit the four of us very well. The kitchen is well stocked and it was great cooking on fire as opposed to electric heat; the gas stove did take a bit of getting used to but we were happily making pancakes on it by the second day! There's an outdoor bar area that we used for when we BBQ'd and it's a great area for board games! The pool was cleaned bright & early everyday so we always had a fresh pool to enjoy. The loft had everything we could have needed for the beach; several large towels, beach chairs, umbrellas. We rented one of Janet's cars for a day and drove out to a gorgeous private beach about 25 minutes away for the morning and then explored downtown Nassau for the afternoon and ended up at the FishFry to try the local cuisine. For anyone who hasn't tried conch, it's like calamari but tougher. It's about a 7 minute walk to the main road (West Bay Road) and, once there, the jitney stop (local bus stop) on either side of the road is only a minute's walk away. We took the jitney frequently and found it very convenient to go to the resorts, the grocery store (City Market) or downtown; you can tell the driver to let you off pretty much anywhere. The locals were very accommodating to tourists; we felt very welcome. If you get a chance, go to the straw market (the jitney goes right to the market) to get some great deals on local handiwork and *cough* handbags. Over all a great trip. Staying in a home was so much better than coming back to a hotel room, I think I'm hooked :-)

We stayed with Janet this past October 2009 (10/18-10/21/09... sorry for the late comment) but we definitely wanted to put in a good word for Janet because she has a great place to stay. Janet has 2 cottages and we were originally supposed to rent the smaller one. Another guest wanted to extend his stay, so Janet automatically upgraded us to the larger and more expensive cottage for the same price. Both cottages were perfectly suited for us as a couple. We also rented Janet's car to get us around the island. It was a small car and ran great. Very economical for the 4 days we were there. It carried all our scuba gear (which was plenty) back and forth to Stuart Cove's on the opposite side of the island. We only had to fill the car up once at 1/2 tank for just $20. Driving on the left was a little weird at first, but we got the hang of it pretty quickly. Janet's place had a very spacious living area, dining area, huge walk-in closet (for all our scuba gear), beautifully decorated bathroom (like being in a fancy hotel), furnished kitchen with stove, oven, coffee maker, microwave, and full size refrigerator. We even used Janet's Bar-b-que one evening. We really couldn't ask for much more. The loft bedroom had 2 very comfortable queen size beds with very rich pillows and comforter (like you would see in some of the better hotels). Climbing up and down the spiral staircase to the loft was fun, but somewhat of a challenge in the middle of the night. As we are scuba divers, Janet's place was perfect for us. Great price, very convenient, pool to check out our gear, large pool deck to lay things out to dry, hose to rinse off gear, beautifully tiled floors so nothing to get overly wet... all in all we couldn't have asked for more. Thanks for hosting us Janet! --- Chris & Robyn

The browstone guest house was the perfect getaway for a girls trip for my mom and I. The guest house is super clean, very nicely decorated, and perfectly located. We were able to have the best of both worlds; the local scene and the tourist scene. The beach is within walking distance and the pool is just steps from the front door. Janet (the owner) is a remarkable person and was extremely hospitable! She was there to help us with anything we needed. I highly recommend the brownstone guest house for any stay in the Bahamas.

Dream Vacation - Dream House & Host We have spent 11 days at the Brownstone Guest house and we have enjoyed every minute of it. The place is new, spacious, very tastefully decorated and in the vicinity of all the main attarctions (Beach, Fish Fry local restaurants, Fortresses, Zoo, etc). The beach is basically in a walking distance (at most 5 minutes) though we had a rental car for our whole stay. It was much more convenient to discover the different parts of Nassau and Paradise Island by car as well. Ms. Janet (the host-ess) was very kind, professional and helpful in everything we have asked for. The pool was clean and well maintained and we had sightings of a hummingbird in the garden basically every day. We are a family of 3 with a 7 year old and he hardly wanted to return to DC. I recommend using this place along with the Swiss Pastry shop (just great) because you will not regret a single dime you will spend on your vacation. Time and money well spent. Thanks again.
