Location: Orient, Aroostook County, Maine, USA (Located 25 Miles East of Houlton, in NE Main)
Accommodations: Two Story Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 1.5 Baths (Sleeps 4-6)
This is a comfortable warm cozy two story house which has a full length panel of sliding glass windows just a few feet away from the edge of 25-mile long East Grand Lake and awesome views of this very scenic part of Northern Maine. It has a very comfortable user-friendly kitchen with stove, freezer, toaster, etc. The living room area is comfortable, bright and roomy.
The property has over 100' of shoreline and the area is best known for boating, swimming, kayaking and fishing. It is located just a few miles from the Canadian border and is a great starting point for day trips or overnight stays into Canada. There is a fairly well stocked convenience/gas station within a few miles of camp and, if you crave a proper restaurant, drugstore or supermarket, the city of Houlton is about a 25-mile drive.
Google Orient, ME. Turnout on Old Highway 1 (now called Old Schoolhouse Rd) turn onto Peters Cove Rd and proceed to the end, where you will pass a cemetery on your left, and now you are on Lakeview drive...proceed out to the end of the road.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2002
Dick met, fell in love and married a "down-easter" and is gradually learning what life is like in Maine. Dorinda came to California, where we met and later married, but just can't break her ties with Northern Maine so we are now considered "bi-coastal." Dorinda grew up in Houlton as a potato farmer's daughter and has had a lifelong love affair with country living so we have both a summer "camp" on East Grand Lake and second home in Blue Hill. We call this our "summer home" because we prefer to spend the winters in relatively warm Northern California.
Why the Owner Chose Orient
It is somewhat tradition that Mainer's like to have a second home, usually lakefront, for week-end or summer getaways. Dorinda's family has had their own lakefront "camp" for many years and Dick and Dorinda were quite fortunate to find and purchase this property in 2002.
The Unique Benefits of this Two Story Cabin
Just getting away from responsibility, schedules, work, etc. You are in a whole new world and its easy to leave all those problems behind when you are so close to nature and in such a beautiful environment.
