Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2001
Jan has been a successful artist for over thirty years, first in the silk screen medium, now as a painter. Her work is in collections around the globe. Jim is a writer and historian, with published works on Irish and German history. He is also the editor of a local journal of opinion, The Newburyport Liberator. We both find inspiration (and rest!) at our Pine Island property, an experience we hope you will share.
Why the Owner Chose Newburyport
Our main house is in Newburyport, minutes away, a busy city atmosphere. For thirty years we came out to beautiful Pine Island to exercise our various dogs, and we always walked by this property saying, "Boy, if this piece ever came on the market, what a perfect spot for a vacation house." It's funny how things work out! We built the place in 2001, and instead of having to drive 4 or 5 hours to New Hampshire or Maine for our second home, we drive 5 minutes instead.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Peace on Earth. That's what you get out on Pine Island.
