Paihia waterfront location makes this holiday beach house one of the best in the bay. It’s only a 5 minute flat walk to Paihia township and wharf which is the tourism hub of the Bay of Islands.
The beach is across the road.
Our beach house accommodation has two levels with the top level comprising open plan kitchen, dining, bathroom all leading on to a huge deck with pleasant views down to the waterfront. This level also has the perfect bar where tall tales and true can be discussed after a full day in the bay.
Downstairs there are four double bedrooms, master en-suite plus a lounge/sleeping area and another bathroom. Sleep 4 couples in the bedrooms and a couple of singles for kids in the lounge area.
Perfect for a large family or even two families.
There is off-street parking for cars and boats.
The big plus for this holiday home is that once ensconced you don’t have to drive anywhere – everything in Paihia is a few minutes level walk away!
In front of the house is Paihia’s best known seafood restaurant – Only Seafood – great location if you feel like dining out and don’t want to drive anywhere.

Year Purchased: 1983
Louise and I moved to the Bay of Islands over 25 years ago and still own the property. It's had many uses over the years but now comprises the holiday/vacation rental home, our own home and one of Paihia's best restaurants (which we used to run but don't now!!)
Why the Owner Chose Paihia
The Bay of Islands is the tourism Mecca for Northland only a 3 hour drive north of Auckland. No visit to New Zealand would be complete without visiting the Bay. Across the bay, by a short ferry ride, is Russell, New Zealand's first capital city - known in the 1800' s as the "hell hole of the pacific" with the whalers and the whore houses - long since gone!!
The Bay of Islands is the home of New Zealand big game fishing industry. If you're into golf some of the best golf courses in New Zealand are on our doorstep - the world famous Kauri Cliffs is only 30 minutes away. The local Waitangi Golf Cours is 5 minutes up the road - a wonderful course with great ocean views from most holes.
If history is your thing - the Bay of Islands was where New Zealand started - It was the signing place of the Treaty of Waitangi - our founding document for all peoples to be in partnership for the benefit of the future of the country.
Paihia is the centre of the tourism industry - you can cruise the Bay of Islands in large fast catamaran boats or charter a sailing boat.
There are many fine restaurants to satisfy all tastes.
Or if you just want to lie back and re-gharge your batteries - you couldn't come to a better place!
