We are located on the Greek Island of Ios - just next door to the legendary volcanic island of Santorini. We found this Greek island villa and its surrounding land about twelve years ago and decided that it was a piece of heaven - worthy of committing our future summers to and offering to others as a Greek villa rental.
Saponohoma Greek Island Villa is situated on its own beach and surrounded by 34 hectars (80 acres) of natural Cycladic Island beauty. Saponohoma is located on the southwestern, more populated side of the island, and is the next beach on the coastline to the south from Ios’ largest and most beautiful beach; named Milopotas. Saponohoma Greek Island Villa is located just 5km (3.5 miles) from Milopotas beach and the main village.

Our Greek Island Villa is designed in traditional Aegean style, and constructed in white stucco with white washed walls and exposed beam ceilings. The house is completely GREEN! - Not the color but the environmental philosophy! Constructed of natural materials - stone from the mountain, etc, Fully solar power and solar water heated - with natural spring water! It is furnished with both antiques and some modern pieces. There are beautiful sea views from the eating, lounging areas, verandas and bedrooms. The sandy Saponohoma beach is just 30 meters (100 feet) away.
Summers at Saponohoma Villa are all about living life. Things are simple at this Greek house rental – some necessitated by the fact that this villa was built 40 years ago by a Hippie who wanted to get away from it all – and did. He built it from surrounding natural materials and did a beautiful job. Since then the house has been a year-round home to an artist couple until only a few years ago.
We wake to the sunshine of the morning, take a swim in the bay then towel off as you head to breakfast on the veranda – and the smell of coffee, fresh Greek bread, yogurt, fruit, and local honey.
Then the serious stuff begins. Swimming, playing, reading and resting all day on the beach, with just enough time taken off for lunch.
There is also hiking, biking, snorkeling as well as day trips to other beautiful spots around Ios. As a Greek Holiday Villa, Saponohoma offers a very informal atmosphere yet with the amenities that you would want to make sure that you will feel at home immediately upon arrival. Because of its size, the number and sizes of bedrooms, the villa is especially well suited to hosting several couples or 1-2 families.
The large marble outside table that seats twelve overlooks the beach! - It is the social centerpiece of the house. Dinners are enjoyed overlooking the beach at night. With oil lanterns and candles spaced around the house, we enjoy an atmosphere that is practically magical.
And, just in case you need to re-enter the work world to get something done, we have a wireless high speed internet network available to you.

The Greek Holiday Villa sleeps up to thirteen people comfortably (though we recommend and price for 8 for rental weeks) and has a remote house for the hostess:

Yes, the pictures are gorgeous, but they don't do the house justice. We were flagberghasted at how amazing the house was. And Olga (the cook) was a total sweetheart. We spent the entire week imagining ways to come back.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children.

All is fantastic!!!!!!! The house is wonderful and the location is a paradise, far from averything and everyone!!!!! All was perfect and it's impossible to describe the location !!!!!!!!! The owner is very very nice (We know him only by mail) and the housekipper is perfect!!!!!! We were 2 families and the palce is perfect for families, group of friends!!!!! if you want live with nature, silent, nad specatacular natural place, go to SAPONOHOMA villa!!!!! It's a real paradise!!!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We stayed in this piece of paradise in July 2012 with our family of seven and a girlfriend from Australia. It really is the Greek island holiday-home setting you dream about. The decor of the house is simple yet elegant. We spent so many happy memorable meals out on the verandah watching the sunset and talking well into the night. Olga was so helpful and made my life happy by preparing wonderful breakfasts and cleaning the house every day. It was very hot when we were there so the fans were a welcome relief. On a warm late summer’s evening, bathed in golden sunshine and cooled by a light breeze, we arrived by ferry from Santorini. Striking was how pretty and unspoilt the island is – neither overcrowded nor high rise buildings, -a picture perfect Greek island. We were met by the charming Olga who took us to a small supermarket and then to pick up our open top jeep. ‘Follow us’… with great excitement off we headed for Ios Beach Villa. We drove up the winding road past the lovely domed church in the square of Ios town and then along the beautiful Myloptomas beach- where were all the drunken marauding teenagers we has read about? Past the beach Olga stopped in front and said: “you’ll need to put the jeep in 4 wheel drive now”. Off we went up into the hills, with the setting sun behind us, past goats, huge sculptured weathered stones, through a patchwork of old dry stone walls with little knarled and bent olive trees from another era. After 10 minutes we turned off to the right and far below us there it stood - the magical, the beautiful, the serene Ios Villa. Sitting like a giant pearl in its own secluded cove, bathed in the glow of the evening sun and surrounded by a shimmering blue sea “Whow-Whow-Whow” we had arrived. The first thing I had to do was rush out onto the front terrace to look at the spectacular view. There was the little cove, with golden sand and a gentle line of rolling surf, the endless sparkling Aegean sea, and the setting sun dropping behind the neighboring island of Sikinos. I wont go on …it’s as the website says and more. I’ve been lucky to travel a fair amount in my time and this is one of the most magical, unspoilt and beautiful places on this earth. We felt enormously privileged to have had the good fortune to stay here-thank you Jenny and Michael for renting your beautiful home. It’s funny what it does for you- at the time I had that wonderful feeling of wanting for nothing and afterwards when we returned to England I just could not stop thinking about it, not just for a few days or weeks but I’m still thinking about it-7 months on. I think it was Ernest Hemmingway who said everyone should stay once in the Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong- I have, but no grand 5 star hotel will ever give what this place will.
