Greek Island Villa - Welcome to Saponohoma Beach !
We are located on the Greek Island of Ios - just next door to the legendary volcanic island of Santorini. We found this Greek island villa and its surrounding land about twelve years ago and decided that it was a piece of heaven - worthy of committing our future summers to and offering to others as a Greek villa rental.
Saponohoma Greek Island Villa is situated on its own beach and surrounded by 34 hectars (80 acres) of natural Cycladic Island beauty. Saponohoma is located on the southwestern, more populated side of the island, and is the next beach on the coastline to the south from Ios’ largest and most beautiful beach; named Milopotas. Saponohoma Greek Island Villa is located just 5km (3.5 miles) from Milopotas beach and the main village.

Our Greek Island Villa is designed in traditional Aegean style, and constructed in white stucco with white washed walls and exposed beam ceilings. The house is completely GREEN! - Not the color but the environmental philosophy! Constructed of natural materials - stone from the mountain, etc, Fully solar power and solar water heated - with natural spring water! It is furnished with both antiques and some modern pieces. There are beautiful sea views from the eating, lounging areas, verandas and bedrooms. The sandy Saponohoma beach is just 30 meters (100 feet) away.
Summers at Saponohoma Villa are all about living life. Things are simple at this Greek house rental – some necessitated by the fact that this villa was built 40 years ago by a Hippie who wanted to get away from it all – and did. He built it from surrounding natural materials and did a beautiful job. Since then the house has been a year-round home to an artist couple until only a few years ago.
We wake to the sunshine of the morning, take a swim in the bay then towel off as you head to breakfast on the veranda – and the smell of coffee, fresh Greek bread, yogurt, fruit, and local honey.
Then the serious stuff begins. Swimming, playing, reading and resting all day on the beach, with just enough time taken off for lunch.
There is also hiking, biking, snorkeling as well as day trips to other beautiful spots around Ios. As a Greek Holiday Villa, Saponohoma offers a very informal atmosphere yet with the amenities that you would want to make sure that you will feel at home immediately upon arrival. Because of its size, the number and sizes of bedrooms, the villa is especially well suited to hosting several couples or 1-2 families.
The large marble outside table that seats twelve overlooks the beach! - It is the social centerpiece of the house. Dinners are enjoyed overlooking the beach at night. With oil lanterns and candles spaced around the house, we enjoy an atmosphere that is practically magical.
And, just in case you need to re-enter the work world to get something done, we have a wireless high speed internet network available to you.

The Greek Holiday Villa sleeps up to ten people comfortably (though we recommend 8 for rental weeks) and has a remote house for the hostess:
