Betty's Beach Bungalow is a charming luxury beach bungalow-style house with three separate apartments each with their own tropical colored front and back doors. Discover all the different moods the ocean has to offer! Enjoy an early morning cup of coffee watching the bright orange sunrise over the ocean. Whether is is golf, grilling fresh fish in the backyard, a tropical cocktail at the Tiki Bar or a two hour ($80) massage close by, this is seriously the perfect location! Each apartment has beach chairs and plenty of beach towels. I provide a high-end beach umbrella for when you want to spend the entire day by the ocean, reading and drifting to sleep listening to the waves. Sounds great doesn't it?
Betty's Beach Bungalow is located on a quiet little street right off Ocean Drive (A1A), at the end of "Millionarie's Row". Across the street is a very large private-style beach we call "Lighthouse Beach", one of the most beautiful beaches in all South Florida. Not only because it is a wide-style beach, without any traffic, or because of the view of the Lighthouse, but because you are literally "entertained" on our beach by one of the best para boarding schools. People come from all over the world to learn this growing sport. So as you are dozing off to sleep you'll see many colorful kite-chutes and their paraboarders flying high in the air.
At Betty's Beach Bungalow you'll find the luxury you want. High thread count sheets, plush towels, choice of pillows, lovely soaps, a high end toaster oven (I don't know about you but this is important to me!) KitchenAid cookware and gadgets, glass top stove, quality glass stemware and a blender. Enjoy breakfast outside on the screened in patio or an evening stroll tracing the waves as you walk.
There are also some unique things you can do at Betty's Beach Bungalow. Like on a hot summer day, after a beach visit, shower outside, and fall asleep rocking in the hammock. It's doing unusual things that give us "forever memories". So when was the last time you were this relaxed?
This is a perfect location... take a drive up Millionaire's Row to the Pier in Deerfield Beach or run down to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea for homemade ice cream.
Shopping and strolling is plentiful. Spend an evening on Las Olas Boulevard, or at the very lovely Galleria. Whole Foods Market is 20 minutes away, Pompano Beach Golf Course right across the bridge and the hammock is right in your backyard!
Right across the 14th Street Bridge is the new Pompano Beach Mall with Macy's, Ross, Sears and more.
A NEW DOG PARK is just inside the entrance to the golf course,
right across the bridge.
Cort's Massage offers hour massages by expert therapists for $40/hour! I have been going there for fifteen years. Ask for "Mykola" a med student who specializes in deep tissue massage.
My absolute FAVORITE ESCAPE is The Sea Watch, a beautiful old wooden restaurant right ON the beach with an unbeatable PANORAMIC view of the ocean! It's just a couple minutes drive down the beach and is now offering a wonderful early bird lobster dinner. Have lunch outside overlooking the ocean. This is a really special place!

- Linens Provided : We provide luxury linens! Thick mattress pads and beautiful spreads which are always fresh between guests! Choose from a variety of new pillows. We do an "every surface sanitation" between guests. I know the level of comfort and cleanliness I demand when I travel, so I provide the same for my guests.
- Washer : Laundry room is a nice clean room in the bungalow with an unlimited supply of small white cleaning towels that you can use for your pet, your car, scuba equipment, etc.
- Dryer : Amazing dryer! One cycle does four large towels.

- Deck/Patio : The "Tropical Backyard" is an absolutely charming yard with lots of flowers, tropical plants and a large table with umbrella and four chairs for talking, meals, playing cards, writing letters, or working on your laptop. A fun thing to do is walk on the beach, come back and take an outdoor shower and then fall asleep in the hammock! There is a 15 foot cement wall in the back and wood fences which means GREAT privacy. The fishing boats are practically within walking distance. Grill your fresh fish in the tropical backyard. The Beach Bungalow has three separate apartments and they all share the tropical backyard, however you will more than likely find it available for your use whenever you want it. Except for rare circumstances, it is a very quiet place to relax, sunbathe and enjoy the Florida weather! My motto is "get wet!" Feels great.

- Beach View : "Walk-On-The-Beach" is a block from the beach on a small quiet side street. You cannot actually see the ocean from the apartments, but it IS less than five minutes walking from your front door until your feet are in the ocean!

- WiFi (Wireless Internet) : Enjoy our free internet service. Always a strong excellent connection. Enjoy working in the tropical backyard!
- Other Amenities
- My guests are surprised how much they love the outdoor shower! Nap in the hammock in the tropical backyard (which has a "pull" rope so you don't have to put your foot on the ground to keep swinging! A high-end beach umbrella is provided as well as beach chairs and lovely beach towels.Cleaning service if you should desire it. At my other vacation rental property, there is a lovely heated swimming pool which is almost always available for my guest's use.
- Suitability
- Pet Friendly : We are so clean and sanitized that you would never know a pet has ever been inside the apartments. ANY SIZE approved pet with current license and vaccinations. We only charge $5 per day additional so your pet can be with you, instead of a kennel. You will be asked if your dog is treated with Frontline for ticks and Advantage for fleas. If not, we can provide it for you. I know what I want when I travel and try to accommodate my guests the same way. While Lighthouse Beach is not an "official" dog beach, my guests report never having a problem running their dogs on the beach. You will find dog shampoo, dog towels, dog bowls, dog beds and organic dog treats!
- Minimum Age Limit for Renters : I have rented to 18 year olds who are more mature than many adults I know.
- Smoking Allowed : ONLY outside if it does not bother other guests. We rarely have smoking guests and take this consideration very seriously!
- Smoking Not Allowed : Seriously NO SMOKING indoors. There is a $500 fine for smoking indoors. Guests are asked to smoke only in the back as long as no other guests are around. We rarely have smoking guests.

Close by at my other vacation rental property is a heated swimming pool that is often available for your enjoyment. NOTE: Our calendar does not show FULL until all three apartments are booked. We have two one bedroom apartments and an efficiency at Walk-on-the-Beach. These lovely beach bungalow apartments can be booked separately or together. We offer the efficiency at a cut rate price when you book one of the other apartments. This is perfect for grown children or in-laws as they have their own kitchen and bath providing you with more privacy. There is a dog park VERY close by!

Hello! I'm Betty. When I saw this charming beach location, I knew exactly what I wanted to do! My goal was to turn it into something completely different and more upscale from any other vacation rental in the area! It became outrageous fun turning it into the very special place that it is now. I like to pay attention to detail and you'll often see me often planting flowers, polishing windows and being the perfectionist I am. My husband owns a golf course, we have no children, so I love making beds and having my guests ooo and ahhh when they walk in. With a degree in fine art I've been a graphic designer all my life. Now I get to transfer my creative skills into something people will really enjoy. I was thrilled when Walk-On-The-Beach was selected as a "treasure" for the travel book "Treasures of Florida". I have "Walk-on-the-Beach Vacation Rentals" in both Pompano-by-the-Sea and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and all are unique. Most importantly, I want to treat my guests the way I want to be treated on vacation! It is my goal that your stay at Betty's Beach Bungalow becomes a "forever memory" that will last a lifetime.

I cannot even find the words to describe my stay at Walk on the Beach. We found this oasis through a friend who referred us to Betty the owner, now a dear friend. Betty was on-site when we arrived, working hard on her beautiful property. You feel like you have entered shangri-la. Just a peaceful beautiful place which you can tell every detail was cared for with love. For me it brought a much needed healing as I had recently lost my beloved mother to cancer. It was a retreat that brought calm and peace. All my stress ,melted away upon entering Walk on the Beach. Betty is a wealth if information for all the special little hidden places to go like The Galley and quaint waterfront restaurant for Breakfast and Sea Watch which looks out on the ocean for lunch. (I personally loved staying in the guest house as it was so quaint and comforting. We stayed in the 1 bedroom and I never wanted to leave the room. SO CLEAN AND SUCH ATTENTION TO DETAIL!! We will be keeping Betty busier then she's ever been as we hesitantly are sharing our new little home away from home with our friends. (We want to make sure she's not so booked out that we get shut out of our tropical haven ) :) We love Betty, Walk on the Beach and the many years to come that we will be revisiting our new special place. We stayed at Betty's Beach Bungalow this September and loved every minute of it! Betty is so friendly and sweet, and has put so much into decorating and manicuring her property down to every last detail. Everything was exceptionally clean, and in great condition. We loved knowing that all of the bedding, including the bedspread was freshly cleaned just for us. Betty had bath soap and hairdryer in the bathroom, and cleaning supplies in the kitchen. The property all around is full of beautiful plants. The inside is beautifully decorated with a cute, yet classy beach theme. There are plenty of pillows and towels, and the air conditioners worked great! The beach is a 5 minute walk, and it is quiet and nice. There is a grocery store and restaurants, and everything you would need just a few minutes drive away. We wondered about the TV because we love to watch movies at night and there was a football game we wanted to watch. The TV was a good size-- big enough to enjoy our movies and game! We felt very comfortable and safe at Betty's place, and wished we could have been there longer! This is a great place for a romantic getaway, or just a place to get away from a busy life. What an amazing time we had here at "Walk on the Beach"! If your undecided on where to stay, don't waste anymore time! Betty is a gem, and the accomodations only get better!..The cottage is perfectly clean and cozy with all the comforts of home (some even better!)... We truly enjoyed exploring Pompano beach, and visiting nearby, Deerfield beach, then coming back to the cottage to relax in the peaceful garden....I have stayed at many VRBO rentals, and this is the most accurate to it's description, and the best. You won't be disappointed.

We rented the one-bedroom Walk-on-the-Beach apartment. The apartment is small, but was very comfortable for the two of us and our 20 lb. Terrier. Betty is a lovely person and can not do enough for you and keeps the apartment very nicely decorated and extremely clear. She even does a vary good job on the outside grounds. There are plenty of bathroom towels and kitchen utensils and other items. The area is very quite and the beach is only a few blocks from the house. There are many restaurants and stores with a short driving distances. We had a really good time and look forward to coming back.

We could not have been happier finding this absolutely charming spot! What a great vacation we had! Everything you could possibly want is provided and is exceptional quality. This was absolutely hands down the cleanest vacation rental we have ever rented. The backyard was SUCH a pleasant experience with the twinkle lights in the trees and every time I turned around I discovered another special touch that made me feel important as a guest. We were originally concerned about not being directly on the beach, but found that the very short walk enriched the experience and it actually turned out to be an advantage. What a georgeous georgeous beach! We really liked being able to park right in front. Thank you Betty for all you do to make this such a charming escape for your guests. My husband has already said we will return next year. "

Walk-on-the-Beach, what a sweet get-away! True to the reviews, my husband and I were pleasantly surprised to see how VERY CLEAN and quaint our unit was. Betty is so meticulous in her cleaning and that's important to us as guests so that we can be relaxed and comfortable during our stay. The beach was a very short walk away (just across and down the street), and we were supplied with beach towels, chairs, and even an umbrella that we really needed. I have to say that one of my favorite indulgences upon returning from the beach was relaxing in the back yard patio surrounded by a little tropical paradise and sipping wine. The bottom line is that Betty puts a lot of love and care in maintaining her property and it shows. But above all, she is a sweet and loving person who cares for and takes an interest in her guests. We made a new friend on this trip and we would definitely recommend this place to a friend!

We had a great stay at Walk on the Beach. For us, the unit was the best of both worlds; a short walk to the beach and a short walk to the intercoastal. The unit was cozy, comfortable and beautifully furnished and all of the special touches Betty provided really added to the experience. The back yard has a tropical and relaxing atmosphere and I even used a cutting from the aloe plant to soothe my sunburn! It was our first time to Pompano Beach and we loved it. Betty is a charming hostess and makes you feel right at home. We will definitely be returning next year!

This vacation rental was soo much nicer than I anticipated. Nice, quiet, friendly neighborhood. This cottage was the perfect size for myself, husband and our large dog. I especially loved the front porch for reading, a little vino and a quick nap (for me and my pooch) in the fresh ocean air. Everything was immaculately clean, plenty of bathroom towels, beach towels & kitchen items. I was especially happy that there were beach chairs and umbrellas for the using. Very close to the beach and plenty of restaurants. I was especially comforted that Betty allowed me to bring my dog. I must say he totally enjoyed himself especially when we took him for a swim in the ocean. thanks Betty
