  I cannot even find the words to describe my stay at Walk on the Beach. We found this oasis through a friend who referred us to Betty the owner, now a dear friend. Betty was on-site when we arrived, working hard on her beautiful property. You feel like you have entered shangri-la. Just a peaceful beautiful place which you can tell every detail was cared for with love. For me it brought a much needed healing as I had recently lost my beloved mother to cancer. It was a retreat that brought calm and peace. All my stress ,melted away upon entering Walk on the Beach. Betty is a wealth if information for all the special little hidden places to go like The Galley and quaint waterfront restaurant for Breakfast and Sea Watch which looks out on the ocean for lunch. (I personally loved staying in the guest house as it was so quaint and comforting. We stayed in the 1 bedroom and I never wanted to leave the room. SO CLEAN AND SUCH ATTENTION TO DETAIL!! We will be keeping Betty busier then she's ever been as we hesitantly are sharing our new little home away from home with our friends. (We want to make sure she's not so booked out that we get shut out of our tropical haven ) :) We love Betty, Walk on the Beach and the many years to come that we will be revisiting our new special place. Thank you Betty for pouring your heart in to giving us such a special place to heal, laugh. have fun and be at peace! Love Sherry and Elvis.

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

  Owner response: Thank you to Sherry and Elvis who pulled me out of the hot sun and Tropical backyard to SeaWatch for blackened grouper. The outside shower certainly came in handy! Even as a resident I still find it pretty cool to be able to walk into a restaurant with wet hair and sit outside. How fortunate to meet such precious people as Sherry and Elvis! Indeed we have not stopped talking since they were here! Elvis is a wealth of advanced internet operation intelligence and Sherry, well, I simply can't wait to see her again! Special people indeed.

  Betty's Boutique Beach Bungalow was the perfect place to stay for a long weekend get-a-way! The cottage was so inviting and immaculate...Betty is not kidding about its cleanliness! With the exception of the grocery store and the beach, we never left the property! Betty's attention to detail is second to none, and we loved every accent in the cottage. The tropical oasis in the backyard provided calmness and serenity from our daily work routines. Let's just say it didn't take much time to relax! The beach was beautiful and not filled with tourists, which made us feel like we were really on vacation. Betty provided our towels and a even a rolling cooler to make our 4 minute walk even easier. The days were beautiful, but the rains moved in late afternoon, so we were lucky that Betty had the cottage kitchen fully loaded with everything we needed for cooking and shaking up a few drinks for happy hour! While heavy rains were pouring down, we were nice and cozy on the screened porch, where we sat for hours chatting and playing games. Betty checked in on us often, making sure we had everything we needed, and was ALWAYS available for questions. While we did not get to meet her, we hope we can enjoy her company during our next visit. For a peaceful and little slice of Florida heaven, you need to stay here! We will be back!

  This was our second year. We were in a different unit this year. All three rentals are amazing. Betty herself is amazing - unobtrusive and thoughtful. Each place is tastefully and completely decorated. She buys only high-end stuff and everything is as clean as can be. There is a luscious sanctuary out back, beautifully landscaped, with comfortable chairs and the best hammock, and it's quiet and peaceful. We never heard a cell phone or car horn. Betty, who resides in Ft. Lauderdale, comes by to clean the units as people check in and out. It's good to catch up with her because she will fill you in on the nicest restaurants and shops if you ask her.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

  Owner response: Oh did we have fun! This fantastic couple who are serious beach addicts, announced "party!" one night and had everyone in the backyard laughing and drinking frozen pink cocktails. I hated to see them leave!

• Great Place!!!

  We stayed in the efficiency for 5 days. It was very neat, clean, and organized. It is a short walk to the beach and the back yard is a great place to relax. Betty is an awesome Christian woman and we enjoyed spending some time with her. The other neat thing was the other tenants that were there during our stay, they were welcoming and fun to be around. I plan on coming back some day.

  Owner response: I love my guests! As I receive this review, I am on vacation myself and experiencing what it is like to be a guest. I overheard the ski resort cleaning gal say... if it smells clean it is clean ....and they spray Lysol all over everything... argh!!!! I just about died. I am a nook and cranny person myself! If it IS clean... it is clean. And apart from having "places" to put things to feel organized, true cleanliness really is most important. Thank you for the nice review!

  Amazing, immaculate, and comfortable are just a few words to describe this vacation spot...My husband and I arrived at the Betty's Boutique Beach Bungalow on February 7, and checked out on February 13, 2013. From the moment we opened the door we were in love with this place... It was beyond immaculate not a speck of dust to be found anywhere. Betty was the best very warm and friendly. The tropical yard was fabulous, we enjoyed our afternoon glass of wine and cheese out there, as well as socializing with the renters in the other unit.. The unit had everything you needed in it.It truly deserves even more than a 5 star rating...Don't think twice about booking this amazing spot....My husband and I are still dreaming about it and wish we were still there,,, Thanks for everything Betty can't wait to come back...

  Looking for a beach getaway we came across Betty’s Beach Bungalow. It promised comfort, relaxation, beach and amenities. Well...I am so glad we chose Betty’s place. She delivered on all counts. My husband and I had been burning the candle at both ends and needed a holiday where we could relax. The drive from the airport was easy, thanks to Betty’s directions and she was waiting for us when we arrived. The moment I walked into the coral apartment I felt all my stress melting away. It was very clean, charming, cozy and surrounded by lush vegetation...it was a little paradise. We would walk along the beach every morning and after our walk, relax on the beach for most of the day. Betty provided chairs, umbrella, towels and cooler. We did not need more than that. We used the kitchen a lot for our meals. We did go to the Sea Watch, which was good. The Seaside Grill was mediocre. We discovered Anthony’s Coal Fired pizza...which was excellent. We had intentions of golfing but we were just to darned relaxed to muster up enough energy to do that. The golf course did look great though. We spent a fun day at Fort Lauderdale beach. The week flew by and we were not ready to go home to the snow and cold weather. We hope to visit Betty’s Beach Bungalow again soon....thank you Betty for sharing your place with us. Mirella and Jim Marshall Canada

  Owner response: I know how it feels to be overworked and stressed and to really NEED a place to not only recover but REJUVENATE... and that is what being at the ocean and walking the beach is all about! All your cares fly away when you feel the sunshine and listen to the gentle "whoosh" of the waves as they break on the beach sand. This particular guest is a particularly strong professional business woman and it perfectly thrilled me that she was able to feel at home and totally relax here. This is what it is all about for me!

  Rarely have I encountered a property owner as personable, accommodating, and attentive as Betty. She promised that we would love our stay at her beach bungalow, and we certainly did! The “Red Coral” apartment, with its spacious screened porch, was just perfect for my husband and me. Cozy, comfortable, very well-appointed, and beautifully decorated, we felt at home immediately upon our arrival. The property is immaculate, inside and out, and it is situated on a quiet street just a short walk to the beach. Shopping, movies, restaurants, and golf courses are just minutes from the bungalow. Check out Sunshine Bagel for breakfast and SeaWatch on the Ocean for fine dining and great views. In downtown Pompano Beach, there is a lovely beachfront park with a paved walking path, playground, restrooms, and fishing pier. Adjacent to the park, we found pizza, sandwich, ice cream, and beach shops. I highly recommend Betty’s Beach Bungalow. We had the most wonderful, relaxing week at this charming, well-located “home away from home” and can’t wait to return!

  I planned to go to Florida for a few days and had been checking out the hotels and the reviews in the Fort Lauderdale area. Not being familiar with the area, the reviews I was seeing for the hotels did not sound appealing to me. A co-worker recommended that I visit the site, www.vrbo.com, to see if there was something that would meet my needs. This is how I stumbled upon this cute little bungalow with all the amenities you could ask for. I was very pleased, actually more than pleased, that I decided to take this route versus staying in a hotel. Staying at Betty's Boutique Beach Bungalow was as if I were staying in my own home. There is nothing that she did not have. This place is perfect for a couple or a few girlfriends. It was perfect for me and my friend, who came to stay with me while I was visiting the area. It had a complete kitchen, a one-bedroom with full bath, a living area and an extra pull-down bed. In addition, the property had a nice area in the back of the house to sit outside if you wanted to. Betty, the homeowner, was there the entire weekend staying in one of the other apartments. She was very helpful in providing places to see and eat. We did take her advice and ate at the Sea Watch. It was delicious. She was accommodating for an early arrival and a late checkout, allowing just a little bit more time to relax. We were able to enjoy the beach, which was just a walk across the street. You can definitely tell someone cares about this place. From the decorating to the personal touches, you can't go wrong staying here. If I ever happen to visit the area again, I'll be sure to look into staying at Betty's Boutiue Beach Bungalow again!

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

• Quiet and convenient

  My husband and I stayed 2 nights and it was a very nice 1 BR with all conveniences and a big screened in porch to sit and relax in. The weather was perfect on day 1 and we enjoyed the evening breezes on the porch. There is plenty to do all around the area and we found a great Thai restaurant to top off the trip.King bed was cozy and firm and everything was new and updated. Thank you Betty for a beautiful space!

  I was traveling to the area for a training in Coral Springs and decided to to skip the "hotel" life and stay at Bettys Beach Bungalow. I made the right decison. It's not like a bed and breakfast where you feel like your in someones home. It's like your OWN little home with a beautifully landscaped backyard. The place was immaculate, had high-end touches and every convenience you could possibly need. No hotel can say that! The location is perfect, the beach is right across the street and Betty provides beach towels and chairs. By car Lauderdale by the sea is a 5 minute drive and Beach Place in Ft Lauderdale 10 minutes. I worked out at pompano fitness for $15 which was a 2 minute drive in the Citi Center Mall. Be sure to eat at the Seawatch, Houstons and Coconuts! Thanks again Betty!!

Last May I traveled throughout France and learned first hand how much it means to be able to trust a vacation rental owner. From describing the property properly to offering a glass of wine upon arrival, I feel an owner can contribute much to a guest's "forever memories".

The Purple Seashell efficiency accommodates larger group and available at lower rate! Calendar shows full only when no availability. Guests welcome to use HEATED SWIMMING POOL on Intracoastal Waterway at my other vacation rental. Wireless internet / parking included. Request confirmation agreement for cancellation/shortened stay policy. Proud to be a mold free, bug free, licensed and honest VR!

Visa. MasterCard. Discover. American Express. Cash. Check. Money order. Reservations confirmed with receipt of 50% of the total rental charge. Payment in full is due 60 days in advance for seasonal/holiday guests. A credit card number on file is sufficient for the "inventory-damage" deposit and we have never had to charge a guest. Request a copy of our confirmation agreement for details.

Additional Fees and Taxes:

NO CLEANING FEE!

5% County tax

6% State tax

We ask our guests to simply leave the kitchen as they found it. An excessive cleaning fee would only be charged if the apartment were left in an absolutely filthy condition.. and in six years I've never had to charge a cleaning fee!
