We have been renting this home for the past three years and are scheduled again for next year. The accommodations are excellent with the 5 bedrooms and 4 baths it is the perfect fit for our group. It is accessible to all the attractions of Myrtle Beach and yet located in a quite location only a block from the beach. There are new amenities each year which adds to the expectation that each of us has as we look forward to the next year. The owner keep the place in excellent condition form the grounds to the inside. Great person to rent from.

Spring in the South

We vacationed the week of April 21st to the 28th 2012 and had a great time. The house is super clean and tastefully decorated with a tropical theme. We went on a few power walks to compare rentals in the area and this home proved to be a quality vacation home............close to the beach , a great in ground clean pool well maintained and updated and at a fantastic rate. lf you like to shop, golf, sunbathe, swim, explore wonderful Southern towns, gardens and eat seafood, Mexican , ltalian........ this makes for a great place to wake up to in the morning. Will be back for a 3rd time in 2013!

Excellant Stay in Emerald Bay II in Surfside

The owner's attention to detail made the transaction flawless for our Spring vacation and his price was very reasonable. The house was exactly as described, very clean and orderly. It was spacious with enough room for everyone in our families. The half a block walk to the beach access (no cars just walkers and golf carts) was nice and the beach was not crowded. We did not use the pool as it was before season but it looks like a Great addition for later in the spring/summer. The decks with chairs and couches made the late afternoon and evening relaxing. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. We definitely plan another outing next year to the Emerald Bay!

Great Place, we were fortunate enough to have all our kids, grandkids and my mom all together that week that we stayed. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. The house had everything that we needed to cook, with a well supplied kitchen. We had great weather and this was an excellent time to go, not to hot but warm enough to go to the beach everyday. The house was very clean and comfortable and close to the beach. We have our week scheduled for next year. Thanks Joe.

We had a family reunion at this home and had a great time. We were there late September. This is a very good time for families with small pre school children to enjoy all there is to do and the weather is very nice late spring and early summer there too. The home was very clean and had everything we needed. We look forward to returning to Surfside and to this home in the future.

This was our first stay in a beach house. Emerald Bay II was everything we wanted and more. The house was beautiful, comfortable and clean. We had an exceptional time and all agreed we would gladly stay here again. Thank you Joe for a wonderful family vacation.

This house was perfect.It was clean, comfortable and just a short walk to beach.We hung out at the house instead of going out every night. The kitchen was very well stocked for family meals.Joe was great to work with and very quick to respond to any question.We enjoy to stay in Surfside where beaches are not crowded and traffic not busy. Hope to return to this house again next year.

We rented at the last minute, and Joe was on top of it. He was easily accessible and quick to respond (this included a minor issue with the house – which seemed to be dealt with before I hung up the phone). The house has all the necessities and was nicely furnished. It is so close to the beach. It was worth every penny and I can’t wait to go back!!

Great house! My husband, kids and I shared this with my brother and his family for a week and it was the best deal we've ever had in Surfside. We love the beaches and have so much fun at the pier, both hanging out and fishing. Great weather and the beach is never crowded and has a nice family atmosphere. The house was well supplied with kitchen items and the bedrooms were all good sizes for what we needed. The master bedroom shower was awesome and the second floor laundry was convenient. We reserved the house for next year!

Joe, Our family had a great time at the house, pool, and the beach. I live at the beach in Cali also. Really liked the laid bake area and just hanging out. The surfside beach is much nicer than the other areas from what I can see. All the bedrooms are very nice. Was a little surprised that the house was connected to another house. But that was no problem at all. Really liked how you were on top of things and always answered my questions at any time. This was my first time renting a house via VRBO, and was pleased how easy it was.

Emerald Bay---a true gem in name and essence

Emerald Bay is a true gem. We were pleasantly surprised by so many understated aspects of this vacation rental. The property and all amenities were modern and up to date. The bedroom set up was perfect for our group (which included seniors, a baby and 3 toddlers) and the living room, dining area, and kitchen were spacious--perfect for big families like ours! The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans as well as kitchen cooking utensils, plates, and glasses (not always a given at beach rentals). We immediately apprectiate the SHORT walk to the beach. If I jogged, I could get there in less than a minute. This was a blessing for young and old in our group :) It is also a short walk or drive to other attractions should you want a break from the beach. We visited the arcade a few times with the kids in mid-day to escape the sun and played mini-golf several times at venues on Hwy 17. The husbands got some rounds of golf in at Indian Wells an award winning golf course which is just a 5 min drive away. We highly recommend this beach house and will make it our vacation destination in years to come.

2011 Beach Vacation

The house and grounds were clean and well-maintained. We had a wonderful family vacation here. Myrtle Beach shopping and attractions just a short drive away. Resturants and grocery store are close by - just a golf cart ride away. The listing description and photos accurately reflect home. The owner was great to work with. He even called the day of arrival to make sure everything was in great condition. Wonderful experience!! I would definetly recommend this property and would love to stay here again.

We have rented this home for the past two years and love everything about it. The owner is great and checks to make sure that everythng is up to your expectation. We have already booked it for next year. Great location only a short walk to the beach and not far from some great restuarants.

We had a great time on our vacation, this house is wonderful. It was just a very short walk to the beach and had a great little pool to cool off in. The kids loved the pool and it was so close to the beach you could just head down and take a dip and walk right back without feeling like you needed to set up camp down there. It was close to shopping and entertainment as well as golf for the guys. Everything you needed was in the house. We actually brought our bikes and it was a great area to ride around in the neighborhood. We enjoyed our stay and would love to return some time.

What a lovely place for a vacation!!!

We had the good fortune to stumble across this property while searching the web looking for a Myrtle Beach home large enough for 3 couples and 1 adult (my wife and I, my oldest daughter, my brother and his wife and his 3 teenage children, and my daughter, her husband, and my 10 month old grandson). We wanted easy access to the beach, sufficient secured off-road parking for all three families, a nice in-ground pool, bedrooms with private baths and TV's, plenty of room to relax indoors or out, sufficient dining space to sit down together and enjoy a comfortable meal, and quick access to Myrtle Beach restaurants and golf courses. This beautiful property 'easily' met those requirements and then some. For example, the in-ground pool has a privacy fence around it, with a some lovely palm trees providing shade and ambience (we also found the well appointed laundry room to be a benefit we hadn't initially counted on using). In some respects, I would prefer to not write this review and let this property remain a "best-kept secret" (LOL!) for others to discover on their own like we did. However, ... we had such a great time that it's not fair to keep this secret to ourselves. Let's put it this way... After a week of staying here to enjoy the Myrtle Beach area, I didn't mind either the 9 hour drive home to PA nor the thought of returning to work on Monday morning. In the words of the old 'Life' cereal commercials with the little 'Mikey' character, "Try it; you'll most definitely like it!" :)

The house was great. Very close to a nice beach.We had the max amount of people and were still comfortable.Also, activities are all very close.We never had to drive far.
