Fantastic Place to Stay in Buenos Aires, Close To All The Major Sights

This is a wonderful 2 bedroom 2 1/2 bath apartment that has a loft space with an additional two twin beds. The apartment is in a turn of the twentieth century building. The apartment has been renovated combining the old with the new. Crystall chandeliers and a stunning modern light fixture over the dining room table capture the essence of this renovation. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher. An extreme amount of thought and detail has been placed in designing this space. The high ceilings give a feel of spaciousness. I loved the fresh flowers in the living room and bedrooms. It is close to many of the major sights and convenients to grocery stores and restaurants. The property manager is helpful and speaks good English. I would recommend this property to everyone for a memorable stay in Buenos Aires.

Great Place to Stay in Recoleta...Don't Think You Will Find Nicer

This is a fantastic 2 bedroom 2 1/2 bath apartment that will make your stay in Buenos Aires a true joy. It is centrally located so that you can see all the sights in Buenos Aies. The apartment is in an turn of the twentiether building but the apartment has been recently renovated with attention to detail. Wireless internet, cable television, hair dryers, fresh flowers, dimmer switches on all the lights, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher are just some of its features. The design is a mix of old and modern which is really wonderful. This property is distinguished by this blend. The property manager was helpful and speaks good English. I would recommend this apartment for your stayi in Buenos Aires.

Fabulous Apartment

See our review dated 3/25/11. The apartment was just as great as it was last year. My wife is so spoiled she will only stay in this apartment when we go to Buenos Aires even though the apartment has two very complete bedrooms and we are the only ones staying there. It is large, very elegant and situated perfectly with many restaurants and shopping within walking distance. It is even better than the pictures. The Humphey Bogart elevator is always a treat.It is also centrally located in Recoleta and equidistant from other popular barrios such as San Telmo, Pueto Madero, and Palermo. The restaurant downstairs is now a Sushi restaurant. A new mall has opened only a couple blocks away with many shops and a state of the art movie complex with first run movies in english. For an inexpensive meal, go to the Parilla on Uriburu just above Las Heras. Patricio will cook your steak on his grill the way you like it and right in front of you.. Martin, the property manager is excellent, speaks perfect english, puts up with my spanish and answers all our questions promptly. We have already recommended the apartment to friends and they loved it. We highly recommend this apartment, but take care of it. We are coming back.

Beautiful restoration of vintage Recoleta apartment provided all the luxury and convenience that a discriminating traveler could ask for. Tastefully furnished and equipped with all modern appliances including flat screen TVs, washer/dryer, full home WiFi, and VOIP long distance calling. Service by the Owner's staff was impeccable and genuine in all respects. Highly recommended for travelers wanting to live like a local and in high style.

I happened to read the other recent reviews of this apartment and at the risk of sounding redundant, I must say that this apartment is truly better than it looks in the pictures - beautifully furnished and appointed with every necessary amenity. For our first trip to South America, our travel experience staying there was seamless and pleasurable from the moment Martin sent a driver to the airport to pick us up to the moment we regrettably had to return home two weeks later. Sincere thanks to the delightful and helpful owner, Mila, and the indispensable, knowledgeable and accommodating property manager, Martin, for "getting it right".

I stayed here in December, 2011, along with my Mother and thoroughly loved every minute. This was more space than we needed, but as soon as I saw the listing, I fell in love. I went from Buenos Aires to Rio to a qiute nice apartment, but sulked for hours in Rio, missing the elegance and character of this Recoleta experience. I thoroughly appreciated having the international calling option and washer/drier - we used both extensively and it was just so nice to keep in touch with our envious USA relatives. Although I'd have to stay at this apartment and in Recoleta, it was quite a long walk to the subway. I wish I had realized sooner how affordable the taxis were! The only good news in going the wrong way to find a grocery store was that we found a first rate bakery, which we visited each day. Martin was extremely easy to work with and responsive to any issue or question. The entire rental experience was easy. The condo was very comfortable, especially the bedding. Loved, loved, loved it

As the owner of a small luxury hotel in Key West, Florida, I am a bit on the picky side when I choose accomodations. This apartment reallly is amazing. Stunningly beautiful with every possible amenity you could imagine. Spacious, impecably decorated, soaring ceilings, dramatic spaces and a great location. Loved our month there! Martin, the property manager went cheerfully out of his way to assist with any need, including personally delivery of a flower arrangement we ordered. Nothing was too much trouble and he is just the type of manager you would hope to find. Location was also outstanding with a wine store, (stock up on the Malbec) and numerous restaurants within walking distance! We had a marvelous time in BA and will definately return!

We have just left this lovely apt. after 2 1/2 weeks in BA and other places in Argentina. The apt sounded good in the VRBO listing and it lived up to its description. The building is lovely where old world charm meets modern design. There is plenty of room, we were 5 adults and everybody enjoyed having their own space. Everything was clean and the beds were comfy. We didn't really use the kitchen except for coffee but you could easily cook in it. The owner in California is super to work with and Martin, the property manager, in BA is too. He made car arrangements for us that were fine. We were caught in the volcano ash problems and didn't know if our flight would go until the last minute but Martin helped us make our airport plans. We had a little rainstorm problem with a leak and Martin was on it immediately. My daughter had been in BA for a semester study abroad so we had a built-in city guide but I would not hesitate to call Martin for things to do in BA. Also. the location is FABULOUS. There is lots of the city that should be seen and I think Recoleta is very well located. You can get anywhere in a taxi, available right out the front door, and there is a lot within walking distance of the apt. in the way of dining, shopping, and sightseeing. When I come back to BA I hope to stay here again.

Everything about this apartment was perfect. Location, building, interior design (beautiful and incredibly spacious). We spent two weeks here last month, and like another reviewer, I miss it already. The owner in California (Mila) and her onsite manager, Martin, couldn't be more nice and accommodating. Absolutely no complaints - just muy muy bueno!

Renting this lovely apartment was a pleasure from the moment we first contacted the owner in California. She was quick to respond to every question, outlined all the details and made the rental process a snap. The BA management team was professional, helpful and punctual. But the apartment!! Just beautifully decorated and well appointed, spotlessly clean, and everything you could want was there. It is decorated in a graceful combination of contemporary and period pieces that fit the 19th century building perfectly. Travelling with another couple, it was one of the few two bedrooms to have two king beds and equally nice sleeping accomodations. The location is perfect, a few blocks from activities, but a bit more quiet than blocks closer to the cemetary. There's a decent restaurant downstairs when you want that "room service" feel. Last but not least, WiFi worked perfectly, in both the living room and bedroom, wish I could say that about other places we stayed on this trip. I almost hate to write about it, hoping it will be available when we return for a much longer stay!

This apartment was all we could expect. We have stayed in apartments in Recoleta before and this was by far the best. The apartment is very elegant. The bedrooms are spacious and the marble bathrooms are beautiful as is the living area with fabulous chandeliers. It is well located with many restaurants in easy walking distance. We enjoyed our rides in the Humphrey Bogart elevator. Mila, the owner, and Martin, the apartment manager were very helpful and easy to work with. The restaurant on the first floor is very good and we enjoyed sitting outside with a bottle of wine afternoons for people watching and getting to know Phillipe, the owner and his friends. Melos and Los Pinos(ask for Jose) and Rodi are other local restaurants we enjoy, but there are many others as well as the more well known ones around the city like La Cabrera in Palermo. Overall, we had a wonderful stay in a wonderful apartment and are planning a return trip next year.

Tango in Paradise

On our ‘quest’ to improve our Tango, my husband and I made our second journey to BA and found the perfect oasis in the heart of Recoleta. The apartment was ‘better than excellent’ and exceeded our expectations, perfect in every way. We are veteran VRBO users and this private residence did not disappoint. Working with Mila in the states and Martin in BA made the whole experience as smooth as gliding across the dance floor! Besides being a beautiful, tastefully appointed and spacious residence, it offered the perfect location for finding everything one would need…fresh fruit stands, sinfully delightful pastries, excellent vino selections, fine dining and all within a short walk. The beautiful hard-wood floors in the living room even provided the perfect venue for taking and practicing our new Tango moves. We always felt secure and the building was quiet. Truly Fabulous in Recoleta!

My friend and I stayed in this fabulous apartment from 3/15/10 - 3/19/10 and loved every minute of it. The apartment is truly impressive and comfortable at the same time. The owner's and BA Apartments could not have been easier to work with or more accomodating. Not only were they able to work around our unusual arrival/departure times, they recommended and booked Tango shows, private city tours and airport transportation for us. The apartment was conveniently located with many sites within walking distance and taxi's available at any time. We are already talking about our next visit to Buenos Aires and our new "home away from home"! Tracey and Karen

My husband, two children and I stayed at this apartment at 2009 Pacheco de Melo for two weeks in October 2009. It was our first time to Buenos Aires, and I have nothing but positive things to say about it. The apartment is gorgeous and elegant -- but comfortable, too. We loved the blend of romantic French furnishings with hip, modern details. The bathrooms and kitchen are remodeled with top-of-the-line fixtures. The linens are all high quality. What we loved most, however, was the fact we felt very safe and peaceful here. Mila (the owner) and the apartment management company were very helpful and responded to all our questions and needs. The location is great -- easy access to everything, pretty much. A lot of street noise floats up and enters the apartment through the balcony, but I believe that would be the case with any apartment in BA. The apartment building itself is clean and quiet; we never heard noise from the neighbors. One last point regarding children: while we had our two kids with us (ages 11 and 8), I would not say it's a "child friendly" apartment because there are many lovely things and fancy upholstered fabrics that we kept having to remind the kids to be careful with and not touch or mess up. Also, the stairways and lofts are not very safe for kids; I definitely would not want a baby or toddler here, as there are too many hazards for a little one. Owner response:Sarah and family visited our property on their first leg of an around the world trip. When they booked we discussed the non-child friendly nature of the apartment. They felt that their well behaved little ones would do fine there. I, as the owner, do not recommend our apartment for families with children in general due exactly to the things Sarah mentioned. The street noise on the living room balcony side of the apartment is mitigated to a large degree when the large french doors are closed, and does not travel to the bedrooms. Do look at Sarah's blog to see more comments about the property. Also some comments from a guest who just stayed for the month before they arrived might be fun:" We used the property manager's recommended airport transfer, and even though our flight had been delayed by 6 hours, this did not create a problem. The driver was excellent and the car was clean and looked virtually new. We used the same service going back to the airport and it was equally good. The best part though, was this particular apartment. It looked fantastic in the images on the web site and in reality it was actually more impressive than we could have hoped for. We stayed for 31 days so we had plenty of time to get a feel for it, and we totally fell in love with it. I am an Architect and generally am disappointed by most rental accommodation. Not this time. This apartment takes up one half of the top floor of the building, and because there is a huge light-well in the centre of the building there are virtually no adjoining walls with neighbours. As a result the apartment was amazingly quiet and private given its location in busy, noisy Buenos Aires. The design and fit-out of the apartment is enormously stylish, well thought out, with expensive quality fittings used throughout. Many of the design details, for instance the hand rails on the stairs and loft, are just exquisite. The location of the apartment is great. There are restaurants & cafes everywhere, including Pacheco Restaurant on the ground floor of the building itself. Likewise small supermarkets are on most streets. We loved this apartment and were very sad to leave. We still miss being there and hope to visit again. I highly recommend the apartment and the property manager and thank them for providing such wonderfully comfortable accommodation."

Mila and Stan, First and foremost, thank you both for sharing your amazing home with us. We were greeted by Mariana, with a smile that makes the world go around. We were than greeted by the management staff (total shout out to Pablo), who explained everything in great detail (even sending up a new phone charged later that day). The apartment itself is amazing (the pictures online do not do it justice). We decided on this apartment due to the photos online and the location, and I will honestly tell you, we were a million percent glad we did. I could not imagine staying anyplace else. The location is smack dab in the middle of the Reclolata and a perfect base for exploring all that Buenos Aires has to offer. The only thing we hated about this apartment was having to leave.
